Night Races - Do they look "grainy" to you?

Not so much grain here as blocky shadow detail. Was going to fast to mind, and was concentrating on the driving, not paying too much attention to the landscape on 24 hour Sarthe endurance.

I had a grainy effect until I changed my PS3 display settings.
I set RGB Full Range (HDMI) to full and Y Pn/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI) to on.
I'm using a PC monitor connected via HDMI - DVI

GT5 at night now looks awesome.👍

I have never experienced something like this. Samsung LCD C650 46" - Game mode. Probably one of the best LCD screens out on the market back then.

I use a Sony Bravia 55" and I've never seen any issue with the dark areas. I did a lot of fine tuning on the picture before playing the game though. Out of the box, regular tv shows looked really good, but seemed a bit "disconnected". I went from a 65" projection to the HD, so I thought it was that. It wasn't. After an hour of trying out all of the options, everything looked right. Then I played the game and it was beautiful from the get go.
