Live for Speed is probably more realistic, certainly when it comes to breaking distances.

Still GT4 should make up for GT3's shortcomings :)

If GT3 was so realistic, why did they feel the need to totally redo the games handling for GTC? GTC utterly destroys GT3 handling wise.

That was one mistake, atleast I didn't say it was a photo, live and t5r.
You just can't resist can you, PD said they used photo's for the background of the grand canyon, me and T5 quoted him and you got you 3d modeller mate who got shown up for not knowing much by a real 3d modeller to argue against that. Using a photo as a texture is easier than making a new texture from scratch and GT4 isn't the first game to do that.

As for GT3's realism, there are plenty of more realistic racers on the PC, but GT3 was the most realistic on a console at the time, now apparently RD2 beats it but I've only played a demo. GTC didn't use a new handling model but a revised one, GT4 uses a completely new model.

Let me see your proof live, that pd used photos. I can't counter act that with my info. Dont get owned again.

Well if you read any of the news and intervies with KY last year you'd have read that, if you want proof go and trawl through it all yourself, I'm not watsing 1 or 2 hours trying to find it just to satisfy you.

The canyon isn't fully 3d, now the canyon that is all in your face is the one that is 3d, you would know this if you played gt4p which I doubt. Now the canyon off in the distance is 2d. But the rest of the tracks in gt4p have bitmaps.
Oh my ****ing god, I just noticed this, you just owned yourself Cobra. I'll be back with another quote of yours to prove it soon.

Code, you are lazy, I would translate it. I see a 15 in the first sentence. What does that 15 imply to? It seems I have the right translation, 15 is in it. And if you know jpn, why aren't you telling me what this 15 impies to?

I type in indigo, not invisible ink.

3-gatsu 15-nichi. 15th March. Why didn't your friend translate the "3" part if he's so smart?

Your "friend" is making it up. Every part of what he said is WRONG.

By the GT meister himself.

:D I just got Type 4. like 3 weeks ago. Just wanted to have more free time to play it ( The team i work for, is having major problems with setups. Today was round 3, at Tarumã Racetrack, and we still haven't managed to put both of our cars in the top 10 of 33 cars on the grid ).

How am I owned? I made a mistake but atleast I didn't say the canyon was a photo. When I was arguing with live about the canyon, I was mainly talking about the canyon closets to you is 3d, that was my whole argument and live you shouldn't talk about ownage, antde put you in your place like it was nothing.

Well, you should ask garconis, he knows the guy.

Pff. This thread is scary! All this blah blah ... I have prologue, and these screenshots give a decent impression on what it looks like on my tv, ok?

You only get an accurate impression of the game when the snapshot is taken when the image isn't moving. The first picture is taken with the car standing still on the Fuji straight, with the brakes on. The second is in movement, but with the camera keeping the car steady in center. You can see that in the background, the alternate lines of the interlaced picture pull the graphics apart in two directions when capturing.

You don't see this happening on a normal TV because you can only see one set of lines at a time which makes the picture look steady and fluent on a normal TV, which after all only draws 30 full images per second, but makes it look like more by drawing 60 half images per second.

GT4 actually generates 60 full frames per second however, which you can only fully appreciate when you have a HD TV (Progressive Scan) and the game supports it. It is said that GT4 will in fact support progressive scan, and that would mean higher quality images would then be possible. If a capture card supports grabbing such images, a lot better captures can be achieved still.

Nevertheless there are capture cards which better deal with the alternative lines and can pull the image together to make them look better. A card like daan's does a pretty good job at this, I might get something like that again sometime. With the cheap cards, like I have now, it's a matter of timing and making sure you capture an image that doesn't move too much.

When? I'd love to know. You've been owned plenty of times so far, you were adamant that the pics taken from the intro of GT4:P was in game, you did say the whole canyon was 3d and you argued you point which was wrong, you thought the pic of the Saleen S7 from the Barber school of motosport was in game when it was a real pic of a GTS Saleen S7. Don't even comment on ownage unless it's directed at yourself, and yes the backgrounds are photo's that are used as background textures and made to fit into the game, so shut up about the freaking graphics because you have a nice record of being wrong.

Those were self ownages, I admit. But the canyon is no photo. I remember when you said why dont the shadows move on the canyon, antde said you need a light source to make a shadow change positions. After that was cleared up, you didn't say **** until t5 said some bs :D

Thx you so much for proving my point arwin. See those pics look almost as good as the new pics by pd, only one prob, they are dark. And live thought he knew what he was talking about, art   :D

I did say that, but afterwards I explained what I meant, as you move around, your perspective of the shadows changes, it doesnt in the vids. Why do you find it so hard to beleive that PD would use a photo, not only does it look better than a texture created inhouse but it's common prctice in racing games to use photo's and edit them to fit into the game, ontop of that if you were bothered to do some research you would find that PD have even said they use photo's. And yes you need a light source, but you need one to create a shadow, unless it's a flat image and the shadow isn't a shadow it's just a darker shaded part of the texture. Ante proved nothing when he joined in, all he did was create doubts that he is a 3d modeller.

They don't, blow thoes up to full screen size and thats what the game looks like (well the game looks a little better, but not as sharp and clean as thoes pics which have been shrunk in size), still good but still even in thoes pics the graphics arn't as sharp as the pics you believe to be ingame.

Shut live, you have been owned for thinking the pics were art, just shut the **** kid. Those pics are close to the new ones, you are just in denial, you just dont want to admit it.

Your going back to your old self Cobra, honestly, you can't accept other peoples opinions and even though you've been shown up so many times you still think your right about everything. You might be right about some things, but graphics are not your area of knowledge. You get beaten in an argument and debate and your only come back is shut up, you've been owned for thinking the pics were photo's. No I've proved they are in the past, and as I said if you want to continue this discussion, go and do some research. Otherwise I suggest you shut up because other people here have done their reasearch and the backgrounds are converted photo's.

Just shut up live, you dont know what you are talking about, I'm laughing so hard right about now. My day has been made :D First, you say the new pics are art and dont represent the game's ingame graphics, now awrin posts gt4p pics that look close to the so called art pics  Antde owned you, just move on.

This post tells me your under the minimum age allowed on this site. You are incapable of being reasoned with, you think your laughing hard I've seen primary school kids with more common sense.

 is that a fact? Please, move on, you are done for today.

Yes, keep posting because each new post of yours proves this a little more. Oh and as good as thoes pics Arwin posted, they still arn't as sharp as the ones you think are real, you can spot the lack of aa and the picture quality is higher.
