Everything looks fake and plasticy though.

I agree. The dash in the Corvette needs a drastic upgrade (and I am one of the biggest Vette fanboys around. It is indeed plasticy.

Even the "leather" seats look cheap.

That I will disagree with, especially in the 2012 update.

And that's the problem a lot of people have with American cars. Even the Top Gear hosts have admitted that America makes some great cars, but they just wish the interiors weren't covered in plastic.

Luckily that has changed on American cars. They are actually coming out with some of the best interiors in their classes (best in many). Big change from when they were actually some of the worst.

I mean, Jaguar has everything in leather and wood, Aston Martin adds Carbon Fiber...and the Corvette...it's all plastic on the inside...makes it feel cheap and fake.

You are comparing luxury cars to a performance car. The Vette was designed to be light and fast. The Jag and Aston were designed to be heavy and slower.

It's like a supermodel, gorgeous on the outside but sad and pathetic on the inside.

The Corvette is Bar Refaeli (hot, fast and ready to nail), and the Jag/Aston is Oprah (slow, fat and worth a ton of money)

With the Ford GTs price difference I think better materials are a given.

But the 2012 Vette looks pretty nice on the inside. It's not $100, 000 Porsche quality, but at the same time it's not $100, 000. I'm not saying it couldn't do with some improvements, but for the price/performance it's not exactly terrible. Really though, until you at least sit in the car there's not much to be said about interior quality.

That said....

Price difference? Not $100,000? Depends on the model you're getting.

2012 Corvette - $111k
2006 Ford GT $150k
2009 Viper ACR 98K

Really, there's not that much difference in price between them and if you REALLY were looking to save money, you would go with the ACR, anyway.

Vette starts at $49k.

Fixed.
Thought I would fix that seeing as how the base model is half the price All in all the interior is pretty much identical from the base model to the ZR1 anyway.

2012 ZR1 starts at around $110k~ which is the one he's referencing....infact, isn't that a ZR1 in your profile picture?...

Zr1 ftw!

Done, you can have your profile back.

Obviously the other poster was referencing the non-ZR1 if he was saying for 100k less.

Any shots of the Mazda furai that was recently announced? I'd like to see it in the FM4 engine :)

I hope they fix the engine sound this time....it was pathetic (as was all the rotary sounds) in FM3. The 20B 'swappable' engine sounded exactly like a 13b, and the Furai r20b sounded like a heavily synthesized v12.

Sound in FM3:

vs real life:

Well they've got the guy who was in charge of sound production on PGR. So theres a very good chance it'll be much more accurate this time around.

The sounds are usually pretty decent, when they get proper samples. But they don't always do that...

I just hope in FM4 when you change the exhaust you change the exhaust sound.

Not only that but also the exhaust appearance, It looks funny to have a tuned 600HP monster with stock exhaust pipe. I'm really crossing my fingers they have upgrade sounds and exhaust pipes.

visually i hope it does as well, but in terms of audio I am kind of worried it will fall into the same trap as GT5, it isn't as simple as swapping out one exhaust sound with another I think? doesn't it need some sort of blending according to engine type?

I don't think PD placed 18 different mic's on the cars they put on the dyno. :sly:

I don't think it will be anything like GT5 in this department. Forza has always outdone GT in this category. Will the sounds change and change accordingly Im not sure but I will still be much more satisfied with a stock sound (with a more rapid rev) than what GT has with most of their sounds.

Agreed. I think PD did a terrible job in this aspect as well as blocking out the sound of the dyno itself. The rollers from the dyno make noise and there are allot of cars in GT5 where you can actually hear it. :yuck:

I certainly hope so, Turn 10 does seem eager to treat us in aspects that we didn't expect big improvements. (big screen shots, de-bumper etc), fingers crossed!

Don't forget drag compound tires. That was a huge shocker for me. I was on the FM.net forums allot last year talking about the traction problems in FM3's drag racing.

Does T10 put Mics in the driver seat? I think that would be cool!

There is a slight change in note in FM3 from interior and exterior but I don't know if they do it by putting mics inside or some other way.

Sorry Chris I never heard that, I have a Samsung 7.1 surround sound and while some cars sound like crap some cars sound amazing . Regarding the exhaust upgrade sounds, the sports upgrade usually sound great. When switching to titanium exhaust the sounds can get wacky on some cars
but I have a titanium on my S2000 and it sounds bad ass. GT5 sounds especially during replay mode Is where I give GT the edge. FM3 does have very good engine sounds, but during a replay 👎 The sounds are very similar to the interior, I hope they make them better in replay mode.

Seriously dont get me started on gt5 sounds. Whoever was in charge of that should be slapped. Some sound...ok, but none sound great imo. Shift 2 takes the cake in sound. Even Race Pro sounds 10x better than gt5.

Agreed, and not only in terms of engine sounds. Whining transmissions, debris hitting the fender, squaking suspension, it all sounded pretty good.

I hope that T10 learned a bit from that. Would be cool if they did.

And brake noises from outside the car.

Forza also needs less-clean tracks. I swear the tracks in Forza Motorsport 3 look like a McLaren production facility.

And excuse me for being late, but we now have 4 electric vehicles :dopey:
