it's a definate no to lamborghini, ferrari and/or porsche being in GT4 as playable cars. it's been confirmed in this months issue of Motor Trend but motor trend said that you are able to race against some of the cars by those manufactures in the game so at least we'll be able to race against them in GT4

sad to say but it must be true because motor trend got that confirmation from a interview they had with the the maker of the GT games

hey but look at the bright side at least we can race against them in GT4

That is easily the stupidest thing I've ever heard. They have the rights to display the car bodies, driven by "intellectually-stunted" AI, but not by the player?

Come off it, "Motor Trend".

Ya I'm thinking it's stupid too but that's what they said in their article

That sounds to far fetched, I have to agree with Famine, its to far fetched to believe really. And even if its true, the body of the car will be in the game so the people will the X-Port will be able to get the cars. No point IMO

Yeah, that is completely BS. If you have the license, you have the license. There is no 1/2 license! Either they can display the car any way they want (as player car, AI car, background car, whatever) or they can't display it at all.

yeah that would be a bunch of crap. There wouldn't be any point of putting them in if we can't race them. Besides...that's what most of if not all of us want...to USE them...not see them. Plus i don't think I'm going to believe anything until we get a full car list. Because a few months ago, there was "confimination" that lambo's were going to be in the game. I read it in a thread on this board. Now they are saying that they are out? I'll believe it when i see it.

yea its impossible to follow all this bull that gets published ill believe what comes from PD.

That is 100% BS, if any of thoes cars make it into the game you wil;l be able to drive them, GT is about owning and tuning cars, PD wont waste disk space on cars that you cant drive, besides that, why in the name of god would they pay for a licence where they cant have the cars playable. Motor trend din't get thet from an interview, that pure BS, find the article online or scan it in.

what he says is 50% true. In the latest issue of motor trend(with the Ford GT on the cover) they say "unfortunately, Licensing Issues have left holes: Ferrari. Lamborghini, and Porsche are missing, though included in competing games." this is where he mis-understood. Competing games means need for speed, or PGR2 aka other games that sony dosent have. But on the bright side Porsche still has RUF to represent it in the game so we wont have to worry about them. Maybe Koenig will support Ferrari. But ya they wont be in the game period.

Ya I realized when i read the article again that I misunderstood it the first time I read it. Thnx for pointing it out

Porsche's in-house tuner isn't RUF. RUF has nothing to do with Porsche. In fact, Alois Ruf consider's his cars nothing like a Porsche.

RUF isn't a tuner company, Koenig is, if PD got the Koenig Ferraris in GT4 they would still need a Ferrari licence, RUF build their own cars with Porsche parts, so they look like like a Porsche but they arn't Porsche's.

I just hope lambo make it :(

Countach/Diablo/Miura would be ace :)

Too bad for him that he uses almost all porsche parts for his cars

On another topic lambo might have hope another direct quote this time from OPM November issue(Prince Of Persia on the cover) "Notable absences (at Least as we go to press) from the Fran Turismo 4 roster are Ferrari and Porsche, whose cars don't appear because of licensing agreements with other games. That doesn't mean the game is bereft of glamour, though. Expect some serious exotica to make an appearance, along with series favorites like the Skyline race cars and TVRs."

So there is still hope for lamborghini, which makes sense. In gt3 japanese release they were able to use a racing diablo. But it was taken out for all other versions due to "unfinished" licensing issues. So I would say lambo:in, Ferrari,Porsche:doubtfull.

that really sucks. but still don't understand VW owns Lambo so why can't they get the license to use the cars if there is already VWs in the game.GM is owns Chevy,Pontiac and Cadillac and all ther makes are in the game.

Almost every part on a RUF is built in-house. The only thing that is Genuine Porsche, is the car's shell, and some of the smaller component's. In the case of the CTR, even the Porsche body is customized by RUF.

why would they bother to put cars that you can race against but not be able to pick, I dont see the point....

if pd are putting cars on the gaem that we cant race with then simply just dont bother putting them on the game in the first place.

They're not, it was misunderstood, explanation is on page 1.

at least we'd be able to game shark them into our possession...so getting them in the game, any way possible is good for us

however, i doubt this will be the case (having them in the game, but unplayable)

what is laughable is that some people still hope for these marques in GT. yeah, and the maclaren F1
