Which was going off the article we are discussing now.

Ok what are you trying to say? that OPM didn't conhfirm IRL? Because the article did say they would be included, thats what a conformation is, when its coming directly from a publication of sony.

Sony doesn't publish it, Future US(PTOM publisher, they also publish OXM and Nintendo Power) just pays Sony for the rights to be the "official" PS magazine. That's about where the connection with Sony ends. They also have retracted that claim if you aren't aware of the thread topic you are discussing.

Any further questions?

Motor trend and car and driver make mistakes all the time and retract them later. That's how it works in the print world. Don't take everything you read and see so seriously. Life isn't about GT5, and if yours is, you might wanna seek some help. Grow up...

Dont tell me to grow up, they lost their credibility, i dont care if its something normal, i also dont take it too seriously i just said that they lost their credibility

Yes I am fully aware that they retracted it, I don't just click random threads and not read the topic. Thats why I was mad in the first place. Do me a favor and dont quote my posts anymore and I'll do the same for you.

You're acting like a child, seriously.
How can you say you didn't take something seriously, when a small thing caused you to completely discredit anything the magazine does from now on? That's not taking it too seriously?

No can do. I signed up on these discussion boards to do just that. If you don't like to be proven wrong you might want to grow some thicker skin or you are in a world of hurt both here and in real life.

lol..............

Always bickering on this forum, never a dull moment.

It is a bit of a letdown, but you never know, this could just mean IRL isn't licensed but we may see a Indy car, just like the F1.. time will tell I guess.

Oh i could care less about being proven wrong. What irritates me is when people insult my intelligence by saying things like "if you aren't aware of the thread topic you are discussing.
". Sure i was wrong, and so was whoever wrote the news article (on this website) that said night racing, weather and IRL were confirmed. Because now everyone is saying that it was never confirmed to begin with. So you win, your right. Discussing is one thing, being a dick is another, and thats why i don't want to talk to you.

acting like a child? Wow, you are a serious member then?
When they confirmed IRL and this is wrong, than what is with weather and night racing on all tracks? I mean there was no proof in any way!

Maybe the trailer that those special people said they saw "Indy cars" in were actually not Indy cars, but F1 CARS!

They lost credibility.

Can you imagine if they made a mistake with a more popular racing series like Formula 1, the backlash would be extreme.

Hardly anyone cared about the Indycars

That preview was just a pile of bs. There was no new info at all and the they made up 'news' based on assumtions and ambiguity.

I bit of a disappointment, but a simple human error I suppose.

There is hoping they saw some other open-wheelers and got confused or something. I'd love to see more open-wheelers :).

I still find it a bit weird that PD and/or Sony didn't correct this earlier.

But delay or no delay, I can cope with the wait. I don't have much time every day to play games, so I can finish up other games before GT5 comes.

I'd love for PD to showcase a car every week to feed us :dopey:

I wonder why PD didn't step up and officially announce there wasn't going to be Indy after all this hype about it.

It was nothing to do with PD. They may have informed the magazine about it but definitely shouldn't do anything public themselves.

Maybe they thought they did have a deal and then IRL reneged on it before they signed anything. Maybe they wanted more money. Maybe thats why they are delaying the release because they already included it in the game now they have to remove them or still in negotiation but finally failed. Maybe we can just use the livery editor and put IRL liveries on F1 cars. :dopey:  :sly:

If true, I can't believe that either PD or Sony didn't put out a statement right away.

They let people think it had Indy in it this long? wtf!

It's not up to PD to let us know what's not going to be in the game everytime people start a new rumour. We only assumed Indycars would be included based on rumours from a magazine.

I bet the journalist saw that "indy" was in the game and not knowing it was indianapolis instead of the entire indy league.. could be bad journalism at it's finest (which we have seen a lot of when it comes to GT5 in all honesty).

Fixed.

Any further questions?

Precisely.

Frankly, people, some of you are very selective on the sources you want to believe in, especially depending on the information they bring you. I'm sure that if that magazine had say something like "no night racing in GT5", you would have gone "not until Kaz confirms it himself".

Lost all credibility? For a simple mistake? After which they apologize? Good, I will keep that in mind whenever someone uses Kaz's own words to prove a point, which I will counter by saying "he did say there would be online in GT4, he has lost all credibility".

Theres a difference in a developer saying theyre trying to make a feature into a game and a magazine stating something as big "exclusive" news.

Actually, if they wouldve said "no night racing", i wouldve believed them too, because that was more likely than the IRL news, at least to me. Actually, i dont even think anymore that we will get night racing on all tracks.

I missed the apology. Where was it?

Video game magazines are dead or dying shoddy journalism like that will only hurry the extinction

Sure, there is. That was not Kaz's case, however, since they actually got online into the game, but rather removed in the Tokyo Game Show.

magazine stating something as big "exclusive" news.

Magazines, and game developers always hype up their news/games. Why would someone read/buy them if they didn't? People seem to forget this.

And they were big exclusive news, until you found out they were false.

Actually, if they wouldve said "no night racing", i wouldve believed them too, because that was more likely than the IRL news, at least to me.

Doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that people said they have lost credibility, for a simple mistake (which they latter corrected). A mistake that Kaz actually commited, too: announcing something that later on turned out to be false.

I missed the apology. Where was it?

Just looked at the original post again. True, there wasn't any apologize. The image is enough for me. I can't see why it isn't enough for the rest, though. It's not like they took away something from people.

It doesnt work for me.

Gran Update is a slap in my face. What are they updating, their stupidity and trashy journalism?

Gran Mistake or something would have worked far better.

Its like they came out and said WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 will be a secret character in Final Fantasy XIII! only to come back in a later issue and say nope, he wont be in FFXIII, but fingers crossed for DLC.

This really ticked me off as I'm an Indycar fan, if they made the same mistake with lets say a much more popular series like Formula 1 the backlash would be much much worst.

I must say, I was really excited for it, even though i've never seen an indy race. It's a bit of a slap in the face.

It doesnt work for me.

To each his own, I guess. Some people really need to learn to control their anger, in my opinion. And this goes in general for everyone. Not to mention they have to remember Gran Turismo 5 is a game, not a lifestyle. And that this is a magazine. Moreover, I don't know why I'm even defending that magazine. The only thing I'm accomplishing is going crazy myself. It doesn't have to be defended at all. They probably don't know they are being insulted. And if they know, they obviously don't care, otherwise they would have posted an apology (which they shouldn't, since it's not their fault people take everything they read as facts). If they talked out of their 🤬, however, I'm sure they are having a blast.

There. ^^
