i cant seem to find the option to load up garage cars in 2P

if it doesnt have garage cars in 2P, its gonna suck big times

I don't like this .. I don't like this at all, :scared:.

Its probably just a misunderstanding. Not everyone is perfect at reading Japanesse
That will suck if its not available, but then again, I spend most of my time in sim anyways, racing alone.

i read something along these lines in another thread: garage loads for 2pb were not included because when gt4 was initially set up for online play, eveyone needs to have the same selection of cars, so it was left out and instead replaced with a huge slection of cars that everyone will have. which really sucks ! i had a great time racing my friends in gt3 with my own cars ! we exchanged tuning tips and the like ! i hope that thread i read was wrong.. and happy new year everyone !

This can't be right... it would be completly stupid... especially with the LAN and NetWork options... driving arcade-style in MP? no ****ing way.

Aye carumba!, this is not the end of the world news but not far from it. It's so nice to race your own car, setup how you like it against your friends

well, since GT4 won't have online, i hope that their vaporware "online GT4" (if it ever comes out) has tuner cars too, but to make things fair they could have a mode where people could show just how good tuners are for different situations... like saying ok, you get 40,000k. pick the best car for this track (or tracks, if you could choose the tracks you were gonna run those 40k on) and tune it to the best of your ability. you'd be surprised how the much flamed NOS would be useless for tracks with lots of low speed corners and few straights.

Setting up your car is as much part of the GT as the driving itself. I can't believe P.D. took the two garage feature out. I would think it should still be available in the LAN Mode.

Anyone with the game confirm this??

Best part of GT series has always been me beating friends in underpowered cars all because mine was tuned.

I have GT4 and 'own garage' doesn't appear to be in 2P mode. What a kick in the teeth!

It's not a big deal for me, when I'm with my mates I'm out we don't spend much time on the PS2 (not that it's a bad thing if you do, we just don't). There is no garage option in arcade mode, however every car in the sim mode is unlockable in arcade, so you get access to all the cars, just not tuned ones. Not good news, but not the end of the world, GT for me has always been about the sim mode and I've never taken much of an interest in the 2player, especially with no AI on the track either.

If it's true it s*cks big time..... :(

hope that they than atleast have enough brain to do put the 2player battle with own garages in the PAL and NTSC-U versions of the game.....

has anybody tried sticking two memory card in the PS2 ,Maybe it won't show because it won't let two players race either with there own set of cars or both with tock cars?

I hope this comes in for the PAL version as I used this feature a lot in the previous GT's.

There is very little fun in driving arcade cars against other arcade cars... the setups for most of them are terrible... I used to spend 90% of my GT3 time in free run doing tracks buying new cars and tuning them for various styles and races... that's the most entertaining part of the entire game and to now see it's pointless is quite frustrating.

I'd rather lose 300 of the cars we have in the game in exchange for this mode back it's far more important than anything else.

Tuned only vehicles in arcade mode may be just so that the game is balanced. It may have been too easy just to tune cars to max and win arcade easily. Maybe its done this way to make arcade more structured.

Also the very term "arcade" should be a simpliefied version. Therefore having vehicles without tuning leaves this part of the game as an arcade rather than simulation version.

I'm very happy that long races can now be set in arcade mode, where I believe you can now set laps up to 50.

50 laps round the ring anyone? :)

I wonder if you ever played previous GT games :P

You could always set 2 player race length from 0-99 laps of any course that was available... which was typically all but Cote D'Azur.

You could never use 'tuned' cars to complete the Time Trials.. however you could use 'tuned' cars to race in the arcade races... but again... could is not would or should... you can just as easily use a nice normal arcade car in those races... and anyway this particular issue holds no bearing to not having memory card battles at all.

Not being able to use your own personalised cars to race anyone else ever is a bit of a downer don't you think? Kind of takes away the point of tuning altogether really... barely any point tuning a car to beat AI which you can pretty much beat easily with an evenly matched car.

I don't spend hours tuning my cars and taking pleasure in learning tracks just to race against AI who I leave in the dust. You can never beat player opponents, the fun of racing against players is unsurpassed... without my personalised tuned cars I may as well just play an arcade racer... it's pretty much the same thing.

GT1 and GT3 you could only set number of laps for 2 player - not for single player arcade.

Go back and check if you don't believe me.

GT2 you could set from 1-99

I hate split-screen, I never use it in any game. Cut your framerate in half and your screen, then you think that's fun? Blah! :yuck:

If it divided it up like each player has there own screen, like an actually [ ] (square) then it would be better...

Anyways, that's stupid, I'm sure they wouldn't just take that part of the game out, it makes no sense, if it is true, hopefully the US version will be fixed.
