how would you rate race 1 of no rules brand racing?

well if you're slowed down by 'stupid' ai cars then don't pick that race mode. i tried slingshotting by waiting in the pits for the cars to pass, then do the test lap, one more to get closer to the field and a hotlap drafting one car in the long straight. but it didn't work out for me. the warmup laps costed me too much time and it's very difficult to end up in the right position for the drafting.
to me gt mode works best. i gave the second track a go in the 320i and csl beamers. huge difference in laptimes with arcade mode.

I won't be attempting to make record lap times with accompaning A.I for now on.;)

Artificial Intelligence? Yeah right...

LUKE, any chance that you would let us know whether you're using a race car or not?

Their is a very logical reason why I wouldn't/ would be using one and I'm sure Casio would be doing the same thing. I'm sure you'll find out soon enough.

But what I fail to understand is that you keep trying to ask me what type or actual vehicle I'm using, yet, you've still yet to post your actual car. ;)

Ok a have found what car I will use where. Also I have a time that could beat
you all:sly:, but I will save that for later;). Here is my lap time.

Car-Audi Nuvolari quattro '03
HP-over 900hp
Weight-about 1300kg
Times-
T1-19:776
T2-37:671
T3-52:869
Total-1:08:686
Track-forword
Mode-track meet
No NOS or Drafting

Is this ok?

hey guys,
i just had a small session with my sl 65 amg full tuned (999PS, no nos)

0:19,398
0:37,978
0:53,523
1:09,695

thanks guys for posting your laptimes and details.

but i'm still short lots of laptime postings from the rest of the group so please guys, let's hear how you're doing in great old no rules fuji.

board updated

Slight improvement in my time. Hoping to get a bit more off before the deadline.

SuperT - Audi Abt TT-R - 1'07.699

Fully modded in GT mode time trial.

Can prolly knock another second or so off when I start using the NOS properly. I'm trying to set it up so that I use a whole bottle in one lap to get the full effect. :D I'm also cutting the chicane section too, just aim it past the wall, back off the throttle and hope you get to the other side still pointing in the right direction. ;)

It still feels like I'm doing something wrong though, I've spent the last four months cleaning my driving standards up.

Darren.

I don't have any of my stuff here and I don't remeber what car I used but that time MADFORCE has is faster then mine by at lest 2 seconds. I'll have to work on my time when I get home, when ever that is.

well finally got to business in my racer. what did the trick was lower the asm from 5/5 to 1/1, while tcs was kept at 1 too.

1.04.529

board updated

Hmm, I might try fiddling around with the ASM and TCS tonight, that's if I can be bothered.

Well, after fiddling with ASM and TCS settings I managed to beat my time considerably.

New time: 1'06.339

well done bigracer, I got my time down to 1:05.7xx, with a few tenths left to gain.

Bigracer, dont you find the brakes on the mclaren terrible.

brakes on the mclaren terrible? well imraan, i thought you said you weren't using a racecar? :dopey:
in fact i dont have problems using the brakes. just set asm to 1 and balance nice and low. plus be extra careful braking in the fast right before the cut-off chicane cos otherwise the car will send itself into the grass and the walls.
but no more tips from this side as i'm very proud so far of my 1.04 on top of the list.
i wonder what friend ben will do when he posts his lap tomorrow morning.

ps it is normal in gtp that you only edit your posted laptime before i shout 'board updated' and make a new post after that, otherwise this lineup will get very messy. thanks for observing that custom.

No problem Bigracer, but I am using a normal car, I was actually just testing the mclaren on another track,

Tell me is the track sequence set up already or am I missing something.

track sequence ... well, the race stewards like to keep some of the issues like that to themselves. so don't bother asking, we will publish tracks one at a time. but that shouldn't bother you as you can make a car & track matrix anyway.

I've got a 1'09.xxx with the Nardo and I know I can pull off a about half a second or maybe 1 on the back straight where the tail was hanging in the dirt a bit, and then some nitrous could probably take some time off as well. Going from the HPA to the Nardo is a big jump, from off throttle oversteer to horrible off throttle understeer. I hate understeer so much.:grumpy:
I think I'm sticking to my old lap of 1'09.366 I can pull off some time but there's always one section where I can't beat myself.

board updated

i get some laptimes thru msn sometimes that i process in the laptime overview, but these laps are not posted. players are welcome and pressed to do so - if it's not too much trouble that is.

remember guys (and girl): tomorrow is the deadline for race 1.

Looks like that's it for me then guys, Ive not managed to beat my board time so I'll be switching to a faster Audi for next weeks race. :trouble:

I've still got the R8 to bring out yet. :D

Had fun with this so I'll definately be back for more. 👍

Darren.

I have no chance to be among the fastest times since I'm not cutting the chicane, so I'm using an arcade Audi S3 '04 (251 hp at +20%)
28.602 / 54.012 / 1'25.103 / 1'49.190.
Clean replay saved.

You do like arcade mode don't you Flat-Out:), if you went to GT mode you
could go alot faster and thats with out cuting the chicane. Just a idea for you.

board updated

times are coming in nicely, but we need 7 more posts to get a full pack.
and it's only 8 hours and a bit before deadline.
so go for it, no rulers!

thanks from ben and steven

results for no rules race 1 – fuji speedway 90’s

the temporary leaderboard has now changed into the results for race 1. the fastest driver gets 22 points, the slowest 8 points as 7 participants have regretfully not posted any laptimes.

congratulations to all that have scored well. the fastest 3 players are requested to submit a picture from the replay theatre screen showing car, track and laptime.

the temporary laptime overview has been updated into a results overview with positions and tournament points: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2433986&postcount=2https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2433986&postcount=2
my excuses for the poor matrix quality. i am working on it and hope it will be better by next week.

The participants that have not yet posted their car of choice (imraan and luke) are requested to do so now. This is the only way to make sure that you use different cars for every race of the tournament.

below is a picture showing my laptime.

Actually I was away last week from wednesday to friday and this week from monday to tuesday, so I didn't have a chance to run it.
I only ran 2 laps yesterday evening and submitted my second lap, so yeah, Arcade Mode is less time consuming.
If I have the chance to spend a whole evening on the next race, I'll perhaps choose GT Mode.

Heres my proper time and picture Bigracer, I apologise for the poor quality of the picture, but its the best I can do for now, I will however post my replay tomorrow.

Sorry, I have to edit your pic since your WRS qually time is displayed, which would enable anyone to work everybody else's time based on the WRS Registered Drivers List.
Flat-out

BTW, congrats Bigracer, I really had fun trying to beat your BMW McLaren with my M5, I got to say, I got closer than I thought I could. Well done, but we'll see what happens in the next race.

Congratulations Steven on your win in round 1, perhaps this is the start of things to come?... ;)

Well think about it like this steven, you still have the 15 driver's you wanted:).

(Pardon the poor picture quality)

Speed Racer's time is quite good via the BMW M5, but I am still debating whether the M5 or M3 GTR is faster around the track...

Nevertheless, I found that a large part of the overall time is based on the nitrous power fixture, and as it used rather sporadically, at the fixed corners or straights.

I've set it to full power for this track and it is used only on the straight sections, rather than evening it out as to cover the whole course.

It would be interesting to see what other racers did with their nitrous setup.

on the issue of nitrous.
firstly, i pity it that not all are using it cos only then can we compare truly.
secondly, i leave it default or do a +5 on it cos i want to use it both on power turn exits and for gaining long straights speed.
i always try to just empty the bottle at the finish of the first lap i do.
satisfied, luke?
btw thanks for uploading your picture.

flat-out

what is this, devine intervention? now i know for sure that (super) moderators can do whatever they want in gtp. dono if, as a race steward, i'm too happy about that
