animateria,you do know that you don't have to find all the hidden races.You can just go to the garage and select World Map and it will list all of the races you have done so far and wich are completed and wich are not.This way you don't have to spend ages looking for every race.And there are lots and lots of them.

So I can accomplish 100% ? Even when the game is over? I should check when I get back home....
 
Im thinking of buying this game. I didnt mind NFSU but i didnt like how over the top the kits were.

The main thing Im looking for is the trueno on the downhill drift. Is it any good?

If you liked the other NFSU at all then you will absolutely love this one. Just buy it you wont be disappointed. This one is 10x better than the other one. 👍

Click on the link I put in the previous post then go almost to the very end. I posted pics of some of the vehicles I have. Miata, Mustang, Hummer and mabey one other SUV.
 
Ive unlocked some unique engine upgrades, body upgrades, wheels (on the Miata right now) and I think 1 more unique item.
A couple people in here already beat the game. I dont think 100% but they said they still beat it.

Do you have any kid of capture device or even a webcam that you can take pics with. A "Dazzle" is only about $60 and you can take any pics off the PS2 and videos with that.
 
That worldmap thing really works!! I can race all the races I missed and with my Impreza!!! At least I get to use the damn car at some point :indiff:
 
Has anyone noticed that you don't get payed if you use the World Map feature to race instead of driving to the races in Free Roaming? Or am i just doing something wrong?
 
I havent used the world map yet. I did try out the Mustang that I was sooo excited about winning. As sad is it is for me to say... my Miata actually corners a lot better. I tried for over an hour last night trying to tune that Mustang and for the first time I actually started losing races 5 in a row!!. So I switched back to the Miata now. Its a real shame since I spend sooo much money on upgrades for the Mustang. It sure sounded sick though. :dopey: Oh well back to the ricey sound of the Miata.

I noticed that too.What you need to do is when the race starts restart it and you should get the money and points at the end of it.
 
I'm new to this thread as I only got NFSU:2 yesterday. But I do like it. I don't usually like arcade racing games but actually NFSU:2 is much better than I thought it would be. I'm really enjoying it! Kinda reminds me of an RPG game in some ways!
 
I got it yesturday and its really fun. The rice is a little over the top but that was to be expected. I love the trueno, i got it straight away and I havent used any others. The drift is fun but downhill drift is awesome. Im only up to my second sponsorship contract so I still have a faisr bit to go.

you mean dont get paid if use the GPS to reach a race point?

Well, everything is unlocked in career mode except the widebody mod. It can be used in the car modify section for the quick race but not yet in the career mode. I've read that you have to win 11 Outrun challanges in the final (fifth) part of the career mode. Anybody done it yet?
 
Is there anyway to go back and view all the DVD and Magazine covers?? And what do you get for beating outrun races? the pay is only 100bank and no rep points....So what's the point?
 
If you win a certain amount of Outrun races in each part of the game (from 2 to 5) you can unlock special unique parts. They significantly boost your cars visual rating or performance and are free the first time you get them (you have to race to a location, much like the photo shoots).

Hoods - 4 wins in stage 2
Performance choice - 3 wins in stage 3
Rims - 6 wins in stage 3
Spoiler - 4 wins in stage 4
Vinyl - 6 wins in stage 4
Performance choice - 9 wins in stage 4
Performance choice - 6 wins in stage 5
Widebody kit - 11 wins in stage 5

You may unlock them all at the end of the game but I had a prob trying to unlock the Widebody kit after I had finished career mode so they may have to be done during each specific part of the game.

Good question. I was also wondering the same thing because some of those covers look sooo good if you know what I mean. (no I don't mean the cars) :lol:
 
You can view them by going to the garage and selecting "View Rewards".
From the main menu you go to Career>Continue Career>View Rewards.

I just checked for this on the PS2 and I still can't find it.
This is what I did:
Career> Resume Career then it takes me to these options
Return to explore mode, world map, car select, change parts, performance tuning dyno, view signed sponsors, save, quit.
 
That's odd.I assume the PC and PS2 version are the same.There is a menu called View Signed Sponsors but on the PC version it can be found under View Rewards together with View Magazines and View DVD Covers.

Being as involved in American import tuning as I am, I cant help but feel sick when I see what happens to these cars. Little to no real parts, and the parts that are included look inspired by beaterz.com.
This is what happens when some programmer who has no idea about import culture creates a racing game.
It may be somewhat fun to play, but its ugly as hell. When will some smart programmer combine the real-life customization of Auto Modellista, the street racing of Midnight Club 2, and insanse speed and destruction of Burnout 3?
I can dream.

Worst? Gee that is harsh... BTW if you mix all of those in you get a game that has no definitive direction... Well first off.. It has to be an arcade game... But then real cars mean that people would not like them with physics like BO3 or MC2... Auto Modelistas exterior customization is great... But where is the tuning? BO3... none.... MC2... none.... Auto Modelista... not sure... Anyways.........

BTW I agree that the bodykits are ugly (I only put it on for the mags and then turn put them off...) But exterior you've been bagging about isn't IMPORT TUNING stuff... All though the game does not have realistic upgrades (Nitrous with turbo on a N/A car? wtf?) I think it was done so that people can drive their favorite car without getting penalized on the performance... It is an arcade game as the creators said... And it is almost tradition for the NFS series to have a mixture of sim and arade with a closer tie to arcade (HP2 was arcade... Look at what the cops do!!)....

Worst game ever is an overstatement... But not surprising cause the series started with big discontent from some people anyways....
