THANX also for including your "M.O.V." The variation was more consistant than during the 10-Lapper. Winning "AI" time seems to have been between 24'08.xxx & 24'15.xxx.

"Fastest Lap" reported was a "Blazing" 1'29.339  from "slowpoke" who posted the largest Margin Of Victory with a 41.718 as well! "Closest" reported margin was from "smallhorses" whose MOV was a mere 5.065 Seconds!!! He found the Race I'm always "Trying" to find for us!!!

Please Post your Replays if you've got 'em!

THANX AGAIN! ...UB57 :D

Here's the replay for that excellent close race!
Its in MAX drive format so it may be difficult for some of you to view. I'm going to have a whole bunch of replays converted to .xps files by a kindly soul, but it may take a while....
Congrats to the podium finishers, and to everyone who had the patience to put in a clean run.

A big well done to all who completed the race cleanly, not an easy task. Earlier in the week I had a race that had my first 5 laps all sub 1:31 (inc a 1:30.2xx) which i ruined with 2 small wall grazes in the second stint. Alas I havent had time to re-run to see if i could fidn that again due to a family bereavement - some things more important. Thanks to Bob for organising it - good job :) Hope to see you all at the track again sometime soon.

Stewards enquiry! My AI was faster than everyone elses! :(

Unless my maths is wrong my AI winning time was 23'55.xxx (I got 24'07, AI was 12 secs ahead)

I was only 2 tenths behind smallhorses, but he beat the AI by 5 secs and I lost by 12!

Also, I have to report that I have been arrested. After the race I had to go to the Denso garage to have a word with it's driver. He had been battering me about all over the place during the race. Well, one thing led to another and I ended up shooting him in the head. 14 times.

* This post is meant in a frivolous manner :D

It's 6:45 am. I've been awake just a bit more than an hour.

Daan's post gave me the laugh I needed to start the day.

Excellent race Guys. Nice Run Duke! 3 friggin seconds. I find it quite amazing that in two years, I am still that close in racing with you.

NielsG, looking forward to the next one. Excellent run.

I've really got to get a replay from Slowpoke, as I need to find the line he's driving.

Thanks UB! I certainly enjoyed this race!

AO

Congrats to the podium racers. Fantastic times. 👍

Well, I think all of us who managed to keep this one clean deserves some beers.

Thanks to UB for this great event and your always very friendly way of running things. Thanks UB. You're the best. 👍 Lets have the next one soon, please. :)

And thanks to my fellow racers especially the more relaxed ones. The friendly rivalry makes me try a little harder and making fighting for the secondary placements somewhat enjoyable. Looking forward to race you again. :D

:disguises behind big beard and walks in circles with sign: NO MORE WALLS! NO MORE WALLS! NO MORE WALLS! NO MORE....

THANX Guys!!!
:D VERY Gratifying to know you enjoyed the Race! :)

@ daan: I refigured the "Gaps" & indeed both you & GPTim seem to have found a quicker "AI Combo" finishing in around 23'55.xxx. I'm sure I ran this AT LEAST 20 "Complete" Tours, (NOT Counting "Re-Starts") & was quite frankly surprised to see how consistant they were!

Now for a Short "Rant" against PD's AI Programming: Instead of just increasing the HP Multiplier to the range of 1.5 & then Slamming into things (Which is why we don't use Trial Mountain :grumpy: ) I wish they'd have just programmed the AI to drive "Better"! :trouble: I actually swiped an AI ride off of a replay & "Attempted" to drive it quickly. NO "Small Task" Indeed!!! :irked: ASM=10/TCS=5 makes it kinda like wrestling a truck around the track. I think PD needs to hire some drivers from this Forum (Hint-Hint) to drive their AI rides!!! (I know..."Fat Chance" of that ever happening! :guilty: )

Lastly: I'm flat out "Amazed" at how quick you guys adapt to a new Ride/Venue Combo! I start "Researching" w/T-5s & then use harder tyres as I get to where I just edge the AI. Like I said above, I'm sure I ran this over 20 times. "Stalled" out for a bit around 23'58.xxx & then again @ 23'51.xx before suggestions from anglex & GoKents helped me take off a bunch of time. 👍 Envy those of you who get such great times w/so few attempts!!!

Lastly #2: I've got another 15 Lapper nearly ready using a "Rapier" instead of the "Broad Sword" we used this time, Versus the "Usual Suspects" at a new Venue. Not sure if I should launch it or not pending how much GTP interest is usurped by the Olympics!?!?

Lastly #3: I need to share this w/other DFPro users. Noticed a post somewhere in the forum extolling the virtues of using the "SIMULATION" setting available in "Options." I've been using that setting for quite a while, even though during Mr P's "A.R.C. Series" I had acertained that the "AMATEUR" setting worked best for ME. Yesterday I finally decided to give Amateur a try again & on the first attempt I "Found" the elusive seconds I needed to slip past GPTim. My advice: Take other's recomendations under consideration, but DON'T be afraid to try another set-up!

THANX AGAIN...GREAT phUN!!! (Even w/phattboy "MIA") ...UB57 :D

I was hoping to get a last-minute crack at this one, but circumstances didn't permit thanks to flooding here on the East coast.
:(
AO, I too am amazed at our mutual consistency. And then I look at slowpoke and realize his averag lap was almost FOUR SECONDS faster than mine, and I shake my head in wonder. I too would like that replay so I may mail you a memcard if you get the file.

Excellent work, UB! This one was more phun than Seattle, and I had a better time of it. Looking forward to the next one, and to the Instant Race this weekend (*crosses fingers*)

Great racing everyone! I *barely* got the race completed. Feels a lot better than the DNF I got last time around. I'm going to be gone until Aug 24th, but if there's another 15-lapper going at that time, I'll do my best to embarrass myself again. ;)

That's strange, I've never heard anyone recommend "Sim" mode. Personally, I use "Pro", since that's what about 10 people suggested when I first converted to a wheel. "Sim" has almost no Force Feedback at all, and Amateur and Beginner both have too much FF for me. I switched to 100% FF (select + R3 + left paddle shifter) as soon as I bought the DFP also. Most people I've talked to find this setting to work for them, but as you say, you gotta try 'em to find out what you like. 👍 </ramblings>

I'm largely zarked off that I missed this one.

But hey, I've got £12,000's worth of new double glazing in my entire house, and you haven't. So there.

I promise to pick up the DS2 for the next one. Promise. Really.

:D "Strange But Wierd" eh??? I used the "Pro" setting for my MOMO but found "Amateur" worked better in the "Dirt" & eventually chose it for "Tarmac" as well. Yep, I use 100% Feedback everywhere except the "Test Curse." Very difficult to explain the difference between "Sim" & "Amateur" w/out some more research, I'm thinking my input may be a little too "Barbaric" for the more "Sensitive" settings!!!

:D Hey Famine, we missed you too!!! But just think how much money you'll save next winter by re-glazing those holes in your walls!!! 👍

Hi Gents :)

Congrats to all that were able to tame Godzirra and this Beast of a track! One of the hardest OLR experiences of my career! 👍

UBee, you've out done yourself, yet again! The time you invest to find these races must be most impressive!! Thanks again Bob :)

I've attached my replay for those that wanna watch it. It is NTSC Xport, you may need to change the extension back to .sps to transfer it. The fast lap is #3, with lap 4 a tad slower @ 1:29.741. I would appreciate any feedback :)

Interesting. I completed this 3 times. 2 clean, and my prelim one not. All the AI times were under 24 mins if i remember correctly. It never looked during any of the incomplete runs i made that the AI would finish over 24 mins either and certainly nowhere near 24:08 - 24:15! Where there any other PAL runners apart from me and Daan?

GPTIM
Were there any other PAL runners apart from me and Daan?
Banjobear and NielsG are PAL.

In all the races I did, the Denso just flew. It was well clear of anything else.

Hiya Guys:

:D THANX "pokie" 👍 I wouldn't bother to do it if I didn't have such a GREAT bunch of RACERS to share them with!!!

NielsG submitted three times, two of which showed "AI" times of 24'03.xxx average BUT one of his races had the "AI" finishing at 23'51.xxx :eek:

Banjobear's sole submission showed the "AI" clocking in @ about 24'05.xxx.

I actually found a "SLOW" "AI" combo where the winning time was almost 24'16.xxx. Sooo, more consistant then most but maybe NOT as conssistant as I had thought!!! :irked:

BTW: "Re-setting" my wheel to "Pro" & testing this A.M. kinda ruined the 15-Lapper I "Thought" was ready to launch but I think I have a solution. Off to test some more...UB57 :D

More precisely the winner times from my 4 PAL races was:

23'51.934 (Castrol Tom Supra, the UB defined field)
23'51.343 (Castrol Tom Supra, the UB defined field)
24'03.907 (Castrol Mugen NSX, no supras in the field)
24'02.480 (Castrol Mugen NSX, no supras in the field)

Don't know what you can deduct from this, but have fun doing it. :D

Ahh yes, i forgot that my time was done on the original field rules. That probably has some effect on the possible time range for the AI

:D THANX NielsG for catching my math error!!! 👍 Edited to correct it.

Just viewed "slowpoke's" replay & all I can say is "WOW"!!! NO "Magic Lines" NO "Running on the Edge of Disaster" just VERY Smooth & (needless to say) "Fast" motoring! After viewing this replay & anglex's Hot Lap I think MY Biggest Mistake was using the GREEN Camaro instead of the BLACK one! THANX for the "Lesson" pokie...UB57 :D
