This is getting ridiculous
Forza 4 will be out before GT5, and will probably be better

^^^ Not that bad we have F1 cars so that's even better. I wonder if CART cars are willing to license with PD. That would even be better then IRL

Oh well, I`m sure a number of people here are disappointed(mainly from the USA) that indy cars are not going to be in GT5 but for me it doesn`t. Just means it`s less of a distraction from finishing the game since GT is biased towards production cars anyway. Maybe PD could do a INDY/F1 game later on or have the cars as DLC.

To be honest i didn't even know what an indy car was until i had to check it out because of that article so that fact that they are no longer in the game doesn't bother me a great deal. I can't see how OPM has lost their credibility, its one small piece of information from one story about one game, if the magazine was dedicated to GT5 i could understand but i think for the rest of the world this small mistake has passed pretty much unnoticed

IRL (Indy) Cars would make a nice expansion pack in DL :)

One F1 over all IRL am I right.

I had a dream last night, and in my dream the open wheel contingent in GT5 were European FIA GT2 cars. I watched them majestically sweeping through the cliff lined apricot hill chicane! Awesome

The IRL owns all the rights to CART/CC IndyCars after reunification.

IndyCars (present from IRL and past from CART/CC/IRL) still need to be GT5. You can't put Indianapolis Motor Speedway in GT5 without letting us race the IndyCars that made the track famous. The IRL, PD, and Sony better come through because I, along with millions of my fellow IndyCar fans, will buy a PS3 on the day GT5 comes out if IndyCars are in GT5.

The interesting thing for me about this is how the hell did OPM make a mistake like that in the first place? I'm thinking there's more to this than meets the eye. How do you accidentally blurt out the name of a racing series without any prompting whatsoever?

"All the cars have mounting points for machineguns and rocket launchers" - you get the drift? Where did that come from? I'm thinking PD might be secretly working away on either DLC or a standalone release based on IRL and the journalist got the wrong end of the stick.

Or maybe it's something that couldn't be completed in a reasonable time so they scrapped it and just said it was a mistake on OPM's part.

Yeah that's another possibility.

ETA: "Reasonable time" LOL

This is not good. IRL isn't in GT5. That means some of the most powerful cars in the game have been removed. So much for false sources and stupid magazine articles. It puts the rest of the announced features they detailed in danger of not making the full version or a lie. Isn't there something KY can do or PD to stop this happening again?

I care less about Indy cars, but that mistake made by PTOM isn't acceptable IMO. 👎

I think the moral of this story is never to believe something is confirmed until we've seen visual proof of it.

No IRL is no biggie for me. I don't expect open-wheel racing from GT-games.

What we also haven't seen is (other than perfect) weather and day/night cycles. That is something the OPM also sort of confirmed, but there's no proof of either. (A screenshot at night is no proof - we had that in GT4)

So, until I see it with my own eyes, I'm going to assume it won't be in.
