Seeing as they went to the trouble of putting in the relatively unknown (and ugly in my opinion) BMW 1-series diesel, I would certainly hope they could put in some VW and Mercedes diesels as well, such as the Passat TDI. Those companies have a far longer richer history of diesels than BMW, at least as far as the North American market is concerned. But, I'm really happy they have the old Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Mk. 1 Golf (Rabbit), and at least one Jetta.

The 1-series is only relatively unknown in the US and for a long and rich history of diesel cars you need to look at the French, not the Germans.

Yeah I would love to see the Scirocco aswell. Pretty nifty car and a LOT of room for engine mods.

agreed cool car, and it is on the 'mentioned' list on the 359s car list. Maybe a Corrado VR6 too...??? That would be nice :)

I'm tired of hearing people trash teh Golf IV GIT. I myself have an '02 GTI 1.8T and it is loads of fun to drive. Now i grant you that it does have some body roll and is a little soft, it is much better then its contemporaries. I know this only because before it i drove an audi A4 1.8T quattro and it had alot more body motion then my GTI. Oh and also it is blessed with 180 Hp.

As for what i would like to see from volkswagen in GT4, it would be great to see more of the 4 cylinder turbos. I am sick of only ever seeing the V6s which are actually slower.

Wouldn't it be better to compare the GTi IV to the same year A3 instead of an A4 which is a larger car in a different category and probably made to be more luxury than sporty. I've driven the 2.0 NA Gti and that is to say the least it was horrible, but I bet the 1.8t version is better. Speaking of the V6's being slower, i've heard that being true with the 3.2 version of the TT compared to the ole 1.8t 225.

Man I wish I had the money and knowhow to do a 1.8t swap into me VW polo, that would be an awesome sleeper.

Anybody know why they haven't put the Jetta in the last series of games and if I am to expect any Jettas in GT4. I drive a 98 Jetta GLX VR6, and I can attest that with a little tweaking the VW Jetta can be quite a street race worthy car. I would also like to see the phateon, Toureg, recent Jettas and old Jetta's and damn would it be cool to have a kharman ghia.

The NA 2.0L Golf MKIV is referred to as CL or GL here. I find it odd that it has been badged as GTi in some other countries. In any case, I'm looking forward to the MKI, but a little bit more to the MKV, which has won car of the year award from Top Gear just recently because of how well it comes back to its GTi roots, basically how it is a really fun car to drive like the MKI. 200 hp and 207 lb.ft of torque from 1,800 and 5,100 rpm  I hope I'm lucky to get one sometime next year...

One of these in the game might be nice

There's a (Photoshop?) picture of the Mk V .:R36 here, actually looks quite good. BTW it's the 9th one down in a series of more obvious photoshops so could take a while to load.

For those who don't want to wait for the page to load, you can find the two shots of the Golf MKV R36 here and here

:-)

The badges on the back of that car say 1.6 FSI. It's a low-spec mkV, there have been no official R36 pics (or even confirmation, rumour has it they'll be sticking with a 3.2L engine again, the 3.6L version is only heading for the Passat).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Polo, it's got to be the second most common VW after the Golf in Europe and south America.

The 6NF Gti and a super 1600 rally car would be nice.

I forgot entirely about the S1600 car. Fantastic looking little thing.

I believe the regular GTi's of both the last-gen Polo and the current Lupo are in. I'm happy about that, since I'd rather have a street Lupo than the Cup one for certain times.

A VW Corrado woud be nice, I guess...

You guess? Too right! I don't think it will be in the game though. Maybe GT5 ?

........Of course, I will probrably be dead by the time that is released, and the human race will be extinct.......

Some pics for all you VW fans out there. Sorry if these have been posted before, but I havent seen these yet.

Maybe a Corrado VR6 too...??? That would be nice :)

It's hard to believe they have VW's in the game and didn't include the fastest production VW ever made.... A Scirroco is in there for heaven's sake! Oh well... What does a programmer know about cool cars anyway? 👎

The R32 is one good package, cant wait to compare the differences between GT4 and real life.

But lets hope that the GT4 team had a updated R32 and not the standard coded one with that bad hesistation problem.

Riz :)

I think the best MKIV GTI's are the Euro 25th Anniversary Edition and US 337/20th Anniversary Editions. Alot of the body roll of the MKIV's can easily be fixed by spending $300 on a rear sway bar.

glad someone started this thread, I too have a MK4 GTi, but with a jetta front end.

I think a Carrado would be a nice touch, and a mK2.

Whoever said the Corrado is the fastest production VW...thats not true (R32, 24v VR6 GTi, and the Phaeton W12 are all faster, and I bet the 180hp 1.8t would take out a Vr Raddo as well)

Unless modded the 1.8t is slower than the VR6's. The 3.2l VR is putting out 240hp, 1.8t is at 180hp, the 24v 2.8 VR is at 200, and the 12v VR (MK3, Corrado, early MK4's) is putting out 174 course those numbers are all stock.

I would really like to see engine swaps be part of the game, a 1.8t or a 24v VR in a Rabbit would be pure bliss.

last winter I got hit by a kid in his dads Lexus, and in the US Jetta parts are cheaper than Golf/GTi parts, so I had the body shop put on a Jetta front end. Cost me nothing :)

What I need to be satisfied right now, is the inclusion of the MK2 Golf GTi 2.0L 16V.
This is going to be my future car, so i hope i can tune it and test it before i actually modify it! :)

I know it'S a must isnt it?
:)
It was voted car of the century by many
it was the revolutionary (along with the MK1) non expensive cheap thrills german built light amazing engined hatchback! :dopey:
