The lowest pp car on racing hards that I won with was the Toyota Supra au Cerumo. Not great on top end speed, but the car handles so well.

400pp - Delta HF Integrale
500pp - BMW M3 '07
650pp - Ford GT Spec II

Great set of races, esp the 'ring.

Wow I love the Nurburgring... because I'm terrible at it.

Tried unsuccessfully with the 2J, Zonda and BMW McL F1 before surprisingly nailing it with an M3 GTR RC, against a weak field it must be said.

I used:
400PP - Golf GTI '76
500PP - RUF Yellow Bird
650PP - Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II

Only Nurburgring was a hard race, won after six attempts ... and a lot of tuning.

Today won at Nurburgring after only two attempts with the Speed 8 Race Car '03.
Great car!
👍

Somewhere in this thread someone mentioned the Nissan Concept LM Race Car and it dawned on me I'd never driven that car (after a year and a half!).....

Soooo I tuned one up and absolutely creamed the Zonda, passed him at the 3:12 mark...car is an absolute beast at the 'Ring, extremely stable....👍
Yeah, I love its stability :) That's why I picked it to begin with.

I too tried the Nissan Concept LM. Won second time without too many issues. I've been running a lot of cars at the ring today, with mixed results. a Lexus IS F (RM and fully tuned) got me second three times in a row before winning it! My Chapp' 2D managed several podiums including a win against mediocre opposition.

400pp
I spent an hour tweaking the Alfa Giulia Sprint GTA at it's stock 371pp rating on SH, but I'm just not a good enough driver to get the little Italian beauty over the line in 1st place.

Went for something more modern, the '66 Alfa Duetto and bought some power upgrades to bring it up to the same pp. With very basic tweaking she cut through her rivals with ease and took the lead at the beginning of the last lap.

This car is in the OCD and if you don't already own it, I highly recommend you invest some credits and give it a try.

500pp
The hateful Top Gear challenge and a previous qualifier for a GBRC racing season on CS tyres had left me averse to the Elise 111R. But I was looking for something different to what I'd normally use and tried it on SH at ~440pp.

Wow, the worst kept secret on GTPlanet and I still missed it, but I'll be driving it a lot more from now on.

650pp
I have a terrible time coping with the Ring at the best of times and with high powered cars I was expecting to spend hours trying to gold this event. But, I pulled out the GT-R R35 TC for the first time since getting the DLC and finished second at the first attempt.

The understeer made it hard work to drive and the car feels a lot slower than it is. Changed the LSD settings and lifted the front ride height a little and the car won easily on the next attempt.

I'm sure this could be made into a great beginners car with an oil change and proper tune.

I am B-specing A-spec!:sly:AKA getting my dad to drive the mclaren, However he's having trouble keeping it on track and has got 2nd 4 times running... Still a nice 2.4 million credits for nothing!:sly:

If you're talking about the R35 TC, well yeah it's a good choice. Very stable around the 'Ring because of its AWD layout. I fear the McLaren more because it's faster and lighter :ouch: well, I have that R35 TC, a nerfed Mercedes CLK-LM, Pagani Zonda R, and some nerfed LMP1 cars (BMW V12 LMR and Pescarolo Courage Judd GV5) and the Chaparral 2J. which one would be a good car?

You can borrow my Mclaren F1 GTR race car if you send fr to zegolfman.

I've been looking through this thread and wondering to myself why people keep mentioning the fact that they beat it easy with whatever car when the Pagani or the Ford GT or Corvette was leading. Just dont get it. The only lead car that is a real challenge is the Mclaren F1 GTR. And also why are people mentioning Racing Soft tires. Last time I looked doesn't the event have a Racing Hard tire limitaiton.

Tried it about a dozen times yesterday morning in a Pugoet 908 LMP1 (detuned to 650pp) and still best was about 2 seconds behind that car. Sure the 908 is way faster but after you get up to 3rd and finally around the Pagani, I usually start to see him heading toward the carousel, the Mclaren still has like a 10 second lead on you. Is a good challenge and I think I will eventually get it with the 908 but it certainly isn't gonna be easy to catch the Mclaren. Oh and I will admit that I suck at the Nurb so at least I'm finally learning this track.

There is no tyre limit on any of these events. I'm ashamed to admit I resorted to RS tyres on a 2J for the 650pp after being smoked twice on RH in the F1 and detuned Toyota one. It's my mission to do it right next time.

Damn, could of sworn I saw a tire limitation. I never went back to the loading screen after choosing the 908, just kept trying different tunes. Now I know why it's such a challenge with the Racing Hards. Damn, with Softs it should be a lot easier, as I won't have to tip toe out of the tighter corners in 3rd gear. I'll be able to mash it with Softs. Well I guess it's my fault for not double checking, really thought for once PD gave us a real challenge. Should've known better. Well at least I got some practice on a track I hardly ever run, with a high powered car and lesser tires. More proud of myself now. Just couldn't make up enough ground in the corners before and detuned to around 520hp with slightly lowered downforce I was only reaching just over 200mph down the straight. With Softs I'll drop the downforce almost all the way down and grab a few more ponies and change my gearing for a little more top end and now when I see the Mclaren on the straight I'll get him for sure. It was always in my view just couldn't catch a draft to pass and would've ran out of gear any way, cause I was trying to balance my downforce, gearing and HP and get it just right on the Hards. I tried dropping the downforce to gain some power with the Hards and it was nightmare to drive. I could probably get it done on the Hards or even Mediums but it would take some time. I put in what I thought to be some pretty good laps, didn't keep track of my times, but like I said finished about 2 seconds behind a few times. Might actually try Mediums with no changes before going to Softs just to see if it gives that little bit extra I need in the corners. Don't want to make it too easy, if I can help it, big diff between Hards and Softs.

400pp : FT86 Concept
500pp : GTR '09
650pp : Got lucky with the AI (Corvette Fastest) with a RX7 TC

Not so simple on the 'Ring.... It is AI poker as someone stated. The Zonda LM and McLaren F1 will both mess you up. If you can get the 650pp without them your good to go!

Only tried my maxed out Audi RS6 in the 650pp so far: made it to 2nd place, 10 seconds behind the Ford GT. Anyone got a win on the 'Ring in a non-racing car?

650PP NĂĽr: McLaren F1 '94 @ 628PP, racing hards: 6:27,6

I needed a few tries to catch that F1 GTR and it was for sure no clean overtaking.

Nevertheless a result worth mentioning and a job well done. Congratulations! I'm still in the process of trying. God this seasonal is fun!

Just won the 650pp event with my 587PP Viper SRT10 ACR on Sport Softs. Did a 7:10:xxx and won by 2 seconds.

Have to admit though, the lineup was the easiest possible with the Falcon XR8 and the old Corvette as the rabbits.

Thought I'd have a go at breaking 6 minutes, just did a 5:59.742 in the 2J, well pleased with that. I just like running the 'Ring at this PP :)

Same here. Having a grand ol' time running through some of my favorite cars detuned to 650pp on the 'Ring. At that pp, they're a little more controllable in the tricky bends which change direction/tighten up and catch me out often times when they're at full power, and carrying more speed. And all the while you're earning 1,000,000/run... sweeeettt...

And 200k XP/run, didn't notice is got up to level 40 whilst doing it many times. So much so I started testing cars at that PP to see which was fastest, tis good fun indeed.

Seriously, seasonals should only be on nordschleife. best track, most fun!

No, just no... :grumpy: Despite all it's greatness... If ALL seasonals were in the Ring, or let alone, on the same track... I wouldn't touch this game... :yuck:

Nice. If that was with a DS3 on RH with no assists I'm going to quit playing right now. Lol

I wish, DS3 RS, but my best time with RH's is 6:11, still no assists asides from ABS.

I agree. I don't get the love for this skinny, bumpy road. GT needs more circuits. Getting a smooth rhythm going around a proper track and getting apex's right each lap is my preference.

Nurburgring - you can keep it.
