Am I the only one who thinks the night racing in 6 is utterly amazing? The way the surfaces shine and the glare off the lights looks sensational. I don't think I've seen anything like this in a game other than Skyrim in terms of accurate simulation of night time in a video game.

Incredible stuff.

Definitely! Although on some tracks you cant see anything - like on Willow. Seems like your car is hooked with dynamo lights from a bicycle.

Yes very good. LeMans at night is scary accurate.

Would love an option to flip on the high beams from time to time.

Check button mapping, should be able to toggle to high beam from low beam. Low beam is green, high is blue on your HUD.

One disappointment at night that I have is that AI car reflections (at least when your right behind them) are utterly terrible looking. The AI cars ahead of you appear as very cartoon looking with no reflective qualities at all. It's almost as if the "car tessellation reflection model" that Kaz speaks about is not being implemented by the software during night driving. I'll try to post some pics that demonstrate what I mean.

It's amazing, as long as you don't want to be on track with other cars. With just your own car it looks spectacular. With other cars it's really hard not to notice that you're the only one casting light...

The best times to hunt rabbits are during the day. ;)

The Nordschleife is scary at night. Especially if you're in a Mk I GT40 trying to go through Pflanzgarten flat out to make it up for time you lost somewhere else.

Is it just me or did I never see the moon? But overall I love the nightracing too. Looks fantastic with all the lights Bathurst it my favourite. But where is the moon? :D

The night on Mt. Panorama is absolutely magnificent. Very distracting too, haha.
I was amazed on this one at night, seeing the city lights in the distance. It's so real and great! I hope by GT7 all of the tracks have dynamic time/weather. How would you feel about SS5 in the daytime though?

I agree that night racing in GT6 is amazing. The Nascar track at night just blows my mind, I just wish they added some fireworks to go along with the scenery.

I still have lots to do in GT6, but one of the first things I did was Arcade on the Nordschleife with I think a McLaren or something, I wanted to test the new lighting and stuff. I was incredibly impressed, even though it hadn't been copied to HDD yet. Looking forwards to more night racing, only done Night masters so far in career mode.

Oh, no, no, no... The car tesselation reflection model will only be available after few updates...

That would be super, because I spotted fireworks at La Sarthe at night. I need to fire up a night La Sarthe Arcade race and watch them. Also need to do this with the other tracks, like the Toscanas, which had fireworks. Loved to spend a while watching them in GT5.

The one thing that bugs me are night replays, because the headlights flicker almost like strobes as cars approach the camera. Seriously annoying, especially with a line of cars. PD needs to stick this into their To Fix list.

You have mentioned this before. You need to loosen up a little. Does it really matter that much?

Online, all the cars light the track. And if you aren't analysing the replays looking for faults it's pretty much a non issue.

Overall night racing in GT6 is super, but if you are constantly on the look out for faults, as you seem to be, contentment will never be your friend.

It matters to me, as I find it to break the immersion. I find GT5 night racing to have been better in that regard.

You find night racing in GT6 to be super, I don't. I have pretty clear reasons for why I don't like it, and I don't think they're totally unreasonable even if other people don't find it to be as big a problem as I do. Is that so wrong? Am I allowed to express my opinion without being told to "loosen up"?

But you said you haven't even bought GT6 yet...
