To max out your money easy and early and fast (I read this on this board or another--can't remember which)--the following will max out your money in about 20-25 minutes $999,999,999.

The method has been verified on PS2 version of the game. Apparently this will not work on PC version-- the time you get for each checkpoint decreases by 1 seconde each time you repeat it until it gets down to 6 seconds-- so unless you can get your cone crazy time down to single digits (very difficult but it is possible--if you nudge the cones around prior to picking up the first checkpoint) it is very difficult for most people to max out their money with this method.

METHOD:
Do cone crazy but when you have just the last checkpoint left pull up next to it but don't grab it until your timer is down to 1 second--then grab it. Take the stallion back to where you got it from and get out, get back in and cone crazy will start again-- repeat but then let timer get down to 2 seconds, then 3 seconds, then 4, etc...
Each time you beat your time your prize money doubles... it takes 23 times to max out your money... the money progression is as follows:

If you do it 15 times, you will have plenty of money to finish the game--
The same trick can be used also on either test track or trial by dirt, but they take longer to complete.
To start cone crazy, go to the top of the garage where you met Lance in the Guardian Angels mission (one where you protect Diaz)-- about in the middle on the opposite side where you come up, there should be a Stallion parked there (could have a top or not)-- get in to start cone crazy--practice a bit before you try to max your money-- I normally get the 2 on the ramps first go up and sort of jump the corner and get the second one going back down--this one is the hardest to get and takes practice to be able to get it fast--the others are all pretty ez, get the one near the ramp next, get the one in the corner back by where you started after that, and then get the one in the circle of cones last.
If you want to repeat it, just drive the car (or any other stallion) back to the place it was parked when you started--get out and back in and it will start again.
Remember to just barely beat your time each time--if you beat it by too much you will quickly get to the point where you can't get done fast enough to beat your previous best time.
NOTE: THERE IS A GLITCH IN DOING THIS (a glitch within a glitch)--YOU WILL ACTUALLY LOSE ALL YOU MONEY IF YOU DO THIS 24, 25, OR 26 TIMES-- IF YOU DO IT 27 (500 milliion) OR 28 (over 1 billion) TIMES IT WILL GO POSITVE AGAIN-- I have not checked this out beyond improving your times beyond 28 times (yet)--if you want to know more about this read the series of posts on the 2nd page of this thread.
