Well he first got pulled over for an exhaust. I'm guessing that he was giving the cop an attitude or something.

And yes the cop was right in pulling him over for the wing, whether it was stock or not he was still breaking the law. Hell a license plate frame is illegal in Michigan, but they still sell you one with the car, and people still get pulled over.

I guess Mitsu should have investigated the laws before they sold the car in America. Ha sucks for them, they'll be paying a lot of customers tickets.

The Import basher is on the loose.. I repeat, basher on the loose.

Jesus sorry that I support enforcing laws! I always make sure my truck is within the local laws.

And I can't tell you how many times people with big wings have cut me off cause they couldn't see me. Why the hell do you need "downforce" on a street car anyways?

 U are a JOKER!

Then we should all be driving K-cars with 660cc engines that are just enough to reach the national speed limit.

Who needs more power on a street car anyway? To break the law?

I love to see how everyone on this forum fails to see simple logic. If you have some that is obstructing your veiw, chances are that your not going to be able to see. It's a safty issue and there are laws for a reason. Big deal you don't agree with them, well you still have to follow them.

Have you ever looked out of the back of a Lamborghini? They'd be pulled over all the time if that rear view law was applied.

I know this is kind of a long shot, but perhaps he races?
Also, Lambo Diablos don't need spoilers, but people still stick one on.

If it comes stock on the car then its street legel no doubt about it so that ticket is wrong and should be taken to court heh..

Huh? Maybe they didnt research laws enough, god knows Mitsubishi has been sucking ass in ever way lately..

This reminds me of the woman who was pulled over in her RX330 because her taillights were illegal, even though they are stock.

Dude you are the joker, there are a LOT of reasons to make street cars powerful. Power sells, and there aren't any real laws against it. Big spoilers are butt ugly and obviously there is a loose law against it in that area. Don't forget to read that ugly part.

man the cop was just being an ASS. the wing obstructing view? Vans should get pulled over too because it's hard to see behind in them same with porsche boxsters,s2000,Subaru STi and SUVs

Speaking of ugly, I see you have a 1997 Ford Thunderbird in your signature. How many awards did that chassis receive for its styling cues, or even performance? None.

Don't forget to read that none part.

Dont be a fool. The MN-12 chasis was used from 1989-1997 on the Thunderbird and Cougar. There have been some nascars like them too. They run anywhere from 15-16 seconds 1/4th with the V8 stock. The cars were made to compete with Buick Regal, Olds Cutlass, Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevy Monte Carlo/Lumina etc. Most of those moved to front wheel drive while the Cougar, and Thunderbird stayed RWD. They had independent rear suspension standard, not all G-body gm cars did at that time. In that time 590,419 Cougars were sold (Couldnt find T-bird production numbers). In 1989 the Cougar won the daytona 24-hour GTO. K thx learn something before you bash it.

I was shooting at this line "Why the hell do you need "downforce" on a street car anyways?"

So I replied why the hell do we need more power anyways?

Regarding the obstruction of view, go drive a Lombo or any other sports cars. Lotus Elise maybe. Without wings its already bad, because the rear windows are so small.

Now, if these sports car drivers cut you off for not seeing you, who or what should be blamed? The windows?

I say no matter what, its the driver's fault. No point blaming the wing.

Give this man a prize!

Oh yeah for you Monster7

1989 Motor Trend Car of the Year: 1989 Ford Thunderbird SC
Runner up: 1989 Mercury Cougar XR-7

I still think that guy gave the cop an attitude and thats why he got the ticket. The first ticket was for an overly loud exhaust. There are 1000's of things that stock cars car be pulled over for. I'm just betting the driver was an ass an the cop just wrote him up. We don't know the full story.

Or it coulda been a "Sorry officer, with all those stickers and strobes I thought you wanted to race" situations.

Now that is a distinguished list of performance cars if I've ever seen one. Non-stop laughter

The 1989 SC took Motor Trends Car of the Year award, in a year where I can count the number of decent cars on one hand, and the exceptional ones on the same 5 fingers. Did I mention Motor Trend picked a Ford vehicle for car of the year 3 out of the 4 previous years? Did I also mention Motor Trend is one of the few magazines that call a 5-6-7-800hp Import a "pocket rocket".

Motor Trend sucks, the TUNDAbird platform sucks, and I'll bash both of them until the day I die.

^^ Looks like we got ourselves a domestic basher here
