Is this the camera view we play with in GT4? Because it's really weird, we can't see the side of the car while it turns (in GT3 we could). Oh, well... Downloading the other one.
el capitan reminds ME of Nürburgring with this hills up and down this suddenly sharp shikanes and of course with this landscape(except the mountain)it really is simlar to "the green hell"
If you look at the overhead view of El Capitan's layout, I found it had a resemblance to Canada's F1 track, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Not an exact copy or anything, but the general curves and the pinched waistline are similar in appearance.
That's one fine course - and not bad driving. The only real straight is the pit / start-finish - the rest is all over the place - careful, balls-to-the-wall driving will be required.

Thats where I got the vid from. That car is something serious as that track is too. I can't believe how much PD has been able to push the PS2 to its limits. AMAZING!!!.
