Would like to run softs though!

Awesome, looks like I'm not the only one who wanted a race series at this time lol :D

Jav
I might be interested on a Saturday series!
Would like to run softs though!

I'm fine with running on softs, was just imitating other successful racing series. As long as there are not major complaints with softs, I think that should be fine.

I will update the first post with details as I get more time, any suggestions are welcome!

My suggestion would be to run at least 10 races and always keep the races on Saturdays because Saturdays are my days off :p

Bump 👍

Edit: First Post now has more details

It's looking good!

I'd be interested if it's on Saturday, I'm in another GT500 series on Sunday.

I think tire choice should be left up to the individual, as well as when to pit. In a 45min race a pitstop will be almost a must for anything but hard tires, making it mandatory is not really necessary. We are just finishing a SuperGT 300 series and ran into problems with a couple of drivers that were constantly wanting us to change the rules to make pit stops mandatory; these are the guys who brake as late as possible in every corner, think every corner is a passing opportunity, and generally drive like they are in an Aspec race. We seldom had a race where one of these two wasn't running into the back of cars, or just crashing and taking others out. Everyone else could run the entire race without pitting, both of these guys would have no tires left after 8-10 laps and would either have to pit or just completely lose all hope of staying on the track. Mandatory pit stops only reward this kind of driving. I believe tire management is a very important part of racing, taking that away just promotes bad driving and leads to a lot more crashes.

I'm in either way, just hope you reconsider the mandatory pit stops, or at least let the driver decide when to pit.

Alright, I think this is enough interest to try a test event. This will be this coming Saturday, I will update the first post with more information as the date gets closer.

@boshunter

I totally understand what you mean about the pitstops. I included it mainly because its a part of the rules of the actual Super GT series. Now, I have no problem removing the pit window, but I do believe everyone should be required to pit at least once, let me know what you guys think.

As for drivers that regularly ram others off the track trying to make a pass on every corner, I highly discourage that. I am a big fan of patient, close, clean racing, and I will take action as necessary if raming, cutting corners, and generally being disruptive drivers become an issue. This is supposed fun series, but we should also drive professionally. I will update the first post with some driving guidelines, passing rules, penalties, etc.

As for tires, it has been my experience that if people are free to choose between all the different racing tires, Racing Soft always wins, mainly because of the high grip, and durability not that much shorter than Racing Hards. For this reason I think we should all agree on a tire to use, maybe we can meet in the middle and use the (often overlooked lol) Racing Mediums?

Alright, more information coming soon, plus signups 👍

Sounds good. I'll put in my vote for softs, no sense running anything else if we are going to pit anyway. :)

If we are going to run this Saturday, it would be nice to know what track. It's Thursday night now, that doesn't give much time to get in any practice. I'm hoping it's not a track I've never ran :scared:

I'll go for it. I would like the 24 hr Nurburgring to be used atleast once though. Too many GT class series only do the short versions like GP/D, GP/F. Its boring to run short circuits, makes it feel like Nascar. LOL

Softs are good. They last the same as hards. Options in F1 I know last year lasted almost as long as primes. I suspect thats why PD gave their softs such longevity. That and all the old complaining about tires not lasting long enough in Gran Turismo. This year Formula 1's tires are all F-d up, you;ll see some serious tire wear in Australia I think watching the race on TV.

I'd be interested if it's a weeknight...weekends don't work for me.

Racing softs, low damage and leave pit stops up to competitors. If you have problems with people using other cars as brakes or hitting other cars, those people should be excluded. Heavy damage also penailzes the guy getting hit too and doesn't stop the ramming in my opinion. Guys either do it or they don't based on their skill and courtesy level and damage doesn't affect that. Run a pre-season test race or two for sorting and you'll soon find who is clean and who is not. Save the replay, and review if there are complaints.

Good luck. You might want to add a custom track or two to make it interesting. Everyone can download it if you set it to online status and "friend" all the racers in the series.

I would like saturdays I get occasional work but sat prefered

PSN: just_me_the_dude
CAR: XANAVI NISMO Z

Suggestion: tires unrestricted with heavy damage hopefully drive clean

I'm interested if its during the morning or early afternoon on Saturdays (EST). I'd prefer racing soft tires.

I'm not interested in doing any fake tracks, so I'll wait until the track schedule is made before I confirm.

I vote for softs

I'm interested in this league...the gt series I was on ended 2 weeks ago and a new season was never started...Saturday nites would be better for me because I tend to work 9-4 est

Also since I use a daulshock and with no TCS I vote for softs

Wow, lots of posts while I was away lol, and more interest...awesome 👍

Okay, so looks like racing softs will be the tire of choice, I will update the first post with the information.

Also Saturdays does seem to be the day of choice.

Light Damage also a good suggestion, will add it for the test and we will see how it goes.

Just a note, I don't like using the penalty system, because driving through other cars is just silly, BUUUTTTTT, this means we need some honest racing. I will be saving all replays. Complaints about cutting or bad driving in general should be sent to me, immediately after the race, or within 24 hours. I will update the first post with this.

@Johnnypenson

Sadly I can't do mornings because of work, sorry man.

So test will be THIS Saturday, and since it is Super GT, why not do a Japanese track?

How does Suzuka sound? I will most likely open the room at 530PST/830EST

Alright, check the first post, will be updating it soon with all the new details 👍
