From various threads, I have found out that the update contains: Performance points, fully adjustable gear ratios, and a fix to the 4165kb save file bug. B-Spec anywhere will probably also be in it.
 
Whats performance points?
 
Performance points are points which tell you how good a car is. You may have a car that's 200 points. Add a wing and it's 205, play around with transmission and it's 215.

Sadly, no mention of AI, qualifying, damage or any other major issues.

Oh well, maybe the next update 👎

Woohoo! New update and probably performance points. I predict Matchmaking, remote B-spec and B-spec against your friends. Hopefully they will fix the black screen and let us see other peoples times in online qualifying.

All I want is a fix for my first save file. Then I will have to go about gifting the 150+ cars from my new one to the original.
 
On reflection, all those years developing this game and it's only recently some of the most basic, elementary parts of a racing 'simulator' (I laugh out loud at that word) are being added.
 
Anyone hear anything about Time Trial Leaderboards?
 
the only other thing i have heard from the horse's mouth, besides what has already been "confirmed"; is a lot of appoligies from Kaz to players with wrecked savefiles.
people talk about the damage model being perfected, more cars converted from standard to premium, new real-world tracks, being able to change the rims on standard cars. but thats all just our WISHES. its what we would love to see fixed.

BTW: what hasnt been confirmed but we can assume is coming in the update, is what needed for the GT academy to continue; a fix to eliminate cornercutting and barrier-riding. it hasnt been mentioned by Kaz or any "official" source but GT Academy was red flagged by it so there will be some kind of fix for it. It may be that i's only for the GT academy. Or it may trickle down into online racing and A/B-Spec. But for certain we can assume a fix will atleast be adressed to GT Academy.

We won't get tracks or standard-premium. It would probably be announced or it would be as DLC.
 
Really hope matchmaking shows up. It's in the manual for goodness sake.
 
I hope it shows up but is also incorporated into the regular lobbies. You should be able to make advanced only or be able to view the levels of people in a non-restricted match.
It should make online NASCAR a lot more enjoyable.👍
 
I'd quite like there to be a more descriptive offline time trial results board for each track, detailing car mods and tyre selection etc.
 
One basic feature I hope it does introduce (but most likely won't) is the ability the delete times from time trial boards without clearing the entire list.

Add that to the oversights...

Correct me if im wrong but i'm pretty sure in that GT academy news article it was announced that Round 3 would be postponed till a later date due to fixing the penalty system and that the penalty system fix would be included in the next update . 👍

Edit : Confirmed from the Gt Academy cancelletion article Quote - " pending the next GT5 update, which has been confirmed to introduce more sophisticated corner-cutting and wall-banging detection mechanisms to “prevent this type of inappropriate driving "

That would indeed be useful. They should perhaps have a menu where you can see all time trial data within the submenu you get per track. That way time trialing would feel more like a feature rather than an added afterthought.

get the set up right the first time or else that car is placing two or more lap times on the board... :mad:


@sk0pe thats what i meant we know for sure its in the update. but to what scope and extent is what we dont know.
 
it shouldn't be 2.0, as 1.x would involve bug fixes and minor changes, while a 2.0 update would imply a major operating system overhaul (IE: gran turismo 6)
 
Alright, sorry if I upset anyone, but it just sounded completely fake with "1.06/2.0," since neither is realistic. If you want speculation, I'd guess they call it 1.1.
