New Endurance Save glitch

That could be handy for getting the 200% bonus at the end of it which im still trying to figure out a way to do.

The bonus stays the same. I was a 200% one day and started a race, saved my race and finished it the following day. It still gave me 200%. I then got my 10 paints and museum items when the game went to the GT-Mode home screen.

In regards to the bug. I only save once the car has come to a stop in the box. It has not failed to resume properly whilst doing this. 👍

Not being funny mate but that would have happened anyway. That show the bonus works lol you get it each day you log in which is what you did. I've not actually logged in to gt life for a couple of days now because of the way it saves

It's just something we'll have to deal with either by just racing the full nine hours or waiting until a patch comes through for the glitch. And I'm going with the latter.
Mee too. Tsukuba drama? Thanks but no thanks.

So all the other tracks are supposed to work with the save function?

Just discovered this on the 4Hr Tsukuba race myself. Pitted in slowly as I was already aware of the pit lane bug, I suspended the race, then went to continue today and my car was straight away placed on the green dividing grass strip between the pit lane and the track, it then missed the pit lane entrance and tried to drive repeatedly through the barrier to get into the pits. I eventually had to reset the race. Very frustrating as this was my final pit stop - I had about 30 minutes of the race left to run.

I had already saved and restarted this particular race 3 times before this happened, always taking care to be properly positioned in the pit lane and not speeding before suspending my game. This really, really needs patched. :-/

I will repeat my self once again.
For those who has the bug in tsukuba:
1) when you load your game and start the race immediately spin out your car (you control it for like a second)
2) you will gain controll of your car or your Bob will turn around and pit
3) if that doesn't work, exit your game and try the first step again

It worked for me two times (yeah I lost some time) but I won 9h tsukuba in two days.

I tried reloading it twice after the initial instance with no joy at all. The car just continued to bang into the pit lane wall about a third of the way down the start finish / straight after missing the pit lane entrance. I only watched it for a couple of minutes though.

At no point did I have control over the car, not even for the split second you describe straight after loading.

Maybe I should have tried loading it again, but it still needs addressed either way. It seems to be a definite show stopper for the endurances around Tsukuba.

It's a strange bug I had to reload 3-4 times too.

On my first save the car spun in to the gravel and I got to control it. Did a lap and pitted.

On my second load I did 360 and bob just turned around and pitted.

My tip is to keep turning left. And I tryed to press x ano on that quick pop up but I think it had no effect.

I think that saves should be done while in the pits. That way you would resume standing in them and Bob would have no problem exiting. But it's up to PD to decide how to fix it.

Yes nice one PD, 2.5 hours of wasted time.....

****ing Bob is messing up my 9 hour race. No tyres, no fuel and 49mph...

GT5, see you later forza here I come.

So I tried the 4hr Nurburgring Endurance over the last two days...

I was driving Kaz's N24 Schulze Motor Sports '11 (stock except for oil change & custom transmission and started on RS tires then continued with RH tires).

At about 2hr 10 min in last night, I saved (just as I had done successfully 3-4 times previously) while leading by more than 4 min.

This morning, I loaded my save and the first thing I see is that I'm in position 2 of 12. :nervous: I completed my pitstop and rejoined the track. As I went over sector timing lines on my out lap, I received no update on delta behind the 'leading' car. After I completed my out lap, the time deltas started updating again and I was 2 mins behind.

I believe this 'leading' car was a back marker that I would have soon passed had I not saved. After I finish the race, I'll post the make/model of this 'leading' car.

Anyways, I put the throttle down, passed the 'leading' car, and went as fast as possible to build a lead. I'm now up by 3 mins and just saved again at 3hr 10min into the race for what will be my final save. Hopefully, when I reload the save to finish the race, I'll be in first place. Wish me luck!

Anyone else experience this problem?

EDIT:

Race complete and VICTORY! I did not have any new issues when I loaded the save to complete the race. The 'leading' car that skipped into the lead was a Gran Turismo Skyline GT-R '01 which started in 11th. I finished the last hour of the race on SS tires and it was still a great ride.

It's unfortunate, PD/ Kaz / Sony / whoever should really have had this sorted. I love GT, I love the driving, the 'feel' and the, well previous to this incarnation of the series - the detail that had went into them. To have a 3hrs of a race (and my life) pissed away in what seems to be a simple bug, down to lack of testing is a bit much.

This is, after all, a Ps3 'Flagship' release???

*Trying not going down the way of ranting about what has happened to the series - it's been done before - and done to death.*

There are a the basics of a groundbreaking game in there - it's visible every time I turn the console on with the GT5 disc in. I genuinely love it, just the wee things like this and some of the choices they seem to have made with this incarnation - it leaves me baffled, and in some cases kinda resentful. This could have been so much better. It's all in there - just so hopelessly mangled.

Anyways, enough. I hope it gets patched, but I'll still be playing regardless. :indiff:

*apologies about the rant* :-)

In all honesty this bug probably made your endurance race MUCH more exciting than it would have been otherwise. There is no tension when you have a massive lead.
;)

That was actually the frustrating bit. I played it mostly fair and had about a 4 lap lead after 3.5 Hrs.

The same just f.....happened to me during my seventh hour on the 9hs enduro, wtf PD? What a pitty, 7hs of racing wasted on some glitch...patch PD, patchit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well...happened again....this time 6 hours in on my third time suspending the race, tried reloading and "Controlling" the car multiple time to no avail.....BS, I had been pulling into the pits at about 10mph, upon resumin car was going much faster and just went right out of the pit lane.

I drove the Suzuka 1000km and I never had a problem with resuming. Then on monday I started 9h Tsukuba and there I had problems resuming.

First resume: Screen is black. Then a car hits me, my car is out of the pitlane. Then on the main straight it tries to drive into the pit but hits the wall. Then another car hits me again and kicks me past the pits and B-spec drives one lap and I hope that it pits but it didnt although tank was empty.
I then reloaded and the car that hit me at the first now kicks me into the pit lane and everything is fine.

I then drove for an hour and saved again. This time when I try to resume, the car is located on far left of the track opposite of pit entry (and turning left didnt help: although the car then turns to the right, the distance to the pit entry was too far to enter before b-spec taking control :( ). B-spec keeps driving right after finish line and then stops as it were in the pits. And there the car remains until eternity.

And it doesnt help pressing suspend when you are already in the pits: It always resume at the beginning of the pit lane. At least thats how it behaved on suzuka and tsukuba.

I used the suspend feature in this race.

When I resumed there was no sound, but no problems with the car or position.

After finishing the race I noticed there was no replay.

2 more glitches with the endurance save feature:

1. When you reload, your car damage has miraculously fixed itself

2. If you save/exit/reload you don't get a replay at the end

Nice feature but can we do it right please?

1. so what its not like it affects performance

2. want a replay? do it all in once

Ive just finished 24h le mans thanks to this great new feature... no problems whatsoever

5 hours into the 9hr Tsukuba, and I got this :(
Started it yesterday, saved a couple of times. Loaded it today and got pit wall B-spec driver.
Trying several reloads, and manual spin out method.
Note: I entered the pitlane at a slow speed as I already knew about the pit lane speed issue.

*UPDATE*
After 10+ attempts, managed to regain control :)
Method: Press Pause immediately after resuming. Something flashed up on screen, most likely the pit entry selections box, it unpaused and I had control again.
Just aswell, I was about to get seriously angry at wasting 5hrs15mins and go Hulk.
Anyway, back to the race :D

Does your nappy need changing?

Of course I want replays - its part of the beauty of GT. Doesn't doing it all in one hit defeat the point of introducing a save feature for endurance races? Ok so we gain one feature and lose another. Bargain. :dopey:

Saving an endurance race is all down to the hardware and I'm pretty sure PD have done have much as they can with this, for once. You have to realise how much data their is to save for an Endurance race, all usually stored in the RAM of the console. That data has to be saved to a non-volatile state then re-loaded in the RAM when you resume. I think you're asking far too much of the console to be able to remember all of that and still remember the key parts of the race.

I mean regarding replay, where is it going to get the data for all of the parts before your last re-load?

Save the data the same way is saves replay data after a race, then append new data upon resuming the race. I don't think that is beyond PS3 capability for a second - replays are fairly small files so I'm assuming the way the data is stored is fairly efficient.

I am not a GT complainer but I was slightly disappointed about losing my replay.

I can vouch for the spin out method at Tsukuba, it's allowed me to continue the 9 hours 3-4 times already.
E-brake and make a hard right, 95% of the time when the 'start' flashes across the screen and Bob takes over the wheel, he'll make a 180 crossing over the pit road next to the track, thus "latching" the car onto the pitting line he needs to follow, from there you'll get the prompt for tires and fuel and off you go.

The last couple times I resumed I didn't even need to quit the game and reload. I got the car back onto pit road from the get-go, I was just holding down the handbrake and turning right before the screen loaded up.

It's messed up that they didn't test this before releasing it.. How hard could it be to test it? I'm sure they'll have it fixed shortly, but damn.. they didn't have to release it all screwed up in the first place. I think I'll wait to start the longer endurance races- the only A-Spec races I haven't won.
