Should the laps be reduced to 75?

I can get the race started with the pace car if you want? It would be wrong to start an endurance race from a standing start. I will not stay up all night to be a proper safety car though.:p

That's a great idea 👍
As long as 16 spots are'nt taken by compeditors..

That would be cool as actually lol

Does anyone know how long the replays last? Be good to be able to get the whole race in?

Ok, possible dates are listed:

Feb 12th - May interfere with a league i'm in. Just remembered.
Feb 13th - Sounds good.
Feb 14th - Doesn't really sound good, but I can host that day.

It's not official, it was just my suggestion. I say bring it on, the more prizes the better! Storm could get a different 20M car and there can be two prizes.

Now it is! I'll get a Ferrari F10 for the second prize, so this race will be worth entering.

Do you mean a prize for 2nd place? I was actually talking about 2 cars for the winner. But that could work. I'm sure if we can fill this race up with people who are committed to running the whole thing we can get some sick prizes going on. If we get 16 people I'll contribute... now I'm actually thinking multiple cars for the winner and so on down the line:

1st Place: 20M Ferrari, 20M Ford, 20M Jag (60M Purse)
2nd Place: your choice of two 20M cars (40M Purse)
3rd Place: your choice of one 20M car (20M Purse)
4th Place: 10M Alfa Giulia OR Ferrari F10 (10M Purse)
5th Place: whichever 4th place doesn't pick (10M Purse)

What I think I will do is this:
1st. Ferrari 330 P4, Ford GT Mark IV and Jaguar XJ13.
2nd. Alfa Romeo Pebble Beach, Lamborghini Pebble Beach and Ferrari F2007.
3rd. Peugeot 908 HDi Team Oreca Matmut, Audi R10 TDI and Ferrari F10.
4th. Formula Gran Turismo and McLaren F1.
5th. Peugeot 908 HDi Team Peugeot Total and Ferrari 512BB.

Sound good?

Ha ha, wow!!

Man this gave me plenty of laughs here. Congrats on even thinking of the idea!!

Please say you'll set damage to heavy. That'll sort the men from the . . . somethings.

It'll be close to 12 hours likely to be more. I just did 1hr 30mins with servesauce's series around N'ring 24hr, the weather started bad and just got worse, and it was dark, so dark. That was enough of a challenge, it was only 1hr 30mins.

Thinking about it, I'd prefer to do a marathon race at La Sarthe - no chicane. At least you get a rest (mental-physical) down the straight(s). Give that some thought.

I imagine it'd be guys who can find someone to team up, sharing with another driver could make this work. So that should be against the rules - joking.

I would nearly think of signing up for this, just to be able to say:
"I was there man, I was there!!"

But 1pm EST = for me, here, that's time I'm normally asleep. So no good trying to driving in a mad rush.

What I think I will do is this:
1st. Ferrari 330 P4, Ford GT Mark IV and Red Bull X2010.
2nd. Alfa Romeo Pebble Beach, Lamborghini Pebble Beach and Ferrari F2007.
3rd. Peugeot 908 HDi Team Oreca Matmut, Audi R10 TDI and Ferrari F10.
4th. Formula Gran Turismo and McLaren F1.

Not bad I guess, I just don't understand why you'd go with two 20M cars and then the X2010. Is it because the Jag is a bit easier to obtain as a prize car? The X2010 is also not too hard to come by as well, am I right (I don't have any of them yet, so I don't know)? Maybe just have a list of prize cars available as a total pool; 1st gets to pick his prizes, 2nd gets to pick from what's left, 3rd gets to pick from what's left, and so on... that way if the guy who comes in 4th really wants the X2010 he may still have a chance to win it if the other victors choose not to take it.

Also, for something of this magnitude... I seriously doubt you're going to get enough takers in a week or two (whenever you plan on running this thing). I think there should be a tentative date a month or two down the road; so there's plenty of time for serious people to see the thread and adjust schedules accordingly so they can commit, and also to allow plenty of time to suss out the details regarding prizes, start time, and length of the race, etc...

Good point. I'll probably do this: I change the X2010 to the Jaguar, as I have it. First place chooses his two cars, then second chooses his two and so on. And how does the 12th of March sound?

Does it count if you complete and hour, pull up by the side of the road and wait for the end lol..

Seriously, what cars are eligible?

Still haven't had my question answered.

I am contemplating this. A 13 hour race is hard to justify but I may join in.

Getting more interest I see.

Are there racers who are looking to pair up, have a co-driver in the room with them. I figure that's the way to do this.

Do you know if the GT5 servers ( the ones that host the lobbies ) will even let you stay for that long?

If this goes ahead, you should contact the Guiness book of record people. This is sure to be a record for something.

The longest race I've done online so far has taken just over 3 hours. I like endurance races. 13 is going to push my limits haha.

Also I can vouch for Storm. I've raced with him a few times now and he has great online etiquette and races very clean.

I would be up for a proper online endurance race, though the 14th would be a bad date due to valentines.

Will participate in a Zonda C12S 7.3 '02 @ 678 bhp/1240 kg

Edit: damage on heavy would add a good dimension to it aswell if you are considering it.

I said i'm changing the date to March 12th, so it's not interfering with a holiday. Yes, mechanical damage is heavy.
