Am I really the only one who used 4WD car to gold the Autumn Ring drift?? I scored 9100 with my stock Murciélago LP 640. Seems like everyone uses the FR beasts (Speed 12, Special...)

I get the impression from drifting posts last year that most frown on using 4WD as being too easy. Mind you, I've not kept up with the discussion as I'm only a 'fairweather drifter' myself...I enjoy it but don't take it seriously.

the autumn ring drift trial was the toughest one ive done so far but after about 20 minutes i golded it with a stock AEM S2000 which i use on all my drift trials. The toscana drift trial i used the subaru impreza sedan, the one that cant be race modded. That long corner was a bitch to hold a drift on, it either went to wide and scored too little points or to close to the inside and hit the invisible wall.

I always use the premium Renault Clio V6 24V '00 for drifting. It'll get you the Golds easily fully tuned and it's very easy to drift with. (stock settings)

Thanks for this tip. I haven't had much success with afew muscle cars.👍

I use my viper gts for drifting. Funny that people use comfort hard tires. I use comfort softs. I'm no expert though, barely golding them.

Why is the autumn ring drift trial so easy to gold? I thought pd would up the difficult once there was a prize in the line.

Quite possibly the most difficult for me so far...I can't get a slide going in anything on that loop, and the final sector is too pathetic to earn real points...took real effort to get bronze

Golded the autumn ring drift with a volvo 240 and i am not so good at drifting, i did try for quite a while...

I'm not the best drifter, but the thing that helped me a lot is when I started using manual. Otherwise your just banging off the limiter in 1st or 2nd, where now I just feather it in third or fourth most of the time.
Long corners I end up in 5th or 6th by the end, just because it makes heaps of smoke :)

Hello, I can't beat the Drift Events.
Have someone a good setup for the Toscana and Autumn Ring Drift Races.
I have tried it with the Biuck Special on Toscana and with the Cebera speed 12 on the Autumn Ring but I cannot beat the Scores :guilty:.
Please help me

A I said in a previous post, I think if you are new to drifting don't go straight for big power or big heavy cars. I found it difficult (still do) with a lot of HP - tend to spin out too easily, so I went for much more modest cars: try something like an 80s Skyline (RWD), an RX7, or S2000.

You can drift them stock, maybe with Comfort Hard, but I found that reducing the weight a bit (including windows - should help lower centre of gravity) and modest power, say 250-300 HP, gives you a good drift starter. You can tweak suspension for drifting to give you more control.

The key is not having too much power to begin with - you really don't it need to gold these anyway.

Once you've got the techniques and control down, then move to your higher HP Speed 12 or such like. You'll also find a lighter car is easier to change direction - I would think the Special is pretty heavy.

As mentioned above, manual gears make things a lot easier.

Just an idea from drifting noob.:)

I posted my setup for the Autumn Ring in the previous page. Give it a shot. ;)

To everyone complaining about the TT's and the amount of cheating bending interpretation of the rules that's possible:

Why don't you have a look at GTPlanets Weekly Race Series?

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=117

Go for the Qualifier, submit a time via PM, wait for ~2 weeks and you are able to drive in a weekly Time Trial with very strict rules, a good/fair result check, in a nice community. I guarantee you that it will be challenging.

Apologies for spamming the forum with that, but it took me about 4 different pointers to check it out and I wish I had done it sooner, it's that awesome.

I'm finding the rally events HORRIBLE. Rallying on this game is awful...

And how the hell do you get a 908 to 345bhp? My lowest at 50% is 367 :s

I just used a 4WD rally car for the TT. Got the Ford Focus from the dealership as I didn't have any in my garage; did it after about 5 attempts. I find DS3 easier than wheel for the counter-steer. Did Toscana drift with the Subaru 360.

Why bother with the 908? Just use something normal and feel superior.:)

I used the Audi R8 for the Eiger drift it was awsome. Just got there under the time...

I used the Evo Super Rally car for the Eiger, it took a few tries because I haven't done any rally races since December, but that car is awesome. By comparison, I had tried to use an Impreza rally car but found they just didn't turn, I presume the Evo must have AYC though because it handled beautifully. I lost a lot of time on some corners, though, but I'm sure someone with more skill could do better.

The Toscana drift event was the toughest for me, I tried all manner of things but in the end managed to scrape by in a fully modified KPGC10. I literally only just managed it. My sectors were 1,500, 500, 3,000, 2,500, 2,000. I didn't tune it at all, though, because I don't know how. The other events were easy.

I don't mind everyone using the 908, I am a fan of an equal playing field and the 908 provides that if everyone is using it. I've posted some tips for getting the best out of it here:

http://consoleracer.com/newsItem.aspx?newsID=8

There are a few turning tricks to be employed that while making the car a little more difficult to control, are necessary to compete.

Any tips for the Madrid TT? I have the RM Integra and am 0.6 seconds off gold, I have run the ECU, and exhaust upgrades which maxes my BHP, should I use a turbo and limiter?

+1

I'm in exactly in the same boat and would appreciate a setup for the Integra also!

I was 0.068 out with the Integra touring car. Then I bought and rm'd the Premium Integra. Fully upgraded and then limited. Did it first lap. My tip would be for the left hander after the back straight, and the subsequent left hander, you can carry a hell of a lot of speed through the corners. I think I tool them in fifth and third gears respectively. First lap after buying the RM, gold was in the bag. I used stock settings and TC @ 1 with DS3.
