I bet most of the people that voted Nissan only voted it because they're Skyline crazy...:p

If you're going to say which one is the best IRL, you have to go with either Honda or Toyota. We're talking about the best COMPANY, and those guys now how to run things. You could argue that other companies have some better engineers, some more interesting cars, or whatever, but as a company Toyota and Honda do it right. They make by far the most reliable cars in the world, and that's because they know how to run things. Honda makes Civics that will run for 300,000+ miles in Sasuka, and they make cars just as good in Ohio. 50 miles down the road from Honda's Marysville plant, there is a GM plant making Chevy S10's that will need a full-time mechanic to keep running after 100,000 miles.

i voted for Nissan but Toyota came up as a close 2nd. Nissan produce the best stock cars such as Skyline, Silvia, Fairlady, 300ZX, 200SX and the awesome R390GT1 road car

Somebody sure did pull this one from out of the crapper.

I say Honda for a company for overall things made. But for cars only I say Toyota.

Hey, come on now. Keep it to cars. Or else I'll say that Beretta Firearms is the best company because they've been around for almost 600 years.

In that case, I think I've gotta go with Volcanic Repeating Arms. They were way ahead of their time. Or maybe Colt for replacable parts and early reliability...

:D

Then what about Daewoo? Not only do they make cars and construction equipment, but they also diversify and manufacture things like machine guns.

Daewoo went bankrupt last year, and all warranties on their cars have been suspended. They are even being sued for gross unfairness, because parts are almost completely unavailable for the cars. The cars are so bad that the dealer retail for a new 2002 Daewoo is $5,000. That's the same price my used 10-year-old Honda was!

I don't think Daewoo is going to make anybody's "best company" list.

You want to talk about diversifying? Toyota was started by Sakichi Toyoda, who started making automatic looms in 1896. Toyota Industries still makes textile equipment. They didn't start making cars until 1936 (and the first Toyotas used 1934 Chevy engines).

All the zaibatsus are diversified. Mitsubishi owns Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsubishi Electronics, Mitsubishi Chemical, and a ton of other stuff. I'm staring at a 22" NEC Monitor with a Mitsubishi tube because it's just about the best monitor available. Toyota is the #1 company in all of Asia, and Mitsubishi is #2. Samsung (the biggest company in S. Korea) is #24 in Asia, and Daewoo is far below Samsung.

Yea, but Beretta Firearms is not on the list.:D

The biggest overall company has to be General Electric. They got their hands in everything! They even make diamonds.

I thought this poll was based on the game so I picked Mazda because of the 787B and the RX7 LM version they're pretty nice.

Yeah, they're now called "GM Daewoo". They had some ads on before saying GM Daewoo.

They make diamonds? :odd: Sorry man, but I'm not sure if that's possible. Although, I may be wrong.

It IS possible, oddly. You can make all kinds of fabricated gem stones - rubies and emeralds are popular.

Most gemstones have a very simple chemical composition, but a complex tertiary structure. Diamond, for example, is just carbon atoms, arranged in tetrahedrons. All you need is heat and pressure, in most cases.

IMO the best manufacturer is Porsche AG, hands down and all, but since Porsche isn't represented in either the game nor the poll, I went with the closest alternative: RUF.

Beretta only makes industrial-grade diamonds, though, which has been common since GE started it in the 1950's as I recall. They are mostly used for the tips on sawblade teeth and drill bits. There are very few places (about 3) that can reliably manufacture gemstone-grade diamonds, and I think at this point there is only one that can actually make them for less than it would cost you to buy a real one.

I havta laugh at this, the Chevy company has HALF of the votes that Honda has. Not saying I have a big bias toward either car (I even own a Chevy). I just find it funny that everyone makes fun of Honda and its still more popular then Chevy.

A lot of times people are just making fun of ricers when they're making fun of Honda. I drive a Honda because Hondas and Toyotas are by far the most reliable cars in the world.

I have to agree with you on that one what is it that people have for BMWs. they all look the same they all drive to same. I would not have another bmw. I am happy with my rover looks good, drives good, cost is also good and goes like hell even though people dont know they do.

I love seeing the BMW drives faces when I smock them. :trouble:

skyline, that's why people like BMW's, because one it's a very very refined loooking car, there's no crazy plastic flares, no overbearing fog lights, not scantaly clad interior, it's all very subtle, and as far as "They all drive the same" that's another reason people like them, no matter WHAT model you get, you know it's a superb road car, be it a 325i a z3 a M5, whatever. They all will handle great, and that's another strong suit.
