Nurburgring mustang

For some reason i was watching a historical video on the nurburgring and it made me want to see how fast i could get a mustang around it :odd:

so i bought a mustang and installed:
- full racing suspension
- brakes and brake controller
- super soft tires
- full weight reduction and chasis stiffening
- full customize transmission
- triple plate clutch
- racing flywheel
- carbon driveshaft
- new rims ( the old ones look :yuck: )

so after some very light modification to the gearbox and suspension i pulled off 7 minutes and 47 seconds. not fast, i know, but its the best i could do.( I never hit the wall once either )

what i want, is to see what other people can do with this setup on the mustang and what times you can get. if you try this please post your time but do not post your setup. you cannot hit the wall once in your run but you are allowed have two wheels on the grass as long as it doesn't go farther than 1/4 of the body (id say a little around the tailight) If you do go off the track more than 1/4 of the body or go completely off, it will be a 5 second penalty. happy driving :D

So there were no engine modifications?

yes, 300hp is plenty enough power especially with the weight reduction. while going around the track there was plenty enough power to go around except on the long straight. yesterday i hit 7:41 but broke my own rule, to do good i have to focuse on the apex and try my best to take it, otherwise i tend to go off the track ( and my sisters cat was bothering me :D )
 
Which mustang? Any one? I might try this...

I may give this one a go but I can't say that's a sure thing. :sly:
 
its the 05 or 06 gt mustang. i found this to be pretty fun, and for some reason relaxing when i tried it.

the time i have there was my second run ( i had to fix my suspension a bit ) and im still getting used to the track. im going to do some more runs later on tonight and see what i can get.
 
Never used the Mustang GT before and have to give it a run.
Time is 7'04.562 with your mods and no GT wing.
 
thanks for trying this out stidriver :D. Im going to make one revision to the rules though to make it so more people will enter.

how about if you car goes over 1/4 of the car off the track or goes completely off the track it will only be a 5 second penalty instead off having to restart.

what do you guys think about this new rule? Is five seconds to harsh?
 
i think 5 seconds is cool but is this with TC on or off? edit: first run i got 7'4O.739 but went off track so 7'45.739, i still got a bit of teaking to do though
 
No probs man, i did another run got familiar with a few corners and got 7'26.167 but yet again came off the track shortly after the bowl 7'31.167. C'mon people try this out
