Lotus Elise Cup

I think that's @ Bathurst.. am I right?

Yup thats at Bathurst... says so before it starts... Ive seen this clip before and the guy driving is damn good :) Seriously close racing and no touches... and somehow he squirms his way to the front... lol

Yep, it's bathurst. I've seen it before and yes it's close racing.

I think these two are awesome to watch too from Bathurst. I think that Aussie Racing Cars are awesome to watch due to their really close racing, but they probably race so close because the cars are so small.

If only they'd allow foreign cars to give some colour to that monotonous mass of V8's.. but we know what happened last time when that was possible, don't we? :p

They could allow the following cars...in alphabetical order, at that...under the current formula.

Audi A6 (Quattro Disconnected)
BMW 550i
Cadillac CTS or STS
Chrysler 300C
Dodge Charger
Hyundai Genesis
Jaguar XF
Lexus GS460
Mercedes-Benz E500
Nissan Fuga/Infiniti M
Porsche Panamera (nonturbo)
VW Phaeton (4-Motion Disconnected)

Yes, still the Monotonous mass of V8s, flat plane cranks disallowed and whatnot, (Which, when you break that down, that's just a pair of fours joined at the hip) but a bit more variety than Ford and Holden.

The supercars are nothing like the ones being sold in shops. Theoretically, anything could be made a supercar, but there are tight rules about aerodynamics and dimensions to go with all the mechanical engineering to ensure close racing.

Doesn't Volvo have a V8 saloon available as well?

The lack of variety only comes from not having a history in Aus,these other options, fill only a small part of the market. Holden and Ford have had a strangle hold on sales for 40+ years in Aus.

When they used to race mildly modified factory cars we had a saying "Whoever wins on Sunday gets the sales on Monday".

On topic: He really has a great deal more confidence in the car than a lot of the others, the pass as he goes over Skyline, on the 3 cars is all balls.
Passing 14 cars is one special race, but he does it in 3/4 of a lap against same factory cars, awsome to do this on a track with very little room for error.

Wow that looks like a fun series. The cars look hilariously awesome as well. They literally look like pixel cars!

If I ever have the money to get into motorsport, that's what I want to drive.:D They reward pushing hard and sliding the car which is unusual in motorsport. They look like great fun.:)

Actually theres a longer video of that race that shows him then getting destoryed by other lotus's in the race.
