Well, a McLaren F1 LM endurance car has been listed in the offical GT Prologue car list. Assuming the list I saw was geniuine.

Well I played the demo, and pgr2 was incredible. Demo has a skyline, ferrari dino and a trans am :). Don't judge it on the first game, the 2nd one easily eclipses it, seems to be better then gt3 and concept, but better then gt4? heh, we will have too see, but i doubt it. So before all the fan boys start clawing in to pgr2, i bet u any money if gt4 was on the xbox and pgr2 was on the ps2, they would kiss pgr2 ass. Some ppl find it difficult too accept that consoles they dont own can have really decent games too. Well I'm gonna enjoy em both so NYA! :D

Project Gotham Racing was a 1 dimensional game, and PGR2 will follow it. The only thing the game *might have over GT4, are its graphics, and that's due in part to the power of the XBOX.

If you want transparent gameplay, go with PGR2 and the XBOX.

If you want a quality game that offers on-road, as well as off-road vehicles, true to life handling characteristic's, the ability to upgrade your vehicle, etc. etc. Go with the unbeaten champ, Gran Turismo. :D

Your right about PGR2 being alot better than PGR1, weathier it will be a better game than GT3 remains to be seen IMO, I prefer the GT style of game, it is fantastic either way, and after playing it, I take back my comments on plastic looking cars, they look rather nice actually. The two things I wish GT had that PGR2 does are Damage and the full Nurburgring circuit.

GT4 has Koenig cars in the game. From the pics I've seen, they look like modified Ferraris, but cannot be called Ferraris since Koenig has to remove all Ferrari logos from their cars. It is the same deal that Ruf has to do with their Porsches.

Koenig are nothing like RuF, Koenig may remove the Ferrari badge on some cars but the car is still a modded Ferrari that came from the Ferrari factory. Ruf build al ther cars themselves, they use old Porsche bodies on some cars that they purchase from Porsche and some parts they use their own parts for the rest of the car and then they put it all together. There are no Koenig Ferrari's seen in GT4, not yet any way and if PD wanted them in they would still need some kind of licence with Ferrari and a contract with EA and another licece for Koenig so it could work out alot more expensive than just getting the Ferrari licence off Ferrari and EA. Don't make things up.
 
They DON'T need a license from Ferrari and YES there are Koenig cars in the game. If you've ever heard of Gearhead, I got the info from him. If it is untrue, then HE is making it up. I'm just passing on the info. The Koenig Ferraris are NOT Ferraris after they get their hands on them, hence the logo removal.
 
The are still licenced to Ferrari, it's like the Gemballa Porsches, the difference between RuF and all the others is RuF build the cars from the parts, the others, Koenig included take a factory car and modify it into their creation, the fact that the car was built by Ferrari and had a ferrari badge on it in the first place makes it a Ferrari no matter what they do to it, RuF build the cars themselves, so they're not modified in any way. RuF are acertified manufacturer, Koening arn't and there hasn't been any pics of a Koenig Ferrari in GT4 and no mention of them by KY, PD or Sony. Theres one car Koenig build themselves called the Koenig C62 which is a Porsche 962 replica which a Koenig licence alone would cover but all the others are tuned.

Ahh, a variant on the old classic "A bloke in a pub told me"...

You cannot go into a Koenig dealership and buy a Koenig. The car registration document would clearly state "Ferrari" on it. However, you can go into a Ruf dealership (yes, there ARE Ruf dealers) and buy a Ruf, and the car registration document would state it's Rufness... This is because, under German law, any car company based in Germany that builds and assembles more than 70% of the components of a vehicle is recognised as a vehicle manufacturer. Ruf GmBH are a manufacturer. Koenig aren't. Therefore for Koenig cars to appear in the game, there must be a licence from Ferrari allowing the "body shape" to appear in the game.
 
If PD needs a license for any Koenig Ferraris, then the car I saw was not a Ferrari. I apologize. I guess that the only way to get a license is from a certified manufacturer. I did not know that. The car list I saw can be seen here http://www.angelfire.com/games3/GTsaga/indexcont.html This is Gearhead's GT website, which "claims" to have Koenig and even Lamborghini cars in the game. He went to the E3 electonics show where he got to sample GT4. If you haven't, check out his site. This is where I got all the info on building my hybrids, too!!!
 
Thats that fake list thats been going round, but they've added 4 cars to it somewhere, look at the Dodge cars and you'll see a Ddge Intrepid Police edition, we will not be racing around Grand Valley in Police cars. Also that list came out almost straight after GT4 wa confirmed, your best bet is to only believe what is confirmed by PD themselves. Exept the release date ofcourse.
 
Indeed. Looking through the site, there's the old GTPlanet wish list which people take as gospel.

Plus the guy mis-spells "Alfa" Romeo, and seems to think Koenig build the Koeniggsegg CC :rolleyes:

I can't find any evidence of a Ferrari-shaped vehicle in any of his pictures. Although I DID spot a boxart picture which appears to have come from this site (http://www.msnusers.com/GranTurismo...creenshots.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=3134).
 
I don't get how some games get the license of a manufaturer when they know it's going to be smashed up and all and PD doesn't get the license for Lambo and their not going to do any damage.... I mean NFS: High Stakes has a Diablo and it gets plenty messed up, also Porsche 911 Turbo in NFS:HS! It doesn't make sense.

EA has more money than PD, so they can afford to get the expensive licenses. Also, NFS only has a limited number of manufacturers when compared to GT4, so they can afford to go for only a few expensive licenses.
