I'm finding not a lot of people like racing much above 500 performance points. That's where a lot of the top performing street cars are. My favorite cars are in the 600-650pp range; (Super GT) Nismo Xanavi, Zonda R.

What's your preference?

UPDATE:

Just started a racing league for those who like to race the race cars: International High Performance Racing League! The IHPRL is a league for those who enjoy racing the highest performing cars in the GT series. We like to go fast! We also like a challenge that improves our skills! Imagine driving the Jag XJ13 or Ford Mk IV around La Sarthe at Night! Or speeding around Nurburgring in a Nissan Xanavi in the rain at night in traiffic! We will also be providing a championship series of competitive events! So if you like to barrel down the track at top speeds in dry, wet, day or night conditions join us here!

I like the lower end of the PP range 200-400 so i have a little more thinking time (less speed) to navigate the track and focus on my lines.

about 450-550 for street/road cars.

anything above that i'd prefer to do it in a race car.

i tend to join more road car rooms these days. u can be more individual in what u drive.

Usually slower races can be more fun since they can usually be closer. Races with over 600PP can be ruined by cars with much higher downforce and low weight but just a bunch of power limiting.

I personally like higher PP races, as most of my cars are tuned and modified. With low PP races you can end up with dominant cars (like the Clio V6 in prologue), but with higher PP's there is more room to set up cars, meaning there are less dominant cars.

I have no problem with cars above 500pp in fact some of them are fantastic to drive. As long as the opponents are evenly matched the racing can be just as exciting whatever the PP level - although it will always be more spectacular when you lose a 700pp over a 200pp, and less easy to recover!

My favourite drives (if I'm pushed for a choice) are the GT300's which combine the perfect balance of power, speed, grip and (most important) fun. :)

What I don't understand is that despite this, most people seem to mostly race only on Racing Soft tires even with lower-class road cars. That doesn't make much sense in my opinion. Personally I find that the usage of such tires should be confined to race cars.

I'm sure this isn't always the case but, a good amount of the higher PP races that I find turn into a wreckfest in the first few turns of the race. I've found much better rooms with better, cleaner racing and a more chill atmosphere when I get down into the 450'ish PP rooms.

I just don't find there to be much point.

Any races using race cars above GT300-level (so lets say... 530PP) are either complete crashfests or loaded with people who are better than you and make no effort to keep from reminding you of it. Or they are NASCAR races, which I can only find fun every once in a while despite being really good in them.

Production cars above 500PP are generally crashfests in my experience, and the ones that aren't I don't bother with because they exclusively race on the Nuburgring.

425-480PP road cars are fun for me, because you can drive them with CS or SH tires, and there are so many competitive options to use that no two races are remotely alike.

450-550 is my preferred zone. I've had fantastic races with 500pp and sports hard (check it out) so that's what I usually look for.

Shuffle is also great fun though, I like slower cars too.

I don't race online very often, but when I do I prefer high PP races :) I'm a speed addict :)

550-600pp has the best combination of speed and performance. It keeps out many of the the race cars that would otherwise shellac the road cars while still allowing for a huge range of different cars that all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I have a few cars that I have specifically set up to be adjustable between the 550-600PP range for online racing, all have custom paintjobs and wheels to make them individual to me as well. And all of them are deadly fast and aside from a "fast room" of friends I run with (who kick my ass) I usually have no problem podiuming online races with these cars even if they are short on PP vs the competition.

What was fun also was using my 550PP Audi R8 4.2 on the "Supercar Challenge" Seasonal races on Sports soft (like the AI cars). With the 30 PP minimum disadvantage it made for a great bunch of races!

I can't remember the PP level but I almost always go for full-on supercars online with sport soft. Most of the time with my chrome 458. That is driving heaven, Ferrari 458 which sounds like an earthquake, and on sport softs on the Madrid course.

However the same thing but with racing softs is just no fun.
Performance: Racing> sport
Fun: Racing < sport

I have noticed this as well. I tend to stick to higher PP rooms that say things like 'clean or kick'

I'm an average at best driver using a DS3 so I'm quickly in last place in any race over 500pp. I look for the 450 or lower races and if there aren't any I either suck it up and lose a few races in 500pp or go do some seasonals.

Well put out a thread for spot racing 700PP race cars. Not a single taker. Got online and created a room for 700PP race cars. Had two guys pop in and practice a few laps then give up and left. Anyone out there like racing the race cars? Seems like PD needs to delete them from the series.

My rooms will most often be 500 or 550pp, although we'll sometimes have 600pp GT500 races, and a few 450pp races around London or Tsukuba are great fun. I used to basically just always run 600pp, but eventually I got sick of seeing 8/12 people using "GTR SpecV '09'", and after trying lots of different pp races I've found that 500 and 550 tend to bring out the greatest variety in cars and races, and often brings out the best in drivers because they get to use their favourite cars and be competitive with them. Things like the R32 GTR, RX7, NSX, Supra etc.

I think guys would be surprised with the RCs. Though you're going over 200 a lot most of them are thet stablest cars in the game IMO and easy to control with a little practice.

For me the best races are clean and equal cars, pref same model. Then its just down to best driver. As in real races cars are very similar in power, just 1/10th's in it, rather than someone who has a hot Veyron and blows your doors off on every straight. Try Autumn ring mini, in K cars only, thats fun racing. :)

Pick a tight track and the Veyron doesn't stand a chance (providing their a clean driver). I get very very bored with K cars, they're just too slow for me and the handling usually doesn't make up for the lack of power. I don't mind racing normal hatchbacks though they can be fun :)
