Number Plate Help

I need help and I guess it will be only guys from the UK that can help me.

Here is my problem:

There has been a mk3 Golf sat outside my house for 3 months now. It is really Pi$$ing me off as it means that I can't park outside my house. The parking is bad enough on my street as it is, and it is always difficult to find a space.

I called the Abandoned cars department at the local police so they could check it out. The car has not been stolen and still has tax for two months. The police have told me that it belongs to a guy who lives very close to me but not on my street. But because it is taxed, it is perfectly legal for him to leave it there until the tax runs out. But obviously they can't give out his name or address. This bastard leaves his car outside my house when HE DOESN'T EVEN LIVE ON MY STREET and I can't go round and tell him to ****ing move it.


The help I need:

I need to find an online database of names and addresses of car owners and their number plates so I can go round and tell him to get his car away from my house. I thought there would be something like that from the DVLA but I cant find anything on their site.

Does anyone know how I can find out his address using his number plate?

I dont think youll find that info on the net.

Just let the tyres down, he'll move it.

If he reparks it there repeat. He wont park ther again.
 
That kind of info shouldn't be available in the public domain.

Try your local council. Ours has an abandoned cars policy. They will come and remove an abandoned car. I don't know if this one would count as abandoned tho'.

For a car to be parked on the road, it has to be taxed and be roadworthy. It is taxed, so we can't do anything there. However, if someone were to let the tyres down, it would then not be roadworthy and shouldn't be parked on the road.

Alternatively, get a few of your mates and push it out into the middle of the road. It would get towed away then.
 
Me and my friends might pass that car on our annual sharp key jangling parade.
Hey, accidents happen.

We might even circle back round.
 
Just get a floor jack, jack up the front wheels, and have some buddies help you push it. If there's any open fields around, aim for them, if not park it infront of a fire hydrant and it'll be gone soon.
 
Well, uhh...then try to park it in the middle of the street or something.

No fire hydrants...how do they put out fires? Just let em burn?
 
No - this kind of info just isn't out there. And for bloody good reason too.

MazKid - we have concealed hydrants. They are buried in the street, covered by a black piece of metal with an "H" on it. They only have adapters on the end to fit fire engine's hose feeds. However, most of our fire tenders carry their own water supply, so they aren't used unless the fire is serious.
