It's an excellent phone - Had a T610 which is the same phone in a different coat until I got my current (and very beat up K700i) - The EO used it extensively before buying a W800i some 14 days ago.. It held up beautifully...

Can't say that I really care too much for themes - My phone is a tool, not a piece of jewelry. All I ask is that it's fast and works 24/7 and has good battery life, which the T610 (as will your T630) has - You can't beat a Li-Polymer battery...

Btw.. The camera in the W800i is pretty damn good - Renault 5 Turbo 2

Nice (ph)one...!

I just got a new phone too, and I've been making my own ringtones by making sound recordings (using the windows sound recorder while playing mp3 files on iTunes) then editted them with this excellent, free wave editor program. Transferred some nice wallpapers too (using the bundled software with the phone) so now I can take Kylie with me wherever I go... :o)

As for themes etc., I'm not sure - I think with the ability to create your own wallpapers, they are pretty pointless, esp. if you have to pay to download them...

Yeah, i'm not going to pay for anything. All the ringtones currently on the phone are rubbish. It seems i can record sounds, but i can't use them as ring tones, i can only use polyphonic ringtones. None of which sound anygood.

When I used the T610, I actually used a ringtone I made myself in the DJ thingy - Twas pretty catchy and I guaran-damn-tee ya noone had that very same ringtone.. Never made a backup before I had the phone flashed to newer firmware... Remember Tenacious Ds "Tribute" ?... Same thing..

www.zedge.no
free themes&other stuff for cell hones, including themes(most of thei themes section is for SE phones IMHO.

you have to register though....

Also,I think that there is a free Sony ericsson theme creator proggy, you need a bluetooth dongle for transfering the temes though, google it up,youll find it for sure.

and no,I'm not advertising, despite this being my first post.

This your first Sony Ericsson?
I got my first Sony Ericsson last month, the W800i. LOVE IT!

I rate SE's, they're as functional as Nokia's but less boring imo. The software on some of them has been a bit twitchy but it has on Nokia's as well and it's overall been a damn sight better than Siemens and Motorolla in the bigger picture.

Browse this very thread with IE and check the ad-links on the words, you'll probably find some ringtones and wallpapers for it.

Nice phone, D. 👍 Some of the newer Sony Ericsson phones are SO nice! I'm not a fan of the "flip" phones, so I'm partial to their design.

My last three phones, over like 5, 6 year's been Ericsson/Sony Ericsson. I currently have the T610, which is an older phone. I've had it for at least couple of years.

Thanks a6m5. First thing i'm going to do is buy a USB bluetooth key, so that i can connect the phone to my pc and sync it. I have never backed up any of my phone numbers before and I think it would be a good idea.

The other advantage is that on my old phone, if i wanted to get a picture to my computer, i would have to email it at a cost of 30p. Soon i will just be able to upload it for free, which will be handy.

True, on both points. I don't even know my friends' phone numbers. It's all in the phone. :D I don't use my camera that much, but it is a pain to have to email it to transfer the pictures.

I need a new phone, and I found a used, good condition T637 (US version of the t630, AFAIK) for only $80 if I use buy it now. My V400's ear-piece broke. I think I will buy it.

This thread made me want a new cell phone too. I like Sony Ericsson's models but I was looking for a "flip" type phone, and most of their phones are not flip phones. But the W600i looks nice.

I didn't want to make a new thread about it but I just bought a w800i. :D

Over the internet though, so it should be here by saturday or monday. Can't wait! :)

*Hijack*

Thank you. :)

And congrats to you too, Vasco. The V3x looks like a pretty nice mobile, my friend is interested in one.

dont want to be a miserable git but i know two people who have had v3's and they had constant problems with them. the biggest being the phone always turning itself off

btw i have an a1000

I think you can get a W800 for the same price at ebay. It's pratically the same cell phone, but the W800 comes with a bigger memory stick.

Mine hasn't arrived yet btw, it's probably coming only next week. :grumpy:

Only reason the memory stick is bigger on the W800 is because the main push for the W800 is the whole mp3 playback thing. I prefer the look of the K750i, too. Not to mention, I've got a 512mb pro duo stick that I use in my PSP that I could stick in my phone if need be.

Yeah, the mp3 player thing played a big part on my choice of which cell phone to get but if it doesn't matter to you then you should go with the one you think looks better.

DQuaN: T630 is a great phone. i been using it for couple of years. well the software is a bit laggy compared my good'ol nokia but no biggie.

i always wanted the k750i but couldn't afford one back then. waited almost a year and now i think it's the right time to get one. like Integra Type R, me too prefer it's design over W800i.

also, K800i is around the corner. it will be a 3G phone plus 3.2 megapixel camera. gonna cost a bomb when it launches so probably i'll have to wait for another year ...
