Nordschleife Times

Steve you're funny.
How did you come up with the idea I'm using a different handling mode and driving aids since all my videos (some of which you seemed to be praising earlier) have clearly written in their description I don't use aids and handling mode is set on Elite.
On some I even captured the options menu to show it.

If you're too lazy to read don't bother to write my friend. You'll look like a fool...

USSR quoted a part of my original message, which I'll paste below.
It was adressed to Thiago in order to explain why the Veyron lap times he's seen on PC look so unrealistic.
What I described below is a formof cheating often used on the PC version of Shift2.

Veyron is a car that allows many exploits on the PC and so does the Murcielago. This is the reason I will never use them for hot lapping in Shift2.
One classical exploit is to use lower handling modes (like Novice or Normal), which have higher grip values for the tires. And of course the good old diriving aids (traction and stability control).
Couple that with a low downforce setup and you get a toy of a car that will handle arcade-style and allow impossible lap times.
Only job you need to do is keep it on the road.

@USSR
Head over to NogripRacing and do some reading about the Shift2 physics and the tire model for each of the handling modes.
The grip levels are different.
Elite has a reference grip level and tire stifness of 1.00.
From there grip increases in 2% increments for every mode, all the way up to Novice which has 10% more grip, at 1.10.
All these are written in the physics files inside the game and have been widely discussed on the Nogripforum on several threads, including the two tire mods (NTM and PTMu).
Whether you choose to believe facts or not is up to you.

This is the problem with PC we don't really know what your using, there is clearly a difference, but if you come on PS3 we see whos the fool.

You guys invite people to come join you and when they start beating your times you start accusing them of cheating? 👎

it´s starting to be boring isin´t?
come on bogdantw2 , like I said before, post ur laps in all the classes, maybe someone will join and you can compare the laps, or fight for the faster...Stop analyse others drivers laps...This thread is for drivers have fun, not to create a problem with the drivers...
Let´s drive and have fun...enough?

Page1 updated. Nordschleife LP560 GT3 6.38.475

nice m8, u got it! i did other run yesterday, and when I finish upload the utube said was a copy from other video, and didn´t come online...uploading 6:38.3 lol...maybe what?, 2 or 3seconds could be improved with very hard work...I´ll try to finish A class with retro and muscle

i will need to return my cam to fix this $%&! noise on the microphone, don´t know what´s that, should came with problem, ´ll be around 10days out...:(

yeh very strange sound, its like you got some doggy electric going on in your gaff, wired up from the street lights lol

lol yeh....I didn´t actually watch the video b4 post, so just realized now...Than i made a test recording nothing, with no audio activated and there´s the sound again... I´m online, just give me a few minuts to finish some stuff here...do u want to test my rx7 D class, I´m kind worried what u cud do in it...

You can't compare PC and Ps3 full stop so no use to bitch about it. You lot are all FAST just enjoy the racing. Think of me an old fart (Flx I am coming to get you) banned from racing so count your blessings. Thiago are you still playing with the controller?

How 'bout a lap in Zonda R ?
It's the current record holder for the circuit, so why not?

Average lap times on the PC are in the 6:20's.
I haven't used this car as much as I'd have liked to with Shift2 in general and Nords in particular.
Last time I did a lap in it I remember being in the 6:25-ish area, but it wasn't an all out assault.

So lets find out how fast it can go (on PS3 and PC), are you guys up for it?

Later edit:
Here's a sample of what to expect on the PC, lap time wise and handling wise:
Youtube videos with Zonda R @ Nordschleife (PC version)

yeh man, this videos on the forum i´m using the pad, some world records on my channel, like road america and brno done with my friend wheels...

My fastest lap so far:

Zonda R - 6:16.375

I paused the game at the end of the lap to show what aids were active (hint - none).
Car setup and game options are, as usual, at the end of the video.

This is just a preliminary lap and there is room to improve,
I'm still working at a better setup. At the moment the car understeers slightly at turn in and it's a bit twitchy under braking.
As you can see in the video I drove a bit too much on the safe side and hesitated a lot with the brakes.

Enjoy

Smooth as hell. I agree that some of the bumpiest, most upsetting spots on this track seem to be handled with ease in your case. Either your set ups are dead on or the PC is different from the PS3.

Please watch these videos made by other PC shift2 racers, in the order I've put them (from slow to fast)

An average lap (6:26):

And two faster ones
First a 6:22 lap

And a 6:17 lap

* The first 2 are gamepad users, while the last uses a Logitech red Momo wheel.

Do you notice the same amount of smoothness as in my videos, or is it different?
Also pay attention to the approach taken by each driver.

Well you can see and perhaps try my setup, but I have no idea how well it's going to translate to the PS3.
In terms of suspension it's almost identical to default.
Only change I made was stiffening the front damper rebounds, which help a lot over bumps and kerbs.

Also, while it may look easy watching the video, believe me when I tell you there was no ease on the other side of the screen.
And let me give you a tip which applies for the bumpy sections of the track and when touching the kerbs - ease off the gas pedal slightly. Don't step off to much from the pedal otherwise you'll lose the rear immediately. It has to be ... well ... smooth.
On fast corner entries do the same (ease off ever so slightly precisely while turning in) and use the throttle to set off the car through the corner.
Over-correcting the steering is not nearly as efficient to control over/understeer as throttle modulation is.

you really don´t undertand do you? everybody here know this things...low downforce to top speed, understeer b4 long straights make u lose speed, don´t push full gas on bumps or kerbs, the problem is, the bumps on ps3 are massive and even doing this ´´perhaps´´ it´s not possible here, it´s like a different surface of the track, and it look much smoother on the PC, you will understand when you drive the same cars on ps3, if you do someday...Stop comparing laps, the real intention of this thread is to people show their laps and have fun, a fair battle in same plataform also cool, so post ur laps and wait or invite a PC driver. If I want to be analysed or get some advices I should look for a psychologist or something lol..

not much time to play 2day, should come out with the zonda and the viper 2morro..
Uploading a 5:59 F1, did a really safe and slow drive, spend more time tuning it than driving, also shared the tunes on the final if someone want try...

lol the guys to funny, comes on here tells hotlap and career NO1 how to drive and how to tune cars, when clearly he is on a easier platform. Oh and thi did you know GT1 and GT3 are race cars?!! pmsl

oh, u never done, do u m8? lol...hellfast...unfortunatly I will need to put the gt3, i and D class battle on hold, must send my cam to get the free repair, will try something b4 the weekend.

yeh the f1 is a beast man, was spinning all the time or loosing it when exit the corners, so i went for this extremelly high stance and very early shift gears. This thing really can go under 5:50, but is just so hard to keep it clean...

No not try yet mate, i do have a nice suprise for my old nord rival tho:) Would be good if ussr puts some laps up, as he also is very fast on this track too, and well capable of beating some times, which thats what its all about, great competition on a level playing field :)👍
