Go Kimi, by far the best race of the season, I think we'll be seeing alot more of Kimi for the rest of the season:tup:
 
Thank god someone agrees with me, I had a feeling I was going to be pretty isolated with those sentiments.

I'm already looking forward to Monza.
 
i was barracking for zonta big time...imagine a replacement driver getting toyotas first podium....if his engine held up he could of gotten it
 
Yea, it was a harsh race on the two people racing for their drives - Zonta and Pizzonia.
 
Yeah, but I think they both proved themselves as it was the cars that failed, not them. Finishing would have been a bonus but I think they did so well anyway.
 
I don’t think the safety car mattered to the ending of the race, and if anything, MS couldn’t keep up with Kimi anyhow. The race sort of CART-ed its way to the end, but it made for an interesting race. Besides, would you go run out in front of a section of track where cars go 200mph, just to retrieve a tire carcass? Didn’t think so.

Barrichello's taken a lot of flack for being the number 2 man at Ferrari, but let's give him and his team their due: You need to be quite prepared to handle the emergency of re-installing a rear wing (something that obviously doesn’t “snap-on” quite as easily as a Dzus-clipped front wing), even under the pressure of a safety car. F1 cars almost never handle the same when you have a new wing (vibration issues, set-up just isn’t as before) so I‘m impressed with Ruben’s performance at Spa. I do think Ferrari proved why they are the best team in F1 with their ability to cope with a tricky situation.

Michael’s car just wasn’t up to speed. It seemed to be lost on the straights compared to the Renaults and McLarens. It’s not like him to race for the championship, instead of for the win, so I doubt he was just holding back just to clinch another early title.

Congratulations, Kimi! You are also till a “deer-in-the-headlights” when it comes to the post-race interview. But you deserved it, as you’re one of the few to beat MS this year in a straight fight. Most drivers would have their confidence shattered by now.

Mr. Klien, my hat’s off to you. Put a car or two in front of you, and you’ll race with them! String a few more performances like that, and you’ll have another chance at F1. You get my “Jean Alesi Award” for your work.

He's the only one to beat him in a straight fight, I knew he would once he could get the car to cross the line.

JPM made a fair move, sure he went in a bit hard and stuff but it's racing, we want to see passing, JPM gives us passing!
 
By far the best part of the race was were both the Renaults and both the McLarens were running together, great photo ops there. Too bad Minardi was out of the race, they might have been able to get some points with the small amount of finishers. And I'm very impressed by Jordan, they sent out a car that was 4 laps down with 8 laps to go, very good guys. I know they were hoping that more cars would go out so they could get some points, but that was just a good show.
 
Button was really lucky that minardi was there, he could have been badly injured if it wasn't. Great race:tup:
 
Eagle, I agree with you, it was a bit rude what Kimi was doing there. That should be banned. It would have been great racing for the last four laps if Kimi would have driven normally. But I´m happy with the result :D

Ahhh yes, one thing I forgot to comment on. JPM's pass on Schumi through the Bus Stop. Montoya, that is awesome man and definitely keep it up! Passes like that is exactly what Formula 1 needs more of. But I will not complain at all about this race at Spa, as it was just a great race in every way.

We're talking about Michael Schumacher, not Nelson Piquet or Alain Prost; thus, I really think MS would have gone for the win no matter what.

Besides, Schumacher got passed early on in the race, and then by JPM, so I very much doubt he held back to clinch a season's title that has 4 races left. His car wasn't as good as Kimi's in the long run.

Wet qualifying does odd things, and I think MS went for a wet-dry compomise car setup. He's just not admitting it.
 
Schumi was up to something.At first,his lap times were not soo fast but towards the end he built up,his lap times were very quick.
 
I don't think Michael truly had the car to win on the day, but he was obviously damn close, and given the lap time differentials in mid-stint to the end, I would have liked to see how it panned out. The safety car did gift Michael 12 seconds that he otherwise would probably never have recovered, so it went both ways.

I wonder if Kimi had to go full bore, would the tyres have failed - Michelin had a bad weekend again. I can't remember seeing such a good Bridgestone finish actually.

As soon as Montoya got behind Trulli, you knew it was going to end in tears, it regularly does. I breathed a great sigh of relief when he got past Schumacher cleanly, but the Trulli attempt really wasn't on, he was far further back, but Trulli turned in on him, didn't leave racing room.

Looking forward to Monza - plus I'm trying to find somewhere in Aus I can buy a Ferrari flag.
 
What about Montoya trying to go on Massa, that was idiotic! Thank god he knew when to give up or that could have ended very badly.

Eagle, just wait 'till that Aussie GP next year, you'll be able to buy one there (mind you at a much inflated price)
 
Man, it'll be like, 4x the price. I'll try my luck in Sydney.
 
I remember hearing about some sports store in Newcastle or something that had all that sort of stuff.

Yeah it did aye, but theres nothing better than a safety car to bunch up the field right at the end. maybe f1 needs more full course yellows to spice up the action.

remember back in Bahrain, Mr Klien muscled his way past a number of drivers. he is a good aggressive driver, definately no match to Webber though. id like to see him next year. We need drivers like Klien and Sato who BANZAI every now and then. He did shows flairs of the old Jean Alesi

WHOA this was an exciting race cool to see that Kimi finally didnt get his cars engine blown and Shcimi got his 7th championship!

hey I wonder how the race would look like if they ran on the old circuit, of course if it was re-build and modified to current F1 Track Standards, it would be awesome!! and hey has Eau Rouge changed??? besides the removal of the inner wall and the paving of the run offs. Awesome track though, I love Spa.
