went in with a brand new JGTC 500 350Z race car, did an oil change before driving it, and brought a set of super hard slicks

so far, i've only done the first 6 laps, and it seems the tires and gas are just enough for the 6 laps.

opponents arent really that fast, so i guess i'll be leaving it on over night and see if i win the F1 car tomorrow

How long is the actual race for? And if it is in fact 24 hrs, can you save in pit stops and does the daylight change accordingly?'

6 laps seems alittle too frequent to be changing fuel. Even at the ring.

6 laps is about 120km, it's a fair distance, maybe 1 or two more laps would be right but I think it's pretty accurate.

6 Laps of the ring is over 70 miles which i think is about right laps wise for tyre changes.

!!!!ROLL ON THE PAL RELEASE!!!! :)

At the real 24h Race at the Nurburgring(1Lap there is about 25km because of using the GP Track and Pits), the faster cars must refuel after 7 - 9 Laps!! So 6 Laps is near the reality.

Whats the competition like, what cars are they?

I think I would rather do the ring 24hr in a stock car. After seeing a real life video, a JGTC car seems as though it would be too powerful/fast for it, not too sure if all that power will be put to use, as opposed to, say an S2000 or Skyline.

I've seen many race cars at the ring more powerful than JGTC cars.

Who confirmed the existence of this 24hr race? I still find it hard to believe.
Everyone wth the game, theres also 2 24hr races on the LeSarth circuit.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Maybe it says 24hr Le mans for novelty value but infact its like 4 hrs.

I'm still not convinced unless someone actually starts the race and knows and reports back to these boards.

I wonder... is there anyone on GTP hardcore enough to do a 24 hr enduro?

Me and my Crew will be more then happy to do it, as soon as I do the work and finish the 25% untill next weekend. Then, the "24" days begin. Expect report :D.

Can you choose if you want to drive it yourself or use B spec. Drive for 24hours yourself would be sick (and fun) . Hopefully you can save mid race.

I was hoping you could do a few hours then when you pit have the option to switch to b-spec for a couple of hours.

I was just going to ask this question. I hope in B-Spec mode it allows you the chance to race the car. If not, then what about switching on B-Spec mode while racing in A-SPec mode? Meh, doesn't make much sense but then racing 24 hours doesn't seem to make good logic sense. But, if you can save while in the pits, I might go for it. I'll have cramped fingers, for sure, but what the hell, you only live once.

I think you underestimate the average speed on the Nordschleife. It's no slow track by all means.

Letting B-Spec mode do some is taking the easy way out. I'm gonna do the whole thing by my self... And with my step brother probably.:D We make a fair good endurance race team.

Damn right live, what about Derek Bell in the Porsche 956 on the 'In car 956' DVD, if I recall its a 6min 41 sec lap with an average speed of about 120mph.

Much faster than a JGTC car; people seem to forget (or not know) that the 'ring was a regular event on the F1, GT and Sports car race series upto the '70's and still continues for the Sports Cars to this day.

Matt wouldn't help me, he'd want to use Auto, not that he'd want to do it anyway :grumpy:

I could probably do the whole thiung, if not I have a friend who would help.

Faster cars like F1 cars are made for performing at a high level. They corner better and grip .They could probally run rings around that JDTC car.

As I understand it, though, they don't do that sort of racing at the 'Ring anymore. The cars that race there are more "stock" in nature, probably closer to the GT300 division of JGTC.

It's certainly possible to race the high-end cars there, but I probably won't be doing it as much. La Sarthe is a course for the super-high-speed cars. The 'Ring is about the driving.. hehe.

I suppose an important question would be: What are the opponents for this race? Are they pre-selected, or does the game determine the opposition based on what you're driving? If they're just "normal" cars, then what would be the point of taking a JGTC or LM car out there? That'll just make it even more boring.

I cant wait for this. Get afew friends and just go at it. Thought i get a feeling i'll be doing most of the work, lol.

It will be stragne not seeing it it get dark. This was the second best part about Test Drive LeMans for DC. You can see the sun set and rise in real time :). Sigh, maybe GT5.

The major events there IIRC are the VLN and the 24h. Well, the 24h had a 700bhp Porsche-Biturbo and has lots of 500+bhp cars.

Nothing against Derek Bell, but Stefan Bellof ´s record time was nearly 30 seconds faster. His time in his Porsche 956 in 1983 6:11,13 !!!!

The competitors of the 2004 24h:
BMW M3 GTR
Falken Skyline
Audi TT DTM
Opel Astra V8 Coupé DTM
"Alzen" Biturbo Porsche with about 700hp
Honda NSX - GT from the JGTC

and a few years ago there was a Toyota Supra from the JGTC there (Falken).

Greetings

Hmmm, I got a feeling Hyde is taking this too serious, please someone drag him away from his tv! :D

I'm eagerly awaiting all info on these endurances, can anyone tell already if ther are really 24 hours, if we can use B-Spec during the race, what competitors we get?
