I am getting nervous. :nervous:
I try to find some trustable drivers to begin this season.I hope eats will let them race.I think the number of the members is too low, that's the cause of silence...

don't know for sure. not really nervous. I'll be there racing no matter when we start.

As for more drivers. I'm sad that SammiTougeGirl isn't racing here this year, and I'd like to see C-H-A-R-G-E-R from GTPLMS in this series too. right now 11 drivers are "approved" w/ one waiting and two entries pending, but after the deadline.

last season (and i am NOT saying this was a good or bad idea, just stating fact) we lost a couple regular drivers to a very prolonged cold shoulder, and I REALLY hope that won't happen this season.

I know how RL gets in the way of administrating, and Eats is a much better admin than I will every be. if he's silent, there's a reason. All I can suggest is to stay patient and wait.

Hey guys, looks like this will be a great JGTC season once it gets underway.👍 I can see the deadline has passed but i can also see that other members are still applying to take part so i was wondering if i could also sign up! :)

GT online racing experience: not much really, currently taking part in Gentlemen's Racing Series, ,due to take part in DTM Season 2, but i will definately see this season out if i were to take part.
Reference: seen the JGTC Season advertised in other member's sig's and it looked very good!
Ambitions/Goals: To finish the season and provide some competition to the better drivers!

Oh, and if i can take part, may i use the Subaru CUSCO ADVAN IMPREZA '03 to do the series!
Thanks guys!

Dunno. I know that once before Eats has tried to sift out those who may not be committed enough, and while it may have enjoyed some success, it also p*ssed off a lot of people. To be honest, I find it a little insulting and unprofessional myself, but I'll still be here when round 1 opens :)

Right, well it's been 27 days since Eats was last online (nevermind since his last post)!!

At this point, I'm wondering if something has happened to the guy, or if he's just suddenly lost interest in JGTC/GTP/GT4 in general... :odd:

I for one will still watch this space, but it's seeming less and less likely that JGTC will continue :(

i would be upset to see this classic series go by the way-side, but i'm loath to see someone else pick it up and drop the ball. This has been the most fun series (including my own sometimes) on GTP for quite some time. But that being said, if something has happened to Eats, i believe that the series shouldn't die.

Hopefully things won't come to that. Eats is probably logging in as someone else and checking the thread to see interest the mood of the crowd...either that or the series is marinating nicely. I believe that nothing bad has happened, but i'd be more than happy to see that he's at least logged in to give us loyal fans a little weight off our minds.

Howdy :D

Nice to see I'm not the only one still watching this thread, though I admit that I've officially given up hope of JGTC ever continuing. Clearly something happened to Eats...

Got my PS3 a short while ago, and I've been playing GTHD a bit. Very sexy I must say, although I'm not very fond of the track. It's clearly designed to be an effective drift track, and personally I hate drifting. But I haven't unlocked drift mode yet (only played for a couple of hours so far) so I'll try to reserve judgment for now :)

At least I'm not the only person watching this thread and sharing the same thought about Eats. Personally, I'm worried in that regard.:nervous: I just hope he'll be back soon. And if - racing gods forbid - this series goes under, I just hope it comes back soon in the same spirit that this series emulates.:)

OBTW, how do you write 'Racing Spirits' in Japanese Romanji? Just curious.:D

Had a chance to try out GTHD at a local Best Buy sometime ago. I'll agree w/you on the track being suited for drifters. And I'm no drifting driver myself.:O Chances are it's also suited for the GT-styled Rally racing. I wouldn't mind if they put in GT2's Grindelwald(sp?) track in GT5. That was a pretty OK track to race on with a good hillclimb-like stretch on the first half of the lap.:)

Yeah Grindelwald was a cool little track. Actually [StartUselessTriviaLesson] Grindelwald is a ski resort town here in Switzerland, and it rests below the Eiger. Take a train up the mountain to a ski jump-point called Kleine Scheidegg (look for these words written on the side of the rail station in GTHD's "Eiger Nordwand") and you're right where the new GTHD track is. The tunnel section of the track is actually a railway running up to the saddle between the 2 big peaks you can see in the background. Up there is the Jungfraujoch, which aside from being a weather station, gives you one awesome view of half of Switzerland and the alps at 3,500m (and -20 degrees in winter) [EndUselessTriviaLesson] :)

What does -joch mean on the end of young lady? :) That's pretty cool though. I also miss Red Rock Valley...

dear lord i haven't thought of those tracks since GT2. I don't even know where my discs are, or i'd pop them in! MAN. Red Rock was fun.

Red Rock Valley. How to best describe it? Hmmmmmmmm.....

💡

Take a high-banked track that somewhat resembles either Bristol, Dover or somewhere in between and completely transform it by adding a road section that goes across, over, around and even under the infield! As a result, you have a logistical marvel named Red Rock Valley Speedway.:trouble::D

I remember it as being a highly unstable track for anything mid-engined... Yet I LOVED drifting around it at high speeds. Awesome track.

Yeah, I really missed Red Rock Valley in GT3 and GT4. It's a pity, but I don't think Polyphony are considering bringing it back :(

My German isn't so good, but a direct translation is "yoke". Probably refers to the saddle between the mountain peaks.

To my knowledge, jungfrau actually means "virgin".

The deadline to sign-up for this series has long gone {29th june} Could i suggest {even though i'm taking a risk in doing so} that someone ; of authority , take over the running of it ... if eats has gone , i'm sure its what he'd approve of ... if he is still around then perhaps the thought of someone else running his mojo .. might bring him out of the woodwork .

It's not a bad idea, although I believe part of the glory of this series was brought by his "management style" :) Having said that, I'd love to raise my hand and run the series, but unfortunately I barely have the time to compete... :irked:

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

(P.S. nevermind the deadline for joining being long gone, he hasn't logged onto GTP since July 1!)

Posting because i think someone should take over the running of this comp .. i vote :nervous: {at the risk of being shot} that we give viper a deadline .. the JGTC should live on .

We could try, but I think it's safe to say that Eats has moved on from GTP (hopefully in a healthy, all-is-well-with-the-guy sense). He hasn't logged on in nearly 3 months...

I am still interested, and would be in favour of setting a deadline.
As has been stated, Eats hasn't logged on in 3 months, BUT, it may not be by his own choice (If you know what I mean?) He could be un-avoidably detained.

'We' could look at starting the series up, in his name, and if/when he comes back he can retake the reigns. With the obvious caveat that a nominal time period should be given for him to return, and after that time it's no longer his series.

BUT, if 'we' do take it over (in his name or not) at least two guys need to be involved, and preferably two guys that have ran a series before.

💡 Has anyone tried contacting Eats via MSN Messenger yet? If I'm not mistaken, he has his MSN ID in his profile.

Also, I would like to maybe step forward, but I should think about it first. I'm currently running the Clio Cup series and it's the first such OLR Series that I'm doing. :O
