I have no problem with the term NOS, at least I know what people are talking about. Its the same as using "Kleenex, Sellotape or Hoover" as someone mentioned above.

What the heck is sellotape?

What the heck is sellotape?

 Its sticky tape...you know, sort of stuff you might use to wrap a present with ;)

Or you all could just completely ignore me...that's fine...

Feeling insecure? :)

The proof of NOS is in the TGS thread, there is a tuning screen which has it as an option. As for video of NOS in action...I hope you don't mean, flames and stuff...because if you read this thread, you'll see we are all agreed that there is no such thing! ;)

No, no flames and stuff, but like, will there be gauges for it, and you can see and hear the car speed up and stuff..?

So far no sight of it in action or even how it is triggered, or whether it is restricted to drag racing, or how long it lasts..etc

All there is is this little icon

Oh no! so my lime green civic wont be able to shoot purple flames out the back? :indiff: well that's okay as long as they still have neon undercar kits in the game, they should too because undercar kits add like 5 hp at the fly.

Well...

In GT3 driving the car without maintenance decreases engine HP.
Maybe a penalty for using Nitrous is that as you use it, it decreases HP just like worn oil, only at a much faster rate.
Overuse of Nitrous could also result in permanent loss of HP (like the 'old car' modifier in GT3.

BTW, I'm pretty sure the flames in 2f2f are made by rigging up a sparkplug or something in the exhaust to ignite unburnt fuel residue. Plus maybe some Computer imaging? It is a movie, after all. I mean, all those fancy planes that blow coloured smoke in their displays are just injecting oil directly into their exhaust.

I think Nitrous should be included as more of a technical tuneup package. Yeah, push button activation is fun, but unless you are going to frag that precious motor, it might want to be controlled a bit better.

In the settings menu, a section to modify Nitrous activation - using throttle switches etc. like has been mentioned.

And definitely, in full racing (unless EVERYBODY) is going to have it, no Nitrous.
That's the way it is in real life - apart from Drag racing, I don't know of a single racing code that allows Nitrous use.

Finally, maybe have a separate licence for Nitrous use that you must obtain before being able to access Nitrous. Or maybe just a specific level (for example, minimum of International A or B before you can get Nitrous).

Just a few thoughts.

i agree with avenger, it aint gona be a matter of pushin a button and then off u go, more of a having the nitro system up and running before u launch off, this is GT not the F&F

1.) We don't put stickers on because we think it adds power, were not retarted geniouos.
2.) Stickers are there to tell everyone what we are running, or sometimes we put them on there to do a psych out on your mind man. See if you think I'm running a 575 shot of the NOS your not gonna mess with me right? Nah I didn't think so!!
3.) Torque is for loserrrs, High end horsepower is what wins all my illegal street races anyway.

<<insert any OWN3D pic every created here>>

Torque is what allows drag cars to go 300+. Torque is what smokes you off the line. You must realize that horse power is only a measure of torque over rpm. Actually it is torquex5280/rpm. Hp is more of an arbitrary figure. torque is what gets a car going fast.

HULK MAD!

HULK SMASH!

HULK ANAL SMASH!

Bruce Springsteen originally wrote that song just like that while he was watchin' you play the hulk. Record company made him change the lyrics, though. They didn't want him to offend ricers.

I'd be button pushering, while you blowering the intake belts with your triple shot espresso drink and me and the mad scientist will have to rip apart the block to replace the blinker fluid you tainted with your semen.

You don't get it. I'm a movie star. I own the police. They all drive riced out saturns with red star stickers on them. If we were in Mother Russia, I would have had your ass sent to the goulags. But no, I'm gonna pull out my hot import rides and fly past you until all you can see is my altezza tail lights and glowing windshield wiper blades.
A movie star, I just used my googling h4cking skills and all I found of you was a chinese pron site, WTF??? The only reason you would own any police is because they are the ghey, AKA San Francisco, because only faigs live in previously mentioned city, AKA you. BURN!! IB4 the oh snap picture oh lol.

Come on guys, behave. Too much language/flaming/off topic will get this thread closed.

Here's one effect you could put in. Too much Nitrous in one go = great hissing cloud of steam from under the bonnet, no go and Vin Diesel standing there going off his lolly about the rings you'll have to replace and ... :dopey:

BTW, doesn't fuel consumption go up when you use Nitrous? I don't know for sure since I haven't had much to do with it, but that would mean...
If GT4 has fuel consumption in it, more Nitrous = more pitstops to refuel!

But I don't think nitrous will be allowed in road courses, just drag racing so don't worry. :)

Someone give this guy a d1ck to suck so he'll quit whining.

That make you feel good? really boost your ego ehh? Ohh yeah you told me, I won't try that again.

Get your hands out of your pants and go home.

Lou, Dolph. Please. Can we cut the flaming? It's not appropriate in this thread. If you want to have a tiff, use PM so we don't have to see it.

Meanwhile, let's get back on topic.

Thankyou. N02 is OK. And you import tuner kids can have it but for everyone else they just need to limit it or allow you to disengage it. If a car has a history of being blown with nitrous then sure i'll take a try (though I can't think of any car in that category)

Edit: I forgot to say this but I have to admit that Rocky 4 is my favorite one. But I saw another Lundgren movie where he was in afghanistan fighting russians and it stunk.

What kind of thread is this showing those kinds of images. I'm so disgusted by those idiotic images. Ban that member!!!!!!!! 👎 :grumpy:

Obviously a couple of perverted idiots trying to make themselves feel special. Having fun, losers?

I'm very happy that it's been included, what with the info that turbo lag will be more noticeable it'll be interesting to see how the nitrous affects this.

Nemo
No NOS, this is a real driving simulator, not some ricer playground. Get in line or go home kid

Jesus, grow up. It's a real driving simulator, which is exactly why nitrous is quite rightly included. Nitrous is a legitimate way to boost your power, it isn't only used by ricers, and it certainly has a use among real world tuners. The sooner people can drop the "ZOMG NITROUS IS FOR RICERS LOL!!!" stereotype, the sooner everyone can notice this.

Sure, it's not as skillful as actually tuning your car, but it can be used very effectively with a properly tuned car. You can eliminate turbo lag, you can adjust the ratio's and move your peak power to your likings. Whilst you can just install it on your standard family wagon, you can also use it on a tuned car to gain many good points.

You're a bit late - Jesus is all grown up already! (Lame attempt at humour).

I'd be interested to see how Nitrous is integrated into the tune shop and settings menu.
If it's like most of the menus in GT, there will probably be several different levels of installation. Not only could you buy different sized canisters, but also different systems. For example, you could buy a cheaper 50hp system or an uber expensive 200hp kit etc.
Not to mention the fact that nitrous is consumable. So like getting the oil changed, you'll have to go to the auto shop to refill your giggle tanks!

It would be good to be able to adjust the shots of Nitrous in the settings menu, or even be able to program it (like some drag cars can) to automatically let off predetermined shots of nitrous during a drag run. Even then, they might still just put in a plain old 'push the go-go button' system. I wonder what controller button they'll map nitrous to.

it will probably be select for nos. Why doesn't everyone dislike elenor from the movie gone in 60 seconds?she uses nos when running from the police chopper?!Anyway whats up with all this ricers use nos s**t!Ricers don't use nos.do you even know what a ricer is?!ricers are people who don't do anything to cars accept add bodykits, neons and other cosmetic enhancers like that but they don't do ANYTHING to the engine so how can they have nos?nos ads anywere from 50-200hp+ which is what i would class as a peformance modification.

Sorry avenger i am tired and have stayed up for the last 3 days/nights without any sleep and it is now 11:10pm
