If you like aids that's fine, I don't care, but there is absolutely no reason to FORCE people to use them if they don't want to, just as you don't want to be forced to not use them I'm sure.

I think that this is perfect payback for those who force others to not be able to play however they want. This should show that SRF is not bad.

Payback for what? I assume you're being sarcastic. Who exactly is "forcing" people to drive without aids?

But that is online, controlled by players. This is seasonsals, controlled by PD. Online lobbies are for 16 people, if you don't like the rules find one you do like or make your own. The seasonal is for everyone playing the game, there is no alternative. It's either use SRF or don't do them.

People shouldn't think that driving aids are so bad they can't do stuff in the game that makes them use them.

These are a bit easy!

Suzuka won by well over 1 minute in a stock GTR on softs. Can't remember the gap at Nurburgring, but won it with a Vette on inters by miles including a few spins.

Won by a lap at Spa in the XJR9 on inters. This is a waste of a good race as once the track water is above c.75% you have to potter round the corners at walking pace and the AI are pretty much at a standstill.

What? Driving aids are an option in the game, people can decide if they like them or not, why force an option on with no possible way to play that particular event without them? Like I said if you go online and see a room forcing them off you can just move along and find one where they're allowed or create your own room. You cannot complete this seasonal without them.

Also I could just about accept ABS or TCS being forced on as they're real world aids but SRF, an aid that has no resemblence to anything in real life? I shouldn't be forced to use that in a simulator.

Listen here you. I don't give a rats ass what aids you use or even if you choose to use all of them, thats up to you. But, don't force me to use them, thats not how I want to play the game. Aids are for people that want to use them, they should not be forced upon others who don't.

As for your silly little comment about payback, that makes no sense at all. I don't play online or host online lobbies, therefore I don't force anyone to do anything. Yet, according to you, I am getting paid back for something I didn't even have a part off. Silly. I think you should really re-think your logic there my man.

Yeah, I guess that I am a little flawed, I've never been good at stuff like this. Ok, I need to bring this up. Honestly, which do you think is the better type of person? The type who accepts others no matter what, or people who think they are right all the time and don't accept the opinions and thoughts of others?

Ran the first three today.

Best I managed was 3rd at Nordscheife, driving a well tuned Ferrari 458. I nearly won but got brake tested by the second place man on lap three at the last corner before the long straight, by the time the penalty was over I had no chance of making up the time. I was comfortably the fastest car on that straight and would have easily passed them both. :banghead:

Next time!

Opinions are by their very nature free to be challenged, that's why they're opinions. Otherwise they would be facts.

You're trying to bait me into one of your pissing matches and its not happening. Your question has nothing to do with the matter at hand so it will go ignored. Happy Holidays.

But they are also to be accepted and respected.

I wasn't trying to bait you into anything, but how you responded answered my question.

...I've never used srf, someone can tell me if it "ruin" these races? Can't try at the moment.

I made the mistake of reading through this thread:ouch: You've got a lot of growing up to do. The world isn't black and white with two kinds of people. I don't accept others no matter what. Would you accept your neighbour if he was a thief, child molestor, beats his wife? No of course not.

Likewise, there are few people in the world who meet your second description, but some may give that appearance at times. In fact, in this thread, it's you that fits this description the most, because while everyone else is advocating having the option to use SRF, you are advocating that everyone has to use it, whether they want it or not. In other words, your way is the right way, and everyone else wanting an option to use it or not is wrong. They don't want to force their opinions on you, it's the opposite that's true.

These seasonals are yet another example that PD has no clue as to what we want as the remaining hardcore GT5'ers...👎👎

PD might have to accommodate broader player's skill range, hence the obligatory SRF, my 1st guess. They must have feared that without SRF forced on, many will be put off by the so called "expert level seasonal" difficult racing with changing weather. We know, players can use SRF if they need or want to ( when they can't win without it ) , but it seems PD assumes that we are mindless drone who can only play well if guided with greyed out option.

With that decision, the rest of us who do not need or want to use SRF will have to suck it up  To lessen the SRF effect, don't slide the tires too much :sly:

What I'm doing is something called retaliation.

Don't worry, it shouldn't.

For those who want a realistic driving experience and not a game with NFS-like physics, it does.

I honestly don't know if I want to do these now thanks to this screw-up. OPTIONS, PD.OPTIONS.

Man, I wish people would settle their disputes in PM's. Nobody cares about personal issues in a thread about SEASONAL EVENTS. It just hijacks threads into an attention seeking mess.

On topic: Are other aids forced on? Are these events challenging on the harder compounds?

I was psyched when I saw the event lineup. Just what was needed was some longer events. Very disappointing of PD to force the most physics bending aid available.

Retaliation against what exactly? It's already been explained to you that your issue with online races has nothing to do with single player events.

Not that I remember, just SRF. I did the Spa race in a stock 908 and started on intermediates with 30% rain. That went up to 90% over the laps and the AI ended up crawling around and I won by 1min+.

So I'm not allowed to defend myself? That seems pretty unfair.

Not calling you out but just curious, is it preferable to do endless rounds of 400-500pp road cars on Comfort Softs? I am enjoying this seasonal a lot, and I hope running with ABS off makes me somewhat hardcore ;) Seems to me PD are trying to meet everyone's demands but they're always going to let someone down (I've skipped many Seasonal events lately myself). We're probably never going to have good AI in GT5 so we're stuck chasing the rabbit and nerfing our own car (but at least now we get rewarded more for doing that). I just wish they'd put La Sarthe in there more often.

Suzuka in a stock HSV (570pp) on hards was tricky the first time, easy once you know what to expect; Nurb was pretty easy in a G37 (558pp I think) on mediums. I did them with all aids off (ABS off too) except that pesky SRF.
