johnboy1112 are you in this championship?

and the only reason I put that go for gold was to bring the gold out in silvia :sly: haha i'll get rid of it.

I sent a pm to Xpower to see if he wanted to team up, unfortunately hes tied up Sundays these days, and i would probably be pushing my luck as Mondays are my play nights these days maybe a reserve??💡

I was wondering if there is a track list and which driving assists will we have? Just so I can practice and get used to cars before we start the series.

And also is the preliminary race at Spaghetti Efforts a track you made? (If it is could you share it online so we can download it?)

Still srting out the track lists so the laps add up to about 20 mins racing instead of 10 laps of each track and Ill upload the track soon, making it so half the track is wide for overtaking and the other half is tight and technical for control and cornering of the car. 👍

Wish I could make this series but NFL football is starting up soon on Sundays. And I'm a big fan of FOOTBALL. Race "time" is only thing holding me back. If it was couple hours earlier I would sign up and be ready every week. Sorry,:nervous: unfortunetly I can't make it. :ouch:

Hope it's a good series... and people join. Well organized fun series. Racers would love it.👍

Noooooooo. Not you as well ace! Johnboy AND xpower can't make the series either!!
Forget the football ace. It's only men dressed up in cotton wool trying to get a ball 10 yards. 10 yards!!!

Well if it's just 1 race.. 20 minutes average...then I think I can try to do it. Lets see the Track list 1st and how many there are too. Hope HighSpeed Ring is in the season this time. Thats my Favorite track. lol. As of right now I'm not certain yet.:indiff:

Shame, if you can't make it you WILL be missed. And someone else will have to get the great pictures. I might have a go, but mine are poor compared to yours. Good luck watching the football!

Not looking popular enough yet :S

I know. Don't know how we can make it more attractive to people. I guess if we post on here it goes to the top of the thread list?

thats why I said it, just to hope people notice :)

Know what you mean guys its getting harder and harder to fill a series these days we are finding it hard too:grumpy: Dont know if the game is starting to show its age hope not bump!:nervous:

I was just looking at the first post, it says about Racing Hards wearing better than Softs. Although this is true in real life, it isn't ingame. As you slide around more on Hards, it actually wears the tire down faster.

It depends how you drive and what track. Generally hards go a lot further for me than softs do. I get around 20 minutes from softs (depending on the track) and Hards usually last for well over 30 minutes.

yeah and also the camber and toe angles to put on for each different tracks. To look after your tires as well as making the corners easier to take depending on a track being a left handed circuit or right handed.

I disagree. I don't think the hards last any longer than the softs. They just give less grip, which is wrong. PD should really look at this.

Does anyone think using the RM Lexus IF will get any more interest than this so far? Might change it but keep witht the FF drivetrain.

I agree with this sometimes the hard wear quicker! I done this with my b spec driver just so I can get a consistent run and there didn't seem to be much difference in tyre wear.
They got it right in previous GTs so why can't they get it right now! Come on pd this is supposed to be a REAL LIFE DRIVING SIMULATOR!!!

FF? Both the Silvia and the IS-F are FR. The FFs are Civic, Integra and Golf (I may have missed 1), most are FR or 4WD.

Real life!? I got accused of being dangerous in a race yesterday. Yes I may of missed my breaking point a tad but if that ever happens again I'm throwing the game in bin. Some people need to go out for some air.

sorry FR :) very tired ... some mistakes can be made haha

Shame I missed it, I'll try not to have any work this sunday, so I can enter :)

Still too quiet for my liking :(

Yeah I cant see this one getting much interest (tdown)

I can't speak for anyone else, but I can tell you why I haven't joined this series, which I hope will help you attract more drivers.

1) Tire Selection

From the OP: There are NO tyre limits so choice of tyres is very important. Racing hards will have less grip but more durability whereas racing softs will have more grip but tyre wear is increased.

If the above statement was true then the open tire selection would be fine, but it is not true.
I was just looking at the first post, it says about Racing Hards wearing better than Softs. Although this is true in real life, it isn't ingame. As you slide around more on Hards, it actually wears the tire down faster.

What LancerEvo7 has said is true. Racing hard and soft tires do not have different durability; they only have different grip. Furthermore, racing hard tires will actually wear out faster because you slid around on them more. Because of this everyone will inevitably use racing soft tires. I don't like racing a car like the Silvia on anything stickier than racing hard tires.

2) Driving Aids
I don't like driving with any driving aids besides ABS set to 1. Since it is not fair for a driver with no aids on to compete with a driver with aids on (skid force recovery namely), I would have to use driving aids to be competitive in this series.

3) Track Selection
Either I'm blind or there is no track list in the OP. Obviously, there are tracks that I prefer and I don't want to join a series that doesn't have my favourite tracks and has tracks that I dislike. I need to see the scheduled track list before joining a series.

4) Signup Slots
From my experience, series that have a fixed number of signup slots are not successful compared to series that have qualifying each week. The reason for this is that many people who say they will race simply do not show up, and once a series has about 16 racers registered not many other people want to register to be an alternate or reserve driver. I have seen a series with open qualifying each week with over 40 people registered on have only 16 to 18 people show up for qualifying.
I only sign up for series with qualifying each week for each race.

5) General Organization of the OP
I've wasted time on too many series that failed because the organizer was unorganized. If the OP of a series is not well organized I will not join it. In addition to what I have already mentioned, like no track list, the following are things that I don't like about the OP:

The race start time is not correct: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=136. British Summer Time does not equal GMT. BST = GMT + 1hr.
Does qualifying start at 6:30pm BST or 6:30pm GMT? There is an hour difference between the two.

The OP doesn't explain the point system, and there is no parts list for the car to ensure no one installs parts they are not supposed to on accident. For example, are you allowed to install "rigidity improvement", increase the power with engine tunes and then use the power limiter to meet the series power requirements, etc. I like to race in a series where each car has identical parts installed.

**************************************************

As the series is organized right now, I don't see much of an advantage to racing in it versus random races online, which have no commitment requirements. Generally, I come to GTPlanet to race in series that have tire and driving aid restrictions and a field of identically equipped cars.

I kind of agree, I think there does need to be a track list.

I do not think driver aids should be banned. I think it makes for a more exciting series when people can drive how they want. This isn't as competitive as other some other race seasons, it is more lied back and for fun.

Regarding sign up slots, I think having this many spaces for a season works well here. As I think the racing would be less exciting if we need to split the field, or some people would not be allowed to enter. which That is not what this series is about.

I see what you mean about the timings, basically the time will be 6:30 in Britain, so it will be 6:30 BST, and when clocks change here it will change to 6:30 GMT.

I agree about the OP partly. I think there needs to be more info on the OP (partly because the website link doesn't take you to the right place) as many people can't be bothered to go and look, so I suggest copying some info onto here.

We're also not too bothered about what parts are on the car (I never understood it as there is no way to moderate it), we just go for Performance points, this makes the decision between Power, Weight and Downforce.

Fair enough. Driving aids may be for some people, but not for me.

You make a good point. If people are guaranteed a spot each week they won't have any anxiety about qualifying. However, series that have a fixed number of signup slots usually have a lot of trouble getting drivers to show up. All of the race series I participated in with fixed slots died a slow death because of poor turnout. That is why I personally don't join these kinds of series anymore. Do what you need to do, though. I'm just giving you my opinion.

Letting people add whatever parts they want is fine. The OP should be clear on all issues such as this and explicitly state that there are no tuning restrictions besides peak power/performance points. That's how I feel about it anyway.

I'll bugger off now. Good luck with your series.

Hehe, thanks, it has been useful :) Im sure iHealy will have found it helpful as well.

At the end of the day ... this structure worked with the last series so didnt see no reason to make any changes ... and by the time we would of had a start date the BST would go back to GMT so I didnt bother changing it. But yeah I realise this series hasnt got the limelight I thought it would have got 👎
