On a related note, here are the first real photos of the new Magnum police vehicles. :)

Rumor around minnesota is that the new state trooper cars will be Chrysler 300C's but an official decision hasn't been made yet.

Also, that STi cop car - the light bar completely F's up the air flow to the rear splitter/spoiler. They should have made it a slick-top.

If I remember correctly, Vancouver, WA has had WRX police cars for sometime now.

I actually met the guy who has that car, I sold a few disc golf discs to him. He's also a regular at www.awdpirates.net.

The car isn't a cop car. It was for a photoshoot and he had the decals on for just a couple days. He talked about how no one would pass him because of the lightbar and decals and such, until a little ol' red Nissan Sentra SE-R flew by him. He then chased the little bastard down, and then took off on him again.

So the car no longer has the lightbar or decals, but does have a sezzy JDM STi lip on it.

Except they will all suck in a chase because they will get damaged to easily. If you try to do a pit on a big truck the front end of the WRX will just be crushed. Sure it will be able to keep up with the faster cars but when it comes to a chase it will blow.

This is why Crown Vics are so good, you can beat the hell out of them.

Maybe if the STi had the same guard on the front as all the Crown Vics do, maybe it would be just as good. Although, I have heard of Chevy using super bumpers that don't get damaged. The movie 2 Fast, 2 Furious used one of 'em when the Evolution slammed into a pole and was unscathed.

Maybe, but I'm thinking it might turnout to be more like the Mustangs the police forces buy. They just use em for show and really fast pursuits. I know that I wouldn't want to run from one, it would keep up with my easily.

That's true about the Crown Vics, but last year, I heard that they found somesort of weakness in the structure of the car. If I remember correctly, you can damage the fuel line or fuel tank by rear ending them or something like that.

P.S. Did you know the Crown Vics'(Police Pkg) trunk tray has Kevlar padded in it? I wish all cars came with one. :D

The crown vics certainly are some bit of amazement. My buddy has a police issue one he got from the Michigan State Police, he has a police Tahoe too. They both were insanely cheap, indestructable, and fast. I've never looked in the truck though but I think I'm going to have to shoot at it next time I'm at his house and see what happens. :D

It was pretty thin layer of kevlar, so use a .22 :D

I'm not an big fan of Ford cars, but I do love the big Crown Vics!
