Well - Visited a friend over the weekend. Brought the PS2 of course... Well, Mike, as him name is, is from NY - So of course he had to see the course.. So, if you're going round NY, clockwise, immediatly after the roundabout, entering the small straight, you'll see a building where the windows has 4 (5 ?) red / orange awnings...

That's Mikes dads restaurant 👍

Gotta love PD and their attention to details !....

Flerbizky,

What're the chances of you getting a picture of this? If I recall correctly, someone posted real life images of the Seattle Track in GT3. If we could do the same, and post up real life images of the real tracks, it be a great thread.

That was me as well - and I'll make a couple o' shots when I get home... And get Mike to get me a picture of the restaurant in real life as well !....

Impressive.

Hopefully someone will get some pictures up.

👍

Yeah now that sounds cool, at least they were in NY when doing it ... and not just sucking it out of their thumbs ! :)

You realize the race course is of course Times Square like the Photomode.

I usually use that restaurant as a point where to brake when driving the reverse version of this course. :D Didn't know it was a restaurant, just looked at those orange thingies.

Thats really cool. Get those photos up tell em to get a good street shot also so people can see the crowds and traffic.

Another good touch is when in a car say the mazda 787b use the chase view and look back. The wind screen wiper wobbles when you redline. Same with the airbrake on the mercedes SLR.

Good to Know, PD look after us,

Nice One for spotting it though Flez 👍

If PD spent so much time in NY getting the track so authentic, you would have thought they could have modelled just a few more US cars while they were over there. Same goes for Euro cars aswell! Christ, I'm asking for more US cars and I'm BRITISH! Just shows how biased PD were. Skyline this, RX7 that, blah blah.

Ok, sorry, that was a bit off topic, and a bit of a rant, BUT IT BUGS ME TO DEATH!!! :yuck:

Got something against RX 7 ? :D

Now if only they'd included a GOOD RX 7 (not the boat assed FC or the Ricer craved FD!)

Why cant PD put in any British tracks. I want to race round Oulton Park in a touring car (prefrebly a British one). It would also be cool if they did put in the likes of Oulton Park and the Audi A2 cause then I could scan some pics of me driving an Audi A2 round Oulton Park and see the difference between real and computer generated graphics. PD is very much like Japan rules the car world. All I will say is he needs to put more effort for the English cars and deffinatly need some English tracks. And yeah we do need more American cars but my priority is to get more English cars and need to get more then 0 English tracks onto the game. Seriously I am starting to get fed up with all this Japanese that the game seems to be full off.

Nice, love to see those pictures 👍 👍 👍

Nothing against RX7s whatsoever. Great cars.

But when they put in so many different types of RX7, Skyline, NSX etc, it just does my head in. The game boasts over 700 cars. In reality it's more like 600. Just look at the Honda dealers; about 4 or 5 NSX race cars, which to all intents and purposes are the SAME car with a different paint job. That's just waste. And the used car lots. Over 90% of the cars are Japanese. And of that 90%, about 40% are variations of Skyline. WASTE!

Why couldn't they have included Cosworths, XR3is, RS Turbos, Vauxhall GSIs, older BMWs like the E30 M3 (fair enough, they did include the 2002T), More TVRs (where's the new Sagaris?), Skodas (Fabia vRS, Octavia vRS), More Seats (Leon Cupra R), Noble, etc etc.

I could go on for ever - you get my point. And sorry for slightly hijacking the thread by the way.

And British tracks - YES, YES, YES!!!

Maybe we just have to face it - PD are biased.

I'm glad they are biased as i absolutely love Skylines. :D

If PD were an american company then the game would be biased towards yank tanks and then all the Japanese car fans would complain so I guess you can't win lol.

Anyway yeah PD's attention to detail is great especially when you can pick out someone's restaurant lol

I was in Paris last week, and spent far too long looking at the map, trying to work out where the two Paris track ran. If I'd worked it, I'd have taken some photos and they'd have slipped nicely into this thread.

Maybe PD should be Swiss. Lol then the game might be a bit less Biased. Lol I am going on a mission to get British tracks and also British Touring Cars on to the game. Lets try and make PD a little less Bias hey!

I couldn't agree more!

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say that they slipped up on their attention to detail in the Seattle map. In kind of a major way. They included the King Dome in the background. It's in the right place, but the King Dome was converted into a pile of rubble back in March of 2000 (on the same day my wife and I returned home from our honeymoon!). Of course, maybe they included it for sentimental value... I have to admit it's kind of nice to see it immortalized like that.

We know that.. Search ;)

Although, with all due respect etc. Kingdome and Safeco Field DID indeed live next to each other - although for a very short time....

As promised... (A day late....)

Well - The grease joint is called San Domenico - and Mike has been unable to produce some exterior shots.. He's working on it though...

Absolutely amazing.....your friend is now part of PD history! That would have to be cool, to be in a video game.....

This is vaguely related - but a logo I designed appeared on the Cusco Impreza in real life, and consequently is included in the game.

So in my own small way I too feel like I'm a part of PD history :)
