Delphic Reason
No one races with their head sticking out of the front bumper... A hood view would solve this problem, and give you a better view angle, so as to better judge upcoming turns...
The GT3 1st person view is from inside the car now, not on the bumper or nose of the car. We just don't get to see the hood.

Cheers,

MasterGT

I think the only cool part about the hood camera would be racing an F1 car with it. I personally use the incar camera exclusively. It makes it so much easier to judge corners.

If what Proxima said about the incar in GT4 is true, I will cry. :scared:

GT3's first person view was just fine for me, but I love the new angle too. More choices the better!

Sometimes a cocpit view might be a real pain in the a**. Nascar Racing from Papyrus or DTM2002 mod for F1C are good (bad?) examples, but when done properly you just can't get out of it ;).

You're saying NR2003 had a bad cockpit view? It's one of the best cockpit views, my favorite save GTR. Everything is 3d and looking side to side gives a great effect, especially with the mesh flapping in the wind in the window.

You want the chair? Just go to your state penitentiary and be accused of some crime 10+ years ago. Oh wait, you mean the chair the guy is racing in. My apologies, demon of speed .

Radicool, I can recall seeing a video online featuring the Fina McLaren racing around Fuji in the MUCH older days of GT4 news. I recalled seeing a camera view where you can see the machine from the roof of the car. I think it's only going to be in replays, I'm afraid.

If you GT3 gamers have a Super License in the game, you may recall Formula GT. I believe in two of the models, there are two different camera views. The first special camera view (F/090 I believe) was one where you looked over the driver in the F1 car and if you notice carefully, you can note the driver moving his/her hands to try to steer the car. Another F1 car has a similar view, but you look over the driver from the right side. So if you have GT3, just go to Formula GT, go to any race event, then go to "Preview." If you can choose a car and a camera view, take a look at all the different camera views available for some of the F1 cars. Keep in mind that when you select "Preview," you'll get a random replay style. So if you can't have any real control of the action, just cancel out and go to "Preview" again. Keep on doing it until you can finally view a car and cycle through the camera views.

To make a long story short, I wouldn't be surprised to see different camera views for certain vehicles. Certain unique views would be fun.

I just wish that in the options screens i could choose what the views are, how many i want to be able to scroll through while racing, and then have a mode to maek custom views, many games have this feature, and it makes it nice being able to choose the view perfect for you, it shouldn't be that hard, especially with half of the photo mode work it would seem they could use it soemhow for driving views

I've noticed the sound is hardly audible in the in-car view in GT4. I was shocked! This almost makes me not want to race in the in-car view. Am I the only one who finds this a disturbing development? It seems so, I haven't heard anyone about it yet.

I noticed it too. I find the incar sound not good enough in the Japanese demo.

As for driving views: most incar views don't give enough view. If you are in a real car you can see a wider angle. I think the behind view resembles that the moste in any race game. Yes GTR has a fantastic cockpit. But it takes away too much of what should be seen.

I think a good cockpit cam adds more to a game than it takes away.

for those that want to feel like they are inside the car they are racing, it's useful. Of course, the engine, tire, and wind noise should change accordingly.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I would never EVER duct tape my Logitech Steering Wheel set like that! :yuck: Sorry, I am not the kind of person who would duct tape things like that! :O I rather be more organized if the pedal platform have holes on the side so that you can drill it to the ground or object! Just my thought! :O

To add to your point, McLaren'sAngel, I think the steering wheel and the pedals and stuff were supposed to be specially-made so that you don't have to worry about suction cups not staying in place. I don't know if this dope was putting on that duct tape to keep it still or something like that.

I don't know. Maybe he didn't get the memo about the DFP.

5 or 6 views? What other views do you want, that you would actually race from, other than the chase and in-car view? I would be happy with just the in-car view, thats all I ever use.

Well, there can be lots of different views that many others will like. A 1st person view with the front dash is a nice one to see. Maybe just a plain 1st person view with nothing but the MPH number on the side can be another. How about a view with a 1st person setup like in GT3 but a small screen in the corner that display a virutal racer inside your car and shifting and turning the wheel based on how you drive? The more view, the better the variety in the game is and THATS what we all would love to have! :O 👍

 me neither unless I have absoulty no other choice. I am sure there must be a reason for that. Maybe it was just way too unstable? Or maybe they were trying to tape the guys foot down to the accelerator.

Problem with a cockpit cam is that it takes away what SHOULD be viewed...the road.

It is impossible to simulate periphial vision on a television screen, and adding MORE to clutter the screen and get rid of what is to be seen just makes things harder. It would be nice to see for replays, but useless otherwise, it would just be some stupid gimmick for a driving simulator. This is a game where you need to see as much as possible to judge everything, from competitors to the upcoming corners etc. If you cannot see everything because of a "cockpit" then that really does take away. And anyone who says "well you can learn to use it"...that's just stupid...that's like buying a bike with one wheel, then saying "well I can learn to use it"....it's nothing that's needed for practical applicationn a video game.

They make a virtual reality setup (like big sunglasses) that is motion sensitive, for PC's... Live For Speed supports it, and it is quite impressive... I have a video that shows someone using the glasses with LFS... When they turn their head, the view on screen follows... This is from a cockpit view of course. This gives you a much better senser of realism, and a full 360 degrees of analog control (an anolog camera angle, so to speak).. I wish more games would support such a feature... It would get you into the game like nothing else...

;)
