Not sure if anymore has been said about this. But if you do have to drive around the Nurburgring for several hours in a Endro race, then the weather conditions/sky colour will need to change over time.

However I can't see PD asking use to race for 9 hours straight, around one track. So maybe they will allow use to save the game mid race when you come into the pits. Just a thought.

Cheers

Does anybody have any idea how long the new El Capitan track is? I'm hoping it's another long track, well longer than Grand Valley Speedway anyway, maybe not another 'Ring. But I do look forward to some nice long laps; they make you feel like you are going somewhere. Anybody else hoping this one is 4 or 5 miles long?

@Raf Laureys:

The Pic of the Skyline is "Ex-Mühle"!!

The "Bergwerk" is where Niki Lauda crashed.
Mentioned by RouWa.

Cleared our little "Missunderstanding"

:)

Who knows, maybe we see each other next Year at the Ring. 👍

Or could it be RPM, in the Bspec mode.

I am curious about the gauge on the left of the tire display.

iceburns288 again...

That is the throttle/brake indicator. They are at full throttle and no brake. The left side of that is red when brake is applied.

Do you think the inclusion of Suzuka Circuit is a big plus for GT4 or a big minus? Suzuka is perhaps the best figure-eight road course. As a road racing fan, Suzuka's layout is unique and hellishly technical. I've seen pictures of past Suzuka configurations and each one seemed to be very nice and long configurations. I like what I see. And you can count on this track being used in the GT World Championship, Japanese Championship, JGTC Championship, and if reverse has its way, perhaps in the Polyphony Digital Cup. If you see this as a big MINUS, however, don't. Take it from me. Suzuka is one of those "make you think" tracks. Pure speed will probably get you into the grass and in the sand/gravel traps. I remember watching highlights of the JGTC at Suzuka from two years ago and last year. Suzuka is a wonderful race track, perhaps even Japan's answer to the Monzas, Spa-Francorchamps, and even Monacos of the world. And to have this in GT4 with a nice assortment of JGTC race cars, count on this track being a classic. The JGTC races at Fuji, and to have Suzuka in makes it twice as sweet. Maybe the nice Autopolis circuit would be nice. I think it was Micheal Krumm who called Autopolis a Japanese Nurburgring (and I don't mean the Nordschliefe).

Carry on Suzuka discussion, please.

I think that including Suzuka is great. It will be nice to race around the streets of Paris or New York. But this doesn't happen (anymore if ever). By adding in a real World track like Suzuka you add to the relism of the game. Would the game feel so connected to the real World if all the tracks were fictional?

However, I am led to believe that the Suzuka track has been altered slightly this year. The 130R curve that leads into the final chicane has been changed so cars travel through there slower. This is such a shame, as I always wanted to drive any car flat out through this curve. It will be interesting to see if PD have put in the latest circuit, or used last years layout.

Cheers

I would love to see the Chinese Grand Prix track in GT4, damn that thing looked spectacular and presented a brilliant race, Haha Schumacher. :D

Yeah the Shanghai grand prix was great. I wanted Button to win though...
Schumacher @ place 12 > very satisfying

I am not a fan of Schumacher.

But hey, he is world champion again, so why not lose ONE Race.

The formula one is BORING.

F1 is becoming boring yes, but that's because of the engineering of Ferrari and the driving prowess of Schumacher along with a great strategist and mechanical team. I prefer BTCC or GT myself, in fact watching the last race of the BTCC showed me again what racing is all about, slamming the door, griding metal against each other, if you're not fast your last basically.

I rather like the configuration featured in MotoGP 2.

Of course, driving a supercar is different than a superbike. Can't wait.

Oh yeah and is twin ring motegi in yet?

You know, I can't recall playing which MotoGP. I think I played MotoGP 1 or 2, and the game was pretty wicked. When it rained, it can be an uphill battle trying to see down the track. And since you're on a bike, you'll really be tested to stay balanced and try to survive the odds. Other than that, the MotoGP series is the number 1 superbike racing game, and one of my personal favorite race series (though I don't watch motorcycle racing a lot).

Suzuka in GT4 is a very nice challenge. GT4 can use the JGTC as well as some sportscar racing. I've heard of the Suzuka 1000km ran there in the past. But if you ask me, I think the ALMS should race at Suzuka and perhaps scout for some very talented Japanese racers and race teams. And who wouldn't want to take an LMP around Suzuka? I know I would. Even though it's very special with the JGTC and Formula One and even motorcycle racing, Suzuka needs a little GT love. You dig? Suzuka is a nice, long track. I think the coolest part of Suzuka, speaking as an American, is that long straight when you go past Suzuka's west circuit on into 130R, that is, if I know my Suzuka. But I'd love to race it. You GOT to give it a chance, GT gamers!

As a quick question if you wish to answer, if GT4 included the brand-new Shanghai circuit, would you want to race it in GT4? As a hint, think about racing JGTC race cars and even some sportscar racing around the track. Alright. I'm done.

I love the the S curves in the first half. They're a blast. Not to mention the wickedly fast sweeper at the end of the longest straight, just before the chicane that leads to the start/finish straight.

One lap is 4.78km long.
A Mazda 787B makes one lap in about 1min52s

Best Bike Game Ever was / is Road Rash !!!!!!!!

okay let's distinguish it a bit more: best motorsport bike game: motoGP2 (that I've played)

best non-motorsport bike game: Road rash 3d for PC. man I had some fun in that game! the soundtrack rocked too.

What about the light to the left of the oil in this pic? A blue triangle with a "!" in the center. Could this actually be a caution indicator, hinting at car damage? It would fit the theme of the area it's located in (performance influences): Caution low fuel; Caution Low oil pressure; Caution car is damaged, performance degredation.

Judging by the condition of the tires and the lap and total times, it kinda adds up to the car pitting every lap for 15 secs. 4 and a half laps in @36 min that comes to about 7 3/4 mins per lap
but best lap is 8:07so theres about 20 secs per lap unaccounted for. The cars not slacking off showing off featcher, its still leading.
So looks like the short run tires are still in.
anyone figure it different?

EDIT: or one real long stop, fueling takes 1 min?

cudadude2... Best lap is 8'07" * 4 = 32'28" it also looks like he's 'around' a third to half lap thru on the 5th lap (add another ~3'30"-4') and you get ~ 36'00"=36'30" and total time displayed is 35'54", so eveything seems to be correct to me...

If i'm not mistaken, he's 8:10 into the lap. Must be a pit in there somewhere.

Okay, I see the 8'10" now...

Well if he is 8'10" INTO his fifth lap, where it should be ~3'30"-4'00" to make the 35'54" balance...

Total Time *should be* 8'07"x4 + 8'10" = 40'38" or thereabouts.
(Where 8'07" = fastest lap repeated on four previous laps of race)

Maybe we're missing something???

Very nice pics! I am  with expectation. It's looking very good, very polished, very involving. I can see me playing this game for years to come (well, until GT5 is out!)

lol.....look at his position, he is on his 5th lap so has made about 4x8.08=32.32 which leaves his current lap at 3mins 22seconds which is about right for that part of the track.
(i know that because ive done an 8min lap and you around 3 and a half mins at that spot)

*edit* :indiff: as for that 8'10 in the middle of the screen....i have no idea heh, maybe its his last completed lap time or something
