If some1 can post any pics of the Bently Speed 8 from the game. When I can get on the internet from home I will post some pics I took of it when It was doing a display at Oulton Park. (Yes I took the pics myself they are real).

I have some footage of the Bentley Speed 8 at goodwood from last year - i'll try and dig it out :)

When I go this year i'll be sure to take some proper pics of all the GT4 cars I can and host them somewhere - Heres some of last years:

Maybe PD should be Swiss. Lol then the game might be a bit less Biased. Lol I am going on a mission to get British tracks and also British Touring Cars on to the game. Lets try and make PD a little less Bias hey!

If PD were Swiss then we would all be in trouble.

The Swiss have some of the most draconian car legislation in the world, the maximum noise limit is so low that a lot of cars are illegal (kiss goodbye to all your TVR's can't sell them) and Motorsport is outlawed (go and check where the Swiss Grand Prix have been held - France).

Emmision legislations are very, very strict and speed limits are enforced with a vengance.

Apart from a few design companies, no volume cars are produced by the Swiss.

GT being made by the Swiss, I hate to think what the end result would be like.

LOL

Gotta love PD and their attention to details !....

Well, they had 3 years to get it right... :yuck:

Cool about your friend's dad's restaurant.

Got something against RX 7 ? :D

Now if only they'd included a GOOD RX 7 (not the boat assed FC or the Ricer craved FD!)

Bah. Try finding a 13B 1st gen GSL-SE. The FD might be ricer-craved, but it's still a darn fine car in stock trim. Light makes right!

BTW, I own neither but have driven both.

If PD were an american company then the game would be biased towards yank tanks and then all the Japanese car fans would complain so I guess you can't win lol.

Wrong.
KY has stated several times that he creates GT games for himself and that he puts it out so that everyone can join in on the fun. What he wants in, goes in, what he doesn't, doesn't.

So enjoy it while he builds 'em, cause one day he won't, and I can tell you that everyone who keeps complaining that he doesn't "put this in, have enough of that, etc." surely won't change his mind to come back.
And then won't you just be a sorry guy huh?

Not to mention that many "Japanese" (by the way, that term is really racist so don't use it anymore........so is yank) cars are made in America now.
Titan, Civic, Corolla, and many more. Yet many American cars are made out of country in Mexico and Canada.
In fact, some of the japanese owned cars are not only made here, but are made with american made materials and designed here in the states too.

Plus, many "american" cars aren't even american when you think about it.
Chevy Prism [toyota corolla], Dodge Stealth [mitsubishi3000gt] , eagle talon [mitsubishi eclipse], plymouth laser [same], Saab 9-2 [subaru impreza wrx drivetrain and engine] (Saab is owned by GM and it's design team are based out of a GM plant here in America)
I can go on for a long time with these lists.

Maybe everyone should just ignore who own's who, what is built where, and what car is in what game and how many.
Maybe you should all just let KY make his damn game and shutup. If you don't like it, go buy another game instead and let us enjoy the gift that ky and pd have given us.
(pissed? yeah......I hear people on these boards whine everyday about how KY and PD suck because they put 50 skylines in. Well that's too bad. Maybe you'll do better when you make your own game? I doubt it.)

I wish PD can do all of the track in the world 👍 👍
that would be awesome wouldn't it?

blah blah blah...whine whimper......hey why dont you go start a thread for people to whine about all the complaining.......and the topic of this thread has nothing to do with a complaint about pd ....in fact it's complimenting their attention to detail on the tracks......

...besides that i completely agree with you 👍

pd attention to detail? right, thats why they still have the Seattle Kingdome on the Seattle track.

Yeah, we covered that on post#24 & 25. ;)

P.S. I agree with S31Ender. KY is Japanese, GT is an Japanese game series(yes, I realize it's being marketed worldwide). I think he's doing his best to put in as much American, European, Australian cars as possible. I can understand the frustration, but calling him "biased", like he's some sort of racist is uncalled for, IMO. Thanks, S31, also for letting them know about calling people/things "Japanese" or "yank". :)

ya oregon rocks but i wish we had a track worthy of gt4...i know i've seen some cool stuff at pir ...... I guess even if the pictures they used of seattle were a little outdated..(i guess they couldn't afford to fly back in the mean time) it's as close to home as we can get....i wasn't aware that that building was tore down ...it's been a while since i've been over there so it looks like seattle to me :sly:

I think they left the Kingdome in there for sentimental reasons, like Poseidon suspected.

If they ever include Portland in GT(0% chance of this happening, unless I become the President of Sony or PD, year 0% chance of that, too), it's got to be an city/street course. On I-5 South, as you approach Marquam Bridge over Willamette river(I probably spelled both of those names wrong), I've called that area "GT strech", since Gran Turismo 1, just because you can haul a** there, and the scenery reminds me of "special stage" tracks from the game. :D

The attention to detail is spotted. Sometimes it's extreme, others it's barely there.
However, I think PD did a good job of creating many different types of locales.
We have tight mountain roads and rally courses. We have broad high speed race tracks. We have very technical race tracks. New, old, short, long.
Even the use of lighting is nice. It's not all one type of light. You can actually tell if you are racing in morning, noon, afternoon, or evening. Combine that with the cars and it's amazing.
The only beef I have other than the inverted TV lines bug is that when you drive on the italians course......ummm. almifi or whatever it was..........when you drive near the rock face halfway through, the car shines too much in the shadow. It makes it look too glossy and VERY unreal. Not just videogame....but almost as if it was intentional. I think that's the only "attention to detail" area they needed to work on.

But given the specs of the machine they had to work on (an aging PS2 platform) they did a great job.
Here's to GT5 on PS3!

ya.
I lived in Japan for two years and it angers me when I hear someone here in the states use the term." With that in mind also, I am an american and I hear others from around the world refer to the US population as "wasteful yanks".
While that is true for many (just owning a car puts you in a more wastefull catagory compared to China or Japan where only 9 percent of the population own their own car compared to the 78 percent in the US.) I for one am not one. I have respect for the environment and I don't think I'm better the anyone else just because my country happens to be the most powerful nation in the world. (which it got that way by "borrowing" and not paying back, from many other countries).
The african-americans/native africans/all peoples of black descent hate it when others call them the N word or the japanese the J word the americans have an insult too, Yank.
Which by the way, in case no one knew, during the civil war of the US before it WAS the US............the south called fighters from the north, yankee's which is now shortened to Yank. It's interesting to know that the north was fighting FOR the freedom of blacks in America, the exact opposite reason why many non-americans call us Yanks.

Many people on the boards write the term as an abbr. of the word Japanese. Some don't know what the term means, most do. If people can't take the time to write out the word Japanese so that they may avoid using racial slurs in their posts, well, then they just aren't respectful.

In fact. I would like the moderators to give it serious thought to adding a rule to the forum that posters may not use racial slurs......even if they are only using them for abbr. That would mean everyone would have to type out Japanese or maybe use Jpn instead (which is the official abbr. for Japan.)
It's about having proper respect. And it only shows what people really think if it's allowed to continue.
Remember, there are people of a young age who attend these forums..........do you really want to be teaching your kids to call everyone racial slurs? I didn't think so.

Wow, if you can see your home/shop in Gt4, SUE! SUE I SAY. SUE!

 Sorry for the caps ;)

I'm not a racist nor do I in ANY way encourage, approve or condone insulting people on their beliefs, colours, rituals etc.. But what does this all have to do with Mike's dad's restaurant in GT4?

Not directed towards S31Ender.
I just used your post cuz' it's the last one.

I meant they should be swiss becasuse the Swiss are neutral and there fore they might have had a more neutral stance and had some British tracks and some more cars on the game.

omg, people get offended over the littlest things these days...

anyway, that restaurant is cool, pd's detail is very good 👍 im spending a lot of time just driving slowly around the tracks to look at the detail

So is Eire, I say let the Irish has a go, at least they go nuts for cars and motorsport.

BTW this post is just as toungue in cheek as the last (hence the LOL at the end).

Mustang-Man posted this in another thread. I thought it applied here.

"Next time you're hooning around the narrow dirt roads of Tahiti Maze, look up.

Throughout the race two or more planes can be seen flying around randomly like they are lost.

First thing to look for is the jetstream, once you've found one try spot the plane (tiny black dot - but you can sort of make out wings & stuff). If you manage to see both while you're stationary or moving in a straight line then you will actually be able to see the planes moving!

It sort of explains why a lot of the replay camera views have a fair amount of sky in them...

Good stuff Polyphony!

I hope this hasn't been mentioned before."

Stop the whining about the cars in the game, children. This thread has nothing to do with it.

(Wow...that was loud. I need an asprin.)

In any case, I also noticed that the New York circuit also includes the Late Show with David Letterman studio, on the start/finish straight just before the rundown to the roundabout. He's likely America's greatest motorsports fan.

Which is particularly funny considering Jay Leno's car is in the game...

lol, i only just noticed the man in the grand canyon that jumps out and takes a photo :scared:

he just jumped out in front of me and sent me into 2nd place cus it made me drive into the side of the road

the scenery is VERY nice on that track

Hey rocket boy, Saab is from Sweden....
and yes we all know chrysler has sold out to to JPN and EUR, no need to remind us. But lots of great cars are built here....
Stangs, Focus, Vettes, S7, Mosler, Viper....
And the plants are in Mexico or canada for some because labor and land are cheaper there, thus keeping costs down on all fronts. Just like platform sharing and engine sharing. How many Ford's have used the 4.6l motor? Lots! Stang used it back in 64, still does, F-150, Crown vic, Fairlane, Falcon,..... very many cars sue that motor and it keeps costs down. Like the PLymouth Laser, Mitsu Eclipse, and Eagle Talon. All the same, but built i nthe same place, but becuase of the similarities they all costed the same. Or like Saab using the Subaru WRX wagon platform for their new wagon. It keeps costs down and the world turning.

I do, have been over there a couple of times with work and its an amazing country with wonderful scenery, just wish they would let us drive around like our pants were on fire. :)

Someone else posted pics of the Tokyo track, and real life photos, to compare. They did a really good job there too! PD sure did the homework on the tracks for this game.

Cool to hear about the restaurant being in the game like that.
Same to the guy who made that logo on the Black Impreza.

I think they should come here to Chicago to make a track. LSD (not the drug, its short for Lake Shore Drive - actually a song about that road too), the L (elevated trains), Wrigley Field, Soldier Field (used to be nice looking, now deemed "The mistake by the lake"), Sears Tower, McKormick place (sp?), many interstates in the area.
