not sure if i am even going to buy a wheel anymore

i have had enough of this, this is beyond ridiculous. i bought a DFGT from provantage.com 1 week ago, but it is supposed to ship in 1 week from today, so instead i keep looking around other websites to get it sooner, and yesterday i found it on newegg for $130. so i canceled my order from provantage and bought one from newegg. i wait 2 hours and i see that newegg has charged me for the product :dopey: this caused me to be happy because newegg is an amazing website and i have never had any problems with them. until, 1 hour later i decide to check back only to see my product void. :ouch: i was wondering "WTF? how?" and i see the product is out of stock... :sick: so i decided, forget it ill wait again, and i decide to check back 15 minutes later to see that they are back in stock again!! :drool: so i contact an agent and talk to them about what happened, and how i am disappointed. she tells me that a new shipment came with 48 or 50 of them. i believed that ******** and i decide to re-order. well today i come back home, and i see my product is void again, they are out of stock AGAIN.


i dont know if i even want to buy a wheel anymore. not sure if i even want to play GT5 anymore because a DS3 is annoying...
 
Buying a wheel is definitely worth it. Opens up the game completely. In fact I'm sure most would agree that GT5 was made with the wheel-user in mind.

Seriously though, there is a known stock shortage - should have just waited for the original order, or at least not cancelled until you knew that the other had been dispatched/prepared for dispatch.
 
I don't even need a wheel now, thanks to the controller sensetivity feature.

Well, need, no - but if you are simply not buying a wheel because you believe the controller sensitivity feature is as good, then you are extremely misguided.
 
I know a site that guarentees delivery in 1-2 days, if they have the item in stock. Ha. As for wheels, I'm not gonna get one. Seeing as I play as much FIFA, GTA IV, Black Ops, etc, as I do GT5, I CBB =P
 
you guys dont understand. i ordered it 5 minutes after it came back in stock..
 
Lots of things can happen in 5 minutes...
 
Not one to say I told you so but...

I told you like a week ago to drive to the nearest gamestop that had it in stock....
 
I can understand your frustration. When I've been ordering pc parts there is a massive difference in price and units in stock , if any.

One thing is after looking on the Logitec site I think my gaming life is no longer complete with out one!

Sucks to be you. Should have bought one in September like I did!
 
Mclaren I wish I knew you needed a wheel, I could have sold you mine. It works fine just has a burn mark on the side from when I sat it too close to my heater. I would have gave it to you for 50$ plus shipping. I bought the Newer wheel and now the GTF just sits in my closet.
 
So did you ever try the Logitech site? I received my wheel in less than 5 business days and that was in January.
 
Stick with it. Wheel is very very very very very much worth it.

Seriously, get a wheel. Even if you become slower in the beginning, the immersion is epic.
 
Once you get that wheel you'll be so happy and won't care about what you had to go through
 
I know this might seem a little adventurous and slightly dangerous but have you considered going to a shop? As in offline? I know it sounds a little drastic but the waiting time is considerably reduced.
 
I bought one at worst buy. It wasn't the best deal, especially with the ridiculous sales tax in my area, but it beat paying shipping and waiting days for it to arrive.

That said, I didn't like it and returned it. Frankly, once I get a new game, GT5 is going to end up on the backburner and it isn't worth it to have a $150 attachment that is only useful on a few games. If I took this game to be more of a hobby than a way to kill time, the enjoyment of having the wheel might be worth the price. Sadly, I'm getting frustrated with the ineptitude of Polyphony Digital, so once I finish up b-spec (only have some enduros left) I will get back into Black Ops or find another game.
 
Just go to your local best buy and get the logitec driving force gt, bromosexual.
