Sweet JTI! Here is a picture of my GTI. I don't drive it in the winter but this year I'm selling my winter vehicle and I'm going to get winter tires. I'll just bite it for a few winters and get something with 4 motion (.:R)

I think a Carrado would be a nice touch, and a mK2.

Whoever said the Corrado is the fastest production VW...thats not true (R32, 24v VR6 GTi, and the Phaeton W12 are all faster, and I bet the 180hp 1.8t would take out a Vr Raddo as well)

Unless modded the 1.8t is slower than the VR6's. The 3.2l VR is putting out 240hp, 1.8t is at 180hp, the 24v 2.8 VR is at 200, and the 12v VR (MK3, Corrado, early MK4's) is putting out 174 course those numbers are all stock.

I would really like to see engine swaps be part of the game, a 1.8t or a 24v VR in a Rabbit would be pure bliss.

If we are gonna post pics of our VW's, then i cant stay behind :)

Nice MK4 GTI you got there!

Code:
The 3.2l VR is putting out 240hp
Actually the UK R32`s with the latest ECU engine management software version 6463 are pushing well over the 250bhp mark ;)

Alot have been tested and exceed the 160mph mark using GPS.

The highest topspeed to date was 177mph on GPS.

Here are some pictures of my R32.

Cant wait for GT4 to arrive.

The Mk II is a car worthy of the Gti tag, but the Mk III and Mk IV are not. Over weight, soft and underpowered.

You are quite right that worse cars do exist in the Gt series, but how many of them are strugling to live up to the benchmark set by their forebearers.

I agree: the Mk III and IV shouldn't even be considered hot hatches. They were awful. Good thing the MK V kicks much arse. Top Gear BBC's car of the year!

I'd say the MK II GTi 16V is the best GTi ever. It's not in though. 👎

They should also have the rallye golf (really cool), Corrado G60 and VR6, and some old Sciroccos.

hehe. This pic is from sniffpetrol.com, along with a MK I on the nurb.

I have a good photomode shot of the Polo GTi being followed by a MKV in the background, but the file size is too big and I forgot where I got it from. Any ideas?

That's because the peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 is the best GTi ever. It's not nearly as compromised as the golf (power steering, pffft!). ;)

I really wish both those cars were in though. I own the pug and my friend owns the mk2 gti 16v. We wanted to duke it out on some of the world famous tracks with our own cars. :p Xlink saved us for the loss of online play, but our cars aren't in, and that just plain sucks.

I drove an R32 when they were released here, and i really didn't like the controls. Everything is a bit too overservoed and compromised towards comfort. A stripped out one with firmed up controls would be neat, hopefully with slightly more bias towards oversteer.

Oh, and IRS isn't all it's cracked up to be. You can have great handling with a torsion beam rear end. The suzuki swift has IRS, and it's hardly a nippy steer. :p

Peugeot snob! :P

My 84 Rabbit GTi is a lot of fun though. I know a friend in Sweden that rolled his 205 GTi...TWICE.

The corrado 16v,G60 and VR6 should all be in the game... being the owner of one it makes me kinda bummed that they arent in the game.

My car, since everyone else is

That is a great looking Corrado [SS]Ares. Nice wheels 👍

Hey Spense, have you got any other pics of your Corrado? I can only really see the wheels in that first picture.

I know this might be a off topic but does anyone know if there was a 2.0 16v version of the mk2 built by VW in 1992? A mate of mine is convinced there was but as far as i know there was never a 2.0 16v mk2 rolling out of the factory.

Yes... they built the MKII GTI 16V and the GLI 16V.

Thanks man, that is a really mint Corrado 👍 . I'd really like one but you barely ever see any in NZ.

Yea thanks... its one of the nicest ones around here. The interior is spotless, i really found a keeper on this one.
