Do you think Nitrous Oxide should be implemented into GT5?

I've said it before and I'll say it again

I bet about 90% in this thread think that "NOS" is a magic button that gives you tunnelvision.

Nitrous injection is a pretty safe and cheap alternative for a turbo or supercharger. For example, the NX Express FJO controller controls when you spray based on two things; your RPM (window switch), and whether or not you're at full throttle (WOT switch). You can also adjust how much to spray within an RPM range. All of this is set via USB on a laptop. This way, you don't have to hit a button to spray like the movies, you don't spray at redline (which is no good). But in general, you want a window switch and WOT switch.

But, since turbo's are dirt cheap in this game, a nitrous setup is kind of obsolete. Should be fun though, if we could add one to the cars that can't be F/I'ed in game.

Thumbs up for Nitro! :)👍

Would be nice to see it again in GT6, it can help you out a lot on certain situations.

After reading all of these post I have a few things to say.
NOS is as safe as it is dangerous. If you do not take the time to reinforce your engine for any kind of added boost, catastrophic things will happen to your engine. Of course there is no engine failure in this game so what difference would it make?
I have seen people keep saying "it's a real driving simulator" that might be how it was thought up, but this game is far from a simulator. Last time I checked the simulators used for Drivers Ed and training Public Safety Workers, did not include a 900HP GT-R.
This game is used as a racing game and should be advertised as so!
There are plenty of other racing games that implement NOS why did they have to take it away:grumpy:
As a drag racer I think it would be a nice addition. Besides we got Hondas pushing 400HP so whats a little more:sly:
And for those who say well whoever is using it will always win. Untrue, first off NOS will completely change the tuning in the drag racing world. Also its about timing of when to activate it. (Use it early for launch or later for that final pull!)

These are my opinions so interpret them how you want.

Happy Holidays:gtpflag::cheers:

You can fit NOS to a car in real life, so of course it should be in "The Real Driving Simulator". However, it should only be an option, with the ability to enable/disable it in online rooms. It should factor into the PP equation as well.

👍

No place for it in circuit driving/ racing. Acceptable if a designated drag race option was made available for GT5.

Except the examples mentioned in this thread.

Because unofficial drag racing doesn't matter? Drag racing is all over GT5. That PD doesn't officially support with designated mode doesn't matter in the slightest. Drag racing is in GT, the players have said so.

Why would nitrous not be used for circuit racing, especially on circuits with long straights like nurb? Heck, when I raced motorcycles, there was a guy who had nitrous on his CBR 1000 for the front straight...

to me gt5 should have NOS again but with a option to turn on\off and always off to online

IMO, GT5 should definitely include Nitrous Oxide injections as an option.

Not sure why you all think they should limit it to the NOS brand of Nitrous Oxide Injection products though?

N20 (Nitrous Oxide) is sold and distributed by several other brands as well.

Obviously I'm being facetious here, but it's clear that not everybody realizes that "NOS" is not a real thing, and actually just the name of a brand that sells N20 (Nitrous Oxide) injection systems & related products.

I'm not stubborn and can admit I did not know that.

I always thought "NOS" was just street slang for Nitrous Oxide.

Thank you for clarifying :)👍

I always thought "NOS" was just street slang for Nitrous Oxide.

It's become that. Just like Xerox means to copy something, Kleenex means tissue, Rollerblade means inline skate, Google means search, Jeep means truck, etc. Certain brands are just so iconic, their names become definitions.

I just thought I'd make sure everyone knows the truth, because it's becoming a lesser known fact.
