I searched and found the thread, but half the thread was arguing about how Atilla_da_hun had a free ticket to download HL2 once it came out so it's time for a new thread.

I just got this game on Friday and I love it! I also love CS:S. I'm not very far in the game. I'm right past the part where the Hunter helicopter is droping those bombs on the ground/water in front of you while you drive the airboat. The worst monster I've encountered so far are the zombies. This game is very intense and I hope it only gets better from here on out.


My name on HL2 : DM and CS:S is HLCharlie or Cheeto if anyone wants to play.

Yes perhaps the old thread was a little over filled, but i don't think there's much that can be said about HL2 now. Most people have completed it and are just kicking ass in CS: S now.

It is a cracking game though, haven't played the single player for a long time. You'll learn to love the Steam program as it constantly updates you with new files etc. Great little prog.
 
Oh well. I'm sure this thread will serve some purpose. :D

I already love the Steam program. I downloaded 1.7gb in just under 3 hours with that program.
 
Could it be the HL experiances thread where people talk about fun/bad times they have had with the game. Myself ive only played it a friends house and was very impresed but didnt persue it any further because im not realy into fps style games
 
Ravenholm had to be my favorite. So satisfying cutting them up with those sawblades and catching them on fire. ;)

Ran like dogs...but the end of Ravenholm was too funny. The guy stood by himself...:lol:

Yeah I remember them. How can you forget those things? ;)

Yeah the end of the level was funny. I stood there for awhile just watching those zombie guys walking through the fire. The noise they make when on fire is just too funny to me.

God, their screams of "Hellllp meeee" as they stumble around is pretty messed up. I've got two huge speakers pointing directly at my head and playing HL2 on a 19" with loud SFX is proper mindbending.
 
yeah ravenholm was defenitely a more interesting part of the game, but i rarely can ever say this about a game but i enjoyed every minute of the whole thing! i beat the game about a week after we got it. my favorite part of ravenholm is luring that large crowd of zombies into the area where propane is being released then running back and shooting it to watch them go up in flames <8- D
 
1 moment I enjoyed in Ravenholm, was when I was a rooftop with a shotgun, and one those screaming zombie things jumped out of nowhere.

Owned him so bad, he flew into another 1 jumping at me, killing them both.

I had a picture of it somewhere. Hope I didn't delete it. Its right when the 1st is about to fly back into the other. Funny. :lol:
 
ravenholm is the best part of the singler player by far. i liek it cause its so creepy with creatures iding everywere. i wasted half my ammo on the dead peopel hanging. cause i was walking around and mr friend would sneek up on me and i would jump and sit back down and see the legs and shoot like crazy until i realize its already dead. but ihate the part after that when u go in that mine were all those head crabs are cause i have aracmaphobia and those things creep me out.

Absolutely! Ravenholm is so great. The gameplay with the gravity gun is so much fun.

I play it again in English *lol*. the G-Man sounds so, well weird. it's not the speak of a strong G-Man *hmm*

I also like the game with alex' dog *GG*

The combine tower level is great too :D
 
I'm getting further in Ravenholm. I'm just past the part where you have turned off the electricity running to that fence and you climb up and talk to that weird dude with the shotgun and he shoots a headcrab behind you as it jumps down.

that wierd guy you incounter alot in ravenholm, o yeah and i took me 20 mins to get threw ravenholm and ur not threw with it yet, no offense i just did it this morning for the hell of it, and ran around with a saw blade the whole way, LOL!

You'll be near finished with the level once he comes to you, and you have to follow him.

Well, this is my first time through the game. And I probabl havn't spent more than 30 minutes in it anyway.

Guys, how do I paste and get this IP Address in Source?
I've got alot of IP Address, yet don't know how to get to the servers. How do I get the IP address in the game to get to a server?

This server is pretty cool. Played a long time ago...

I recently installed the Half Life 2 Substance mod. Is anyone here familiar with it? I've only played an hour or so in and it adds a bit more environment. Pretty cool. If so, what do you, or did you think of it?
 
Hmm, I can't believe there aren't more players here. I will be getting this game (hopefully!) within a week or two, and I can't wait. :dopey: I've been playing America's Army to try and feed my online shooter cravings, but the more I played it the more I longed for Counterstrike. :guilty: :odd: I almost went out and bought Half-Life 1 to play the old CS :scared:, because I'm worried about my computer being able to run HL2. Here are the specs: 1 ghz P3, 512mb ram, video card is ATI Sapphire Radeon 9250. Is that good enough? I've read that minimum is 700mhz, but am not convinced. I have no problem sacrificing graphical quality.
 
Wow. Long time no see(at least it seems that way). Hows it going man? Anyways your specs should be plenty good. 700mhz? For what? If you play CS:S let me know. I play on this one server that I like alot(not so many dumbasses ;)).

It goes well, thanks. ;) Probably the biggest reason for getting Half-Life 2 will be to play CS: Source, so I'll be sure to tell you when I'm up and running. Man, there's a lot of crappy online FPS out there. :dunce: I even downloaded the AVP2 multiplayer demo for some 1-on-1 with a friend, but we found there was about 30 players still playing. :odd: I forgot how addicted I was to Counterstrike, I need it.
 
Ah yes, Half-Life, right. Yeah, I've heard great things about the game itself, but everyone I know says it crushes Doom. :scared:

I only scored 45%, I guess I'm not as addicted as I thought. :indiff:
