Got a Driving force wireless wheel on Tuesday...I'm really having problems putting in some decent laps with a wheel as I've hit level 20 with my controller. I'm new to wheel racing as a whole...
Every once in a while everything comes together and I put in an awesome lap, but 99 out of a 100 laps is a complete monstrocity. I'm finding wheel racing extremely difficult at the moment.
I went from a DS3 to G25 in GT5P after golding the game with the DS3.
I had to start the game from square one to learn how to use the wheel properly. I was a mess.
You have to work ALOT harder with the wheel, I think thats the main issue. Full lock from left to right was a quick flick of the stick on the DS3 whereas the wheel requires a lot more work, 900 degrees of work.
If anybody is worried about the quality of wheels, i can say they are fantastic. I've used a few wheels over the years with my consoles. i had the official Sega Saturn wheel, then i had a madcatz PS1 wheel with vibration, followed by a Ferrari wheel for the Dreamcast to play Ferrari 355 Challenge. They were all pretty crap to be honest.
I have a G27 now and the quality is exceptional, especially compared to the previous wheels i owned, the FFB is awesome and helps you feel the car (depends on the game) and you definitely will be faster than with a pad.
2 players of equal skill but 1 with a wheel and 1 with a control pad, the guy with the wheel will be faster. You have more control over precise turning, brakes and throttle with a wheel and that is important. Aside from that, its more enjoyable unless you're feeling super lazy.
link for the price info thanks! 👍 I'm really interested...
Well not many cars really have 900 degrees turning angle in real-life. Formulas have 270 and almost everythin else 270-540. I bet 900 degrees is pain in the ass![]()
haha yeah, what is up with the obession of >900degrees rotation? I nowhere use that much rotation in my street cars unless I'm parallel parking!
