NOTES:
This is one of my favorite cars in the game. Although it has a little understeer in fast sections (because of no front downforce), the 4WD really helps in the more technical sections. I won this race by over 1min30sec, so you should have no trouble winning with this car 👍

Thanks again. Not the easiest car to throw around the ring, but got the job done:)

Was doing great on the Suzuka Circuit!

By 4th lap I was already in 9th place, when all of a sudden, everybody except first pulled into the pits. No problems I thought, first was only 12 seconds away. Rain was only 19% at the time. I was gaining fairly well. By the end of the 5th lap I was only 8 seconds behind. But now the rain was upto 30% Started slipping around, but still managed to get within 2 seconds. By the end of 6th lap, the rain was 40% and I'd dropped back about 15 seconds. By the end of the 7th lap, the rain was 50% and I was back to 10th place. By the end of the 9th lap, the rain was 59% and I'd gone right back to 16th :(

Needless to say, I should've pitted and changed my racing hard for wet.

I was using a YellowHat Tomica GT-R. Straight off the bat it handled fantastically! Enjoyed driving it right upto the wet weather :D

I didn't use the turbo and the race was pathetically easy.....I think you should be a little more circumspect about your generalisations!

I was being circumspect, as I was referring only to those using a turbo. Therefore I made no generalization either. But you did good, mate..Most smart-@$s fools I know cant even spell those words.
I found it easy with a non-modded car as well. I know a turbo is within the challenge regulations, but it aint within GT500 regulations. Anyhow, thanks for your senseless, passive-aggressive input.

Using a turbo is not cheating, it is within the race rules. #justsaying

Sorry, I was under the impression that an unfair advantage over your competition was the definition of cheating.

Whilst the races aren't hard whatever you do I don't know why people are slapping on racing softs. They're NEVER needed, use racing hards at the most, at least give yourself some sort of challenge.

I finally won the GT500 race with a weider Honda. I stayed on RS tyres for the entire race, and, when the rain got fairly heavy in lap 7, I inherited second place, from 9th as the rest of the pack dived in for Inters. Driving carefully I was 5.9 seconds behind the leader at the first check after the Finish line on lap 8, took the lead on lap 9 at the hairpin, then spun at the final chicane, dropping back to 2nd. I was 4.0s behind at the line for lap ten and 1.5 seconds behind before the hairpin, taking the lead under braking for Spoon.
Great fun and I'm really chuffed I pretty much kept it on the road with 60+% wet road and RS. I then silvered Nordscheife with my tuned Ferrari 458, failing to win by under 10 seconds, again sticking to RS for the entire race, although I did spin a couple of times! The car will do it one of these times!

GT 500: Suzuka Circuit / 10 Laps

Bought a Nismo GT-R.

The cars start half a lap in front.

You have no way of even catching the 15th car.

Then there are penalties for shortcuts, so all the fun is taken out.

What a joke, I won't be competing, as they say on Dragon's Den...

I. AM. OUT.

Wow, and your input wasn't pointed or overly aggressive to those who chose to run the race however they feel especially as it's within the rules defined by PD for the race.

Grow up or grow a pair I don 't care which!

tyvm for your time and for your information Argon56 .....i ll begin my try with lamborghini nomad diablo ( i love this car) and after i ll follow your strategy.....nothing personal GTP_CargoRat ....my grandaughter doesnt play gt5...yet...
Happy Holidays to all of you and your famillies:)

IMHO...I think of SRF as strictly a handicap. Think of it in terms of golf. The handicap system used in that sport has never been considered cheating, it's just a way to level out the field. But I agree that it should always be an option.

The problem with SRF though is that it's 100% make believe. It's a made up force that bears no resemblence to real world physics. To force that on in a game that is supposed to be simulating the real world is somewhat backwards. I wouldn't even mind that much if they forced ABS or TCS on, at least they are (trying) to represent real world driving aids.

For those having difficulty with the non TT events, Use the tunes by Shoe67 on page 7 and the race strategies provided by Argon56 on page 11.

Okay so I did these events in reverse order

Racing Cars: Spa Francorchamps / 10 Laps
Car used: 2J 650pp (Tcs:0 - ABS 1)
Result: Totally crushed the field, I think I lapped up to 12th place by the end, was kind of fun, may try the race again an an LMP car

Tuned Cars: Nurburgring Nordschleife / 3 Laps
Car used: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 '08 (Premium) with tune by Shoe67 (but without the weight ballast) (Tcs:0 - ABS 1)
Result: Won on the second attempt by 45.06sec

GT 500: Suzuka Circuit / 10 Laps
Car used: Toyota Yellowhat YMS Supra '05 (Premium) - tune by Shoe67 (Tcs:0 - ABS 1)
Result: 1sec behind the leader at the start of lap 8, leader pulled into the pits, cruised to victory by 40 something seconds.

Massive thanks to Shoe67 and Argon56 👍

P.S - Best time on the TT is an 8:05 - not sure if I will bother for gold as I already have 2 level 23 ticks ans about 8 1000's

All SRF does is increase the grip levels to ridiculous levels.

OK, it makes the cars dead to drive as they don't move about, but it's the same for everyone... there's no point in complaining about it people, just take the cash and move on.

Tried to go the full Suzuka race on RH's. Stock Motol GTR w/o abs bb of 3/1. Everything was going ok until the track got soaked! Sipping and sliding ensued and had to block the charge from behind. Next ran RM's and won. Barely rained that time so the leader didn't pit.

I'm so used to running on RH's as my maximum race tire that I had to keep adjusting my driving for the added grip. Then kept trying to determine when SRF was coming into play. Got bored with the car's behavior quickly and ran the TT.

Best way to make the most out of these is run less grippy tires and turn off abs to at least make braking more difficult. Still SRF just makes them feel too weird for continued races, shame.

It doesn't really matter about this event, it's just one set of races but it needs to be made to clear to PD that we do not want this to happen again. If you don't inform someone you don't like something they'll just keep doing it. Not that they're likely to be reading these threads but ah well.

My lamborghini nomad diablo gt (no tune)won very easy in suzuka with racing soft tyres and with no pistop (strategy Argon56 ):)

Thanks for this. Used almost exactly the same and also won by 24 sec lol
Like You said it's easy to drive, and VERY easy on the tires:)
Thanks again:tup:

No problem 👍 always here to help

Whatever that is.

Then in the 700, lots of Hybrides, how can they be in it, I got one but its 714 when bought!

Oh and if anyone can tell me how realistic is to have the leading car start half a lap in races do say, I am dying to know.

All the motor races I have seen have the cars all together, you know, at the starting grid.

It's just to fill up the grid, there aren't enough Le Mans cars below 700PP, plus it makes it trickier.

The reason they start so far ahead, is due to partly the fact you will be quicker than the AI normally, and even more so in the wet. The AI just isn't quick enough sadly.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I span out on lap 7 at Suzuka, restarted and at the end of lap 1 the whole field pitted. I was leading by end of lap 2. Not really a glitch as you have to have to complete a large chunk of the race - it won't save you time.

spun out twice now at a stupid place trying to recover from SRF kicking in when I didn't expect it.

both on lap 6/10

I hear ya. I kept fish-tailing, because every time i'd use my skill to correct it, SRF would correct it at the same time making my correction unecessary. I can't not correct it, it's instinct. I do it subconsciously without even thinking.

This forced me to have to go much slower than i'd usually be able to. Took me ages to catch that Hybride C60 at Spa! I had to use the Hybride myself to match it. Usually my Peugot 908 would have rocked, but with SRF...Too slow. :banghead:

I HATE SRF!! I reckon PD should have disallowed it instead! 👎

i've been playing GT since GT1 and this is the most frustrating, difficult & rediculous seasonal event i've ever played! I don't mind a challenge, but this is just plain rediculous in my opinion! I've golded almost everything & even won the Ferrai F1 & Lamborghini events, but this just makes me mad, period!

So, in other words, you think cheating is fun because that is exactly what cornercutting/shortcutting is, its cheating. Apparently you're not ready for a big boy game yet. If you want to play like that, I would suggest a more arcade type racing game for you. Maybe try Mario Kart or something along them lines. The penalties are there for a reason. You've already got SRF locked on, what more do you want?

In other words, it makes cars undrivable to the point where we have to drive slower than we usually would. 👎

PLEASE PD...Never force SRF on us ever again! :dunce:
