No garage cars in 2P

no i don't think they do that, 2P garage might be unlockable like when you have to play arcade to open up new tracks and cars thats when 2p garage might open up

If it isn't in the Japanese release... I doubt they will include it in the American one.. You know the Japanese would be pissed at that.
 
I guess you guys don't have people you know irl who you want to race with using your own cars...

There is no internet play, I am fine with the lack of net play for now. However, not being able to use any cars but arcade cars in any form of multiplayer is stretching it a bit far?

Just think.. that lovely car you won the other day and tuned to do a sub 8minute nurburgring lap will never ever be used to race another human, merely AI who's cars will either completely demolish the car you take or get demolished themselves as they aren't in cars that are anywhere near as fast as you.

Then you might wonder to yourself why did you even bother tuning that car, you can do a sub 8minute in another car... and after all if you put enough upgrades into most cars I'm sure they'd equal it... so again.. why bother putting the effort in. It might be enjoyable to some, but I like to know that the effort I put into tuning all my cars and learning tracks actually is worthwhile and actually get used. If there is no way of using my cars in multiplayer then a huge chunk of gameplay has just been removed from me and many other likeminded individuals...

But then most people spend all their time whining that x car is not in the game or that we should have adjustable 'rim' sizes etc... what's the point in having anything if you can only use arcade to race others?

Why don't they just leave an option in where you can either say, garage cars or arcade cars... problem solved..

the arcade mode is completely useless in this game
u unlock the tracks in GT mode.

So is there nothing to be unlocked in arcade mode? no progression to acquire tracks and cars.
Its a Pretty pointless mode if not, its more like free race mode withot tuning.
 
Well, I don't do much with Arcade mode normally, but I do use it regularly for Free Runs. Being able to take any car out (Arcade or my own) on any track, at any time. If the Garage is removed from Arcade Mode, how the hell are we supposed to do Free Runs?
 
There's a free run option in the track villiages (real course, original course, etc.) in sim mode, but it has a small entry fee.

Myself, I don't tune my cars a whole lot anyway, nor do I have opportunities to multiplay very often (plus, the friends I play with aren't exactly experts....). So it's not a huge loss to me, as long as I can have all cars available in arcade mode.
 
I'm glad I didn't order this from japan, 2P tuned matches against my friends is the only reason I even play GT3. Beating the sim mode is boring and repetitive, but having 2P battles with cars we've built up makes that repetition all worth while. Looks like its Forza for me if this isn't fixed.
 
?? I just use "Run and Setting" in the garage in the SIM mode, you hit that, then select a track and its just you on the track with whatever car you have selected in your garage with the option to tune it before you start the race. Is this not in GT4's sim mode??
 
This will absolutly kill my Gran Turismo Championship...
A friend and I have tourneys, best of 3 four lap races. The previous champ chooses the car (from our garages) and the challenger chooses the course. These are extremely good clean races, we have been playing like this for years. I hope this isnt true...
 
Run and Setting in GT3 only had five tracks (Laguna Seca, Apricot Hill, Midfield, Test Course, Complex String.. and Swiss Alps to test the rally cars).

I just don't like the idea of not being able to Free Run my cars is all. Let's say I have a beefed-up Viper I want to take around Le Sarthe.. I don't want to have to pay a fee to do so.

Does Arcade Mode still have it's own Free Run, for the Arcade cars? Since many of my cars will be stock, I could probably be content with that.
 
Also has anyone noticed that GT4 prologue NY track looks better than NY track on GT4? Check it out for yourselves! The textures are mushy on GT4 NY track!
 
This is a disappointment. I found taking my lowly tuned cars out and spanking friends with them was the best part of the game... Toyota Vitz 1.5 RS vs R34 and crazy stuff like that... if I'm forced to use the arcade cars... /me shudders

I don't have the final game yet, so take this for what it's worth: The demo (with the Falken GT-R and Nürburgring) had a "time trial" mode that functioned like a free run mode. I would assume that the "time trial" mode present in arcade mode of the final game is the same, but I can't say for sure until I have it.
 
That's what I'm hoping, Sven. I think the "test" version of Time Trial appeared until GT3.. that's why there was a difference between Free Run and Time Trial. In the previous GTs (and most other games, for that matter), Time Trial was basically a Free Run.. just go out and drive for as long as you want.
 
Why do I have the feeling this is just one big misinterpretation?

I hope sony fix things for the pal version

Ignore all these negative points (slowdown etc) and GT4 is still an amazing game!!!! But not being able to race tuned cars against a friend is the worst. Me and my mate sat down yesterday aft for an intense racing session only to find our tuned beauties couldn't be raced against each other!!

This has taken 50% of the GT4 appeal away!!
 
neither could I until I fired up my first race on Nur track! It was my birthday yesterday and thats the day GT4 arrived through the post. And it was the most dissapointing day of the year!

Before you ask I LOVE GT1, GT2, GT3, GTC & GT4P

But GT4 falls very short of my expectations!!!!!!!!
 
There's really no need for you to repeat your opinions in every single frikkin' thread on the forum, you know. The one thread you already started is plenty... I don't need to read the same damn thing over and over again in every damn thread.
 
pd have lost their minds taking garage cars out of 2player it doesnt seem logical for me. its alrite for the arcade races but not 2player.
 
Is it just possible the 2-player memorycard battle is somewhere on the A-Spec mode? I mean thats where it was on the first GT game.
 
Ofcourse there must be a garage to load in 2player mode. If not, i dont see what the problem is, and that whould be really stupid.

Maybe you open it up when you have finished whole GT4. Or something else.

well, i cant be true. thats whould suck hard! :irked: , if its true, i will personally rape Kazunori Yamauchi. :mad:
