yes, i'm obviously trolling because i don't agree with paying for stuff that should've been in the game originally.

i bought the collectors edition, thinking i was buying a complete game (which after 6 years it should've been) and what i got instead was a game missing half the tracks from old games, badly upscaled GT4 tracks, and none of the tuning aspects advertised, and now PD are asking for more money for these missing features?

this is what gaming is, because this is what you have let it become. unfinished products, broken promises, and post purchase upsales.

Yes you are trolling.

Get used to DLC purchases and Patches. That's the way gaming has gone with the advent of the internet and has been this way for some time now.

If you don't want to update your games, disconnect the internet from your PS3 or go back to playing boardgames.

Seriously though, they never said it would have all the tracks from previous GT games, do FPS have all the maps from their previous iterations? No, not even in DLC packs.

Whilst I was disappointed in the Aventador not being in the game from launch, I'm happy to pick it up now... You know what, it just means I have one or two less drinks this friday night, it's $10 or so... and it's a lot more expensive here in Aus even though our $ is better than the Yankee.

DLC and new free features really seems to bring out the best in people. At least we learn who the crazies are.

Edited because i got told off by one of the gods

gt is a great game only to be released due to timing issues.. and they have shown better .. no , the best support to a game i have ever seen after a year old game. some of this community really bugs me.. am i the only one?

We don't even know if this is anything like the old Test Course, we're just assuming based on a few screenshots that honestly don't show that much... I can't believe people think they're entitled to something in a $60 video game..

Did they promise that ALL old tracks would be returning? No.

What tuning aspects were advertised? I'm not sure what your on about with this.

Lastly, what "upscaled GT4 tracks" are you referring to? :odd:

wow, and here's me thinking that a reasonable debate and discussion could be had...

having negative opinions on things does not make me a troll, or crazy, it makes me a person with a differing opinion. it's not about money, it's about principal. are you really happy to pay money to these people for stuff that should have been included in the retail sale price?
every single Gran Turismo game has had a high speed test course, featuring top speed runs, 0-400 meters and a 0-1km feature. this game did not include one, and is now selling it to you for extra. does this make you feel good?

What makes me feel good is the fact that PD developed new tracks rather than the ones I've driven countless laps before. Don't get me wrong, I miss the old tracks, but damn I'm glad we got new ones.

Things could be so much worse. We could be playing ver. 1.0 still. PD have done a wonderful job with this game, and as the saying goes, you can't make everyone happy all the time.

I owe you $1.

Exactly. I have never seen a video game developer support a product like PD is supporting GT5. Nobody seems to be thankful for that.

i love the updates, they've done a great job of fixing things, and adding features, and this i expected of them, because the game they released was flawed and unfinished.

Everybody knew GT5 was unfinished about 20 mins of playing it after the first time it went in their PS3 in November 2010, yet over a year down the line we're still getting threads like this about GT5 being unfinished and missing features. We know and have known since day one!!! and in all fairness to PD they haven't asked us to pay for any of the missing features at launch, they've been added through free updates albeit slowly but surely over the course of a year but we haven't paid for them.

Ed,

Hopefully you'll consider this response reasonable debate... I see your negative point but I don't understand why you stick around here and complain to forum members. I don't understand why you don't cut your losses on GT5 and go sell your game disk on eBay and walk away determined to never be duped again (or better yet, figure out a way change the industry). Then, next time, do your reasearch before you purchase and make sure you are getting the proper value for your money before you let the $ our of your hand. By the way, I don't know anyone that likes a complainer.

If you so choose, good luck in your quest to change the industry!

My 2 cents...
I, for one, am happy with my GT5 purchase of $60. GT5 graphics and gameplay is amazing as it is (even though it may not be a true simulation and may not have as much as people wanted) and even better when the DLC I like is added at about $10 a shot. For comparison, a simple dinner out with my wife is $60 (including taxes and tip). Trust me, I do enjoy my time with my wife, but dinner only lasts for a little over an hour on one night (not counting the poopage that happens later). I've played GT5 much longer than an hour and had many fun times raceing offline and online. I think you are unrealistic in thinking you can have everything for a measly $60 (and an occasional $10 for other content you find compelling).

No one is asking you to pay for missing features. They are asking you to pay for extra tracks and cars. Yes there should have been more in the game from day one, but there was not.

When the most awaited sequel of one of the best selling videogames in history turns out to be a half-done massive disappointment, that's the minimum to be expected. It's slowly improving, though.

Aren't top speed and acceleration tests a missing feature?
They've always been in GT until GT4. Now they're offering this as a "Speed DLC pack".

I'm pretty sure none of those things were actually promised. Tracks and tuning options were two of the things PD were pretty straightforward about, in fact. The "variations/locations" number was announced a good while before the game was released, and they showed off screenshots of the GT5 tuning options about a month or two before the game released.

Now, that isn't to say that SHIRAKAWA doesn't have a point, but that doesn't seem to actually be what you are railing against.

I'm going to make this quite clear.

If someone has a differing opinion to yours that does not make them fair game for personal insults, attacks or wishing them were banned.

The AUP is quite clear that attacks on any group or individual are strictly forbidden, and those who are unable to debate a point without resorting to threats, abuse and belittling others will find that they are the ones the staff will be paying an interest in.

Any topic of conversation or opinion is permitted at GT Planet, as long as it follows the AUP.

It was for an AUP issue that the OPs original thread got close, not because of its topic, and to be blunt the staff are sick and tired of those members who throw accusations of 'troll' at anyone who may take issue or wish to discuss areas of GT and/or PD that they feel are negative. To be blunt no part of the AUP demands unswerving praise of everything GT, and as a site we have grown because we encourage healthy, mature debate. That requires the ability of all sides to be able to voice views without fear of attack, and is exactly why the AUP contains this point:

AUP
You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.

Right now I'm seeing far to many people who appear to thing the AUP doesn't apply to them, be under no illusions, that is a mistake.

Well, Kaz himself admitted to wanting two more years in development time.

And he also stated that he could go on forever without releasing it but Sony and us the people wanted the game.

It's not as good as GT4 but I can say unlike any other game: I am still playing it over a year later.

It's not as polished, but we got what we paid for. Unlike other games we've had free updates, some of which we asked for, and PD responded. PD is striving to turn out updates and DLC faster and faster. We've already gone from every 2 months to 1 a month. Also we weren't sold DLC on the first day like many other games.

We're getting seasonal events every week for, for free, to make up for A spec.

And we choose what we want to buy and play. I wanted to buy GT5 based off of the GT series. I bought a PS3 just for this game. I could've bought an Xbox very easily. The only time I've been upset with PD was with the very last update. I talked to people here and found several fixes.

i hope you get banned from this forum. clearly an idiot who doesnt realise that the world does not revolve around himself. gt is a great game only to be released due to timing issues.. and they have shown better .. no , the best support to a game i have ever seen after a year old game. some of this community really bugs me.. am i the only one?

Completely agree with above.

Completely agree with above.

And as a result of ignoring my clear instruction for the attacks and abuse to stop you now have a two day holiday from GT Planet.

Does anyone else feel that the AUP is optional and the staff can be ignored?
