Is this the same for the xbox 360???There never seems to be that many ppl online racing on the ps3 version...

Yeah, I'm disappointed with the lack of racing going on online with PS3 :(

Add me if you like Zevo, and we can meet up eh? 👍

I was wondering the same thing, even in my friends list, its only me and my best mate on the Autolog scoreboards!

I haven't even gone online yet, still trying to complete as much of single player as I can to build a good garage. One problem I know of on PS3 is we are experiencing a lot of freezes and maybe people don't stay online cause they're sick of getting kicked off? Is this a problem on the 360 as well? I can't play more than a hour or two before I freeze.

Same on 360 although maybe not as frequent as you say....I'd say a freeze every 3-4 hours.

It's because PS3 people prefer to play GT5 :)
There are plenty of interesting cars in GT5. Shift 2 has only few cars and only several are really interesting.
And physics in GT5 is much better than stupid mimic in Shift 2.

P.S.: I play both GT5 and Shift 2, but I don't like online :)

Are you kidding? I wouldn't call 100 different Skylines and 50 Miatas interesting. Or how about that Dihaitsu Midget Type II? That thing just burns the track up, huh? GT5 is a decent game but every car in Shift 2 is a performance car and is capable of being tuned into a full-on race car. And while the physics in GT5 are clearly more realistic than S2, realism doesn't always equal fun.

i'm sorry that you have only skylines, miatas and midgets in your garage.
I have many other cars. Many historic and exotic cars.

Cars in Shift 2 are just boring. I would call them as "many skylines and miatas" :)

Puh lease... race cars are NOT boring. And for those which are "normal" a works convert should do the trick.

Yes GT5 has many cars worthwhile... unfortunately the time needed to get the money to buy them...

Anyway, I'm not on-line because I still don't know the tracks well enough to even be competitive.

Give people some more time

That and a lot of people probably aren't online because they are just completing offline races and time trials to beat Autolog times. I find having the Autolog competitivness I don't need to race online to get my fix, and don't have to worry about the idiots wrecking everyone all the time.

My PS3 died and took my Shift 2 w/ it :( so I have to reload it and start all over again so It will be another month probibly before I can devote enough time to get comfortable w/ Shift 2 again. Great game but now I have GT5, NASCAR, and Shift 2. So many games - so little time... lol

I didn't say I had 100 skylines and 50 miatas in my garage, I was talking about how the vaunted 1000+ car count that was such a big deal when it came out is made up of 20% cloned cars that all look and handle the same.

The problem is with the way the game is set up. You only see rooms inbetween races. Could be dozens of rooms with people in races, you wouldn't see them because of the setup.

I have mostly been playing shift 2 offline and gt5 online, evertime i go online to play shift everyone wants to freaking play bumper cars hope to find some people on here that really want to race clean i understang accidents but its rediculous on shift 2

I'm not online because I'm worried about that lag-punting issue. Last thing I need is to be labeled a punter. I'll stick with autolog for now.

Before I shelved my copy of Shift-2 (waiting for the patch).., I didn't really mess around with the online either. I have about 50 or so friends.., and I think maybe 2 or 3 at the most seem to have Shift-2 (PS-3).

However.., I don't know if it has been mentioned yet.., but I found that a lot of the freeze ups (appear) to be as a result of the AutoLog feature. One day just to test it.., I disabled my WiFi before loading up Shift-2. From that point on (until the say I shelved it)., I didn't experience one single lock up while playing "off-line".

Same situation. Waiting for the patch for my limited ps3 s2u. And I must I'm hoping rather than waiting for that mega patch, because I've been ripped off by EA marketing propaganda, pre-videos and the limited version pressure that costed me 70 euros!

I was on last night - two races available, with two people in each one. Even if there were three times that many races taking place at that time, that's 16 people in the entire world? They might as well have just not had an online multiplayer.

The games disappear when their racing to stop lag of joining and reappear when in lobby...Most ps3 players don't have a clue what this game is about...

and you do with your 6 posts??? whaterver troll

^^What does post count have to do with being a troll?

It certainly seems a strange set up not showing rooms if the race has started. What I like about GT5's set up is being able to see every lobby that's been set up. I tend to only join the lobbies that are already racing. That way I can be sure they're not just doing free runs with no intention of starting.

This is what I'm talking about this dud has about the same IQ as the snotty nose kids they play ps3 shift 2.
As for EA great job for not letting players join the room while racing which causes lag...Forza and gt5 can learn from this.
