Doesnt look like much of a coupe to me.

Its supposed to be like the Mercedes CLS, and this sucker has been in the works for a long, long time. I really like it, gives the Passat a bit more of an edge (which it has been lacking, sad to say). I'll take mine with the 3.6L VR6 and the DSG box, please...

After months of informed speculation, Volkswagen finally revealed its CLS-inspired Passat, dubbed the "CC." The four-door "coupe" is based off the Passat platform and carries over several of the standard sedan's cues, but the sleek shape of the plummeting C-pillar, shortened rear overhang and revised fascia make it considerably more upmarket. The interior is up to V-Dub snuff, meaning plenty of premium materials and what one VW exec described as "intimate seating." And despite the stubby trunk lid, Volkswagen made a point to demonstrate that the CC can consume the international unit of boot measurement, two golf bags.

When the Passat CC goes on sale later this year, it will be fitted with the 3.6-liter FSI V6 making around 300 hp, along with three selectable chassis control systems, spanning the range from Sport to Normal and Comfort. In addition to a host of electronic gizmos, Volkswagen will begin offering its own version of the utterly sucktastic Park Assist feature on the CC, similar to the system used on the Lexus LS460.

Oh, and I like it best in black:

The Passat definitely looks great in black. And mom and dad are thinking of getting one:tup:.

It just isn't as coupey as the CLS I'm afraid.

Now that I look at it more, I know what it reminds me of:

Still, not a bad look. I'd be interested to hear what kind of price premium this commands, I can't imagine it being too much, but it being VW, you never know...

While these are very sleek sedans, i dont really see how they are "4-door coupes". But this thing is very nice. Much better looking than the normal passat. Will it be a 4 seater and have the same middle divider in the ear like the CLS?

My next car right there.
Unfortunately we are not getting it with the 300hp VR6 DSG in North America, only the 280hp VR6 with 6 speed automatic with paddles/tiptronic.

There's 1 second difference between the 300hp DSG vs 280hp Auto, 5.6 vs 6.6 to 62 mph.

As I recall, still faster than most other cars you'll find in the segment/size range for the same price.

With the 2.0T starting at the same price as the GTI and putting up the same acceleration numbers, the Passat is definitely that. You can get a premium German sedan for the price of an Accord. But that's just how VW works. All it doesn't have is the RWD.

The rear looks little bit tricky, but it might grow on me. Rest looks very good.

The CC will replace the Passat in the US. It's an evolution of the Passat's design.
I think it's brilliant.

4wd, 280hp VR6, 6 speed AT with paddles, a nice of touch of luxury, and the bonus, it's low key, nobody knows my Passat B6 3.6 is worth 50k CAD, and I like that.

Well the car do have some good lines on it. It sure rocks my boat:tup:
Rock the boat (dont tip the boat over rock the boat ETC.)

Looks slick in black, Wheel design is nice but pricing will make this thing live or die

Will it? Because that will be the saddest news I've heard in a while. I like the CC, but it needs a sedan to go along with it.

Passats have a way about them that makes them look goo din Black. VWs in general do for that matter.

Well it sinks mine.👎

Don't like this at all.

+1, the current Passat here in the EU looks very sweet, but this one looks far too agressive. The headlights remind me of a Honda (forgot the name), the grills for the foglights are just a cheap copy from all the current Opels, and the rear is too Merc-like, oh and the whole front in the first picture looks like a Saab...

I'd still take the previous Passat gen (2003?) over any Passat gen...

Not to slag it off too much but the styling looks like someone used the smudge tool in photoshop on the old passat and just made the front and rear lights stretch further back on the sides..... thats it!

And the front lights do look like the Mondeos flipped upside down but I guess Audi started that shape off anyway...

Oh and whats with the door handles!!!, they look stupidly low to be under that crease line.. jeez looks like you would have to be a midget!

As for everything else im sure its amazing!

lol, now that you pointed out the door handles it's funny and it looks like they randomly PSed them there.

We've had all the gens of Passat here, wether it was me, my dad, or my brother, and we can safely say the B6 3.6 4motion is the best of them all. Beats the crap out of a W8 too:)

It looks exactly like a normal Passat but with less rear head room... Am i missing something?

Just what the world was crying out for, an average family saloon for executives with short-arsed mates.
